I visited Portugal on a group tour that included stays at three pousadas. A big takeaway from my experience is that pousadas are remarkably variable. Pousada Mosteiro de Guimaraes, was fantastic, while Conimbriga Hotel Do Paço was abysmal. This one, Pousada Castelo Palmela, was somewhere in-between. I recommend you choose your pousada carefully. The positives of Pousada Castelo Palmela are many and significant. It’s a magnificent building with fantastic views. I recommend you save some time to explore the fortress the hotel is part of, and, when weather permits, you go to the west side of the pousada’s grounds to enjoy a lovely sunset. However, the staff of this pousada could improve. I got the impression that the place was understaffed, and not all staff were fully trained. Dining was disappointing; the pousada’s restaurant has limited capacity and books up quickly, and there are few if any local restaurants to use as an alternative. To solve this, you could book half board, or reserve your dinner table well in advance. However, I don’t recommend that because, as well as being small relative to the number of guest rooms, the restaurant isn’t very good. My dinners here were frankly awful – uninspired and badly served, often cold. I recommend you go grocery shopping and bring food with you when you return to the hotel, or use Uber Eats to have your dinner delivered (as I did).

Nella cittadina di Palmela si trova questa graziosa struttura che offre formule diverse di soggiorno. Noi abbiamo scelto una comoda suite all’ultimo piano con soppalco e balconcino arredato da cui si godeva una bellissima vista sul castello di Palmela. L’accoglienza è stata gentile e le proprietarie molto disponibili, risolvendo prontamente un piccolo problema che si era creato. Ottima anche la pulizia. Materasso comodissimo e camera confortevole con piccolo frigo e macchina nespresso rifornita giornalmente. Non c’è parcheggio privato, ma nelle piazzette del paese o lungo le strade si trova comunque posto. Strategico per visitare l’Alentejo, il Parquet Natural de Arrábida, Setúbal, Sesimbra ecc…

Die Apartments sind schön und komfortabel mit angenehmen Umgebungen und das Restaurant ist sehr angenehm, kontinentales Frühstück ist im Preis inbegriffen, kostenfreies WLAN im Restaurant und Bar-Bereich, Ein Auto ist wirklich unerlässlich, wenn Sie die Umgebung, 55 km von Lissabon und 10 km von Setubal, ein Taxi vom Flughafen Lissabon ca. 60 Euros entdecken möchten. Ausgezeichnete Basis für die Erforschung der Region, Palmela Castle, Setubal Stadt für Einkaufen und Supermarkt für alle Ihre Bedürfnisse, von Setubal können Sie das Fährschiff nach Troia Halbinsel Komplex und Strand, ein Besuch in Lissabon ist die meisten, Sie können einen Zug von Lissabon nach Sintra oder Estoril, einen Besuch in Belem zum berühmten ”Pastel de Nata” (Cusardtart) Insgesamt ein guter Ort, um einen Urlaub zu verbringen, empfehle ich die Palmela Apartments. Wir fahren von Newcastle nach Plymouth und dann Brittany Ferries nach Santander(Spanien) und von Santander nach den Palmela Apartments ist eine 7-Stunden-Fahrfahrt. Ich empfehle diese Apartments.
