"For the first few days, we really enjoyed our experience at the Edmunds House Hotel. The property is in a good location, our room was very nice, the staff were pleasant and the breakfasts were outstanding. We particularly liked the breakfasts; the service was wonderful and the quality of the food was exceptional. However when we returned on the afternoon before our third night, the front desk was unable to find the room key we had left with them that morning. As it turns out, without notice or our consent, the staff had given our room to another guests, relocated us to another, less desirable room and hotel housekeeping had haphazardly stuffed our things into a single suitcase for the move. For example, our dirty clothes and shoes were tossed in with our clean clothing. In the process of the move, three minor items were lost. It took us nearly an hour to unpack and rearrange what they had carelessly strewn in our suitcases.. Needless to say we were not happy and let the hotel staff know of our displeasure. The front desk apologized but then blamed our hiking tour company, stating the company had approved the room change at the time of booking and should have notified us. Regardless, the hotel should have notified us of the room change and we would have properly repacked our stuff for the move. We spoke with them every morning and afternoon as we dropped off or retrieved our room key. Not once did they mention we would not be returning to room we were given at check-in. We were also told we were being relocated to comparable room, which was not the case. Our bathroom in the Trevone room was up a steep and narrow staircase with a five foot high door frame and a four foot high beam just as you enter. I must have hit my head a half dozen times in our one night’s stay. It is such a shame because that experience marred what was otherwise a very enjoyable stay at the property."

"Although the standard twin bed room we occupied is quite small, it is well decorated, has modern furniture and is spotlessly clean. There is a recent shower unit, a TV, a fan, and tea and coffee making facilities. There are twin electrical sockets and 4 USB outlets adjacent to each bed. While the window looks along the coast rather than directly out to sea, the view is very pleasant. The English breakfast was good, and the manager, Adam, very helpful. There is parking on a hard-standing at the side of the hotel. The sea and pier are close by, and the main shopping area is walkable. Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot. Two constructive suggestions are (1) a shelf in the bathroom for toiletries which won't stand on top of the curved sink, and (2) provision of a toilet brush."

Die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich, willkommen und immer glücklich, mit Fragen oder Anfragen zu helfen. Die Lage ist großartig, vor allem wenn Sie gerne nahe am Strand und an den Meerespromenaden zu sein. Insgesamt war es ein entspannender Aufenthalt, und ich würde in der Zukunft glücklich zurückkehren."
