Nice location right next to the city center. Walk distance to most tourist attractions.

I have stayed at Novotels around the world and have always appreciated their effort to locate well, make cleanliness a priority, to hire friendly staff and to provide good dining options. My last two experiences at the Novotel Downtown Ottawa have been any thing but good. I would not ever come back without reassurance that change has occurred. During my second last stay, I was placed on a floor where renovations were ongoing while I was trying to work and sleep. My complaint was essentially ignored. This stay's complaint was all about an attempt to order a coffee and toast in the morning because I was in a hurry and because I am a senior and have experienced the health dangers associated with buffets, I just avoid them. The waitress, who advised me of the the buffet cost as I entered the restaurant, then berated me for not knowing about the Novotel policy which only allows for you to order the buffet or hit the road. She, rather impolitely, questioned if I had ever stayed at the Novotel Downtown before because I was not aware of the buffet only policy. You are entitled to make your own business decisions and to train your own staff. There are too many options for any one to accept such deficiencies.

Nice place to stay in . One thing is that the reception called and asked me to be quiet which i was sleeping at that time :)

This is a great location however the beds are very uncomfortable and the bar isn't very amicable, the staff that is.

Great experience at the Novotel. Walking distance from Byward Market, Rideau shopping center and restaurants. Service was great, available in English and French. We really enjoyed our stay.

there was leftover food in the fridge in the room. the parking garage and entrance to the hotel was impossible to navigate, and the lobby layout created a cluster of queues in the lobby to the elevator, check in, taxi/cars, etc... very hard to navigate w sensory overload for humans and dogs

After booking, was contemplating as reading the previous reviews. Not sure why the reviews were negative, parking was easy and accessible and room was so clean and quiet. Loved the hotel
