Sometimes you are never quite sure what to expect, but this friendly hotel exceeded our expectations by a long way. It stands overlooking a picturesque inlet from the sea with plenty of small boat activity to watch. The hotel itself is very nicely furnished and certainly good enough to house a wedding reception which was being prepared during our stay. Our room was also of a high standard. The food in the restaurant was extremely good, and probably its best feature with an outstanding vista across the water. Breakfast was served in a different room, but again extremely apertising. We only stoped overnight on our tour of Denmark, but this would a lovely stop for a longer relaxing break.

We had a stay at the hotel for a gourmet/jubilee experience. The place is really nice and weel kept, and our rooms were good. The jubilee menu was in general composed by some good and well executed dishes, however somehow the choice of dishes pointed in all food style directions without overall aim and purpose - and the descriptions in the menu (probably meant to be fun) were right out irritating. The service was good and efficient - and staff had the smile and the glimpse in the eye that made you feel welcome Breakfast was so-so - the food in itself was OK but the narrow buffet room is not very well suited to the purpose and the chairs in the breakfast room were very unpleasant/har to sit on; one definitely did not want to linger too much over the breakfast. All in all a very good experience with minor possibilities for improvement

Our names are John and Maddie Moller and we got married at the Norsminde Kro in September of this last year. Flawless would be the word that comes to our mind. The venue, service, ambiance, staff and food all would receive 10/10 reviews and that is where we will jump into for this review. We were a group of about 100. For starters Maddie and I worked heavily with Marie. She is a class act and someone that the Norsminde Kro is lucky to have on their staff. Any large event is stressful, but Marie had done events like this before and delivered on everything she communicated with us while being kind and calm throughout the whole process. Maddie and I are Americans but I have Danish family so we always knew we wanted to have our wedding in Denmark. So, communication for a large event like this needed to be precise and Marie had it all covered and some. We also had Laura as the lead of the wait staff and once again the Kro is lucky to have her. She is a leader and someone that made this night very special for us. Her explaining the dishes/wines and making sure everything was presented in a timely manner was extremely impressive. The Wedding: We went with the “DEN STORE BRYLLUPSPAKKE” and this was a great decision. You get more time with your guests at the event space and honestly everything you need. Venue: You cannot really ask for a more beautiful Danish style building overlooking the fjord. The location is cozy and exactly what we wanted. We utilized the outdoor space, the large room from the outdoor space and two of the large assembly halls. Everything was gorgeous and elegant. 10/10 Food: From the wedding cake (which needed to be customized for the vegetarians) to the appetizers, dinner, desert and late night food everything was delicious. Food is a very important part of weddings/celebrations and the Norsminde Kro excelled exponentially in this area. You don’t want your guests going hungry and they didn’t. 10/10 Drinks: We had wine and champagne for welcome drinks. They were delicious. Norsminde Kro is known for their wines so this was something that we knew was going to be great and it was. I can promise no one gets under served throughout the evening and that is a testament to their wonderful staff. We also had beer/fadol throughout the night and that was also great for our guests. 10/10 Service/Staff: They were awesome and did a great job throughout the entire night. They always knew the right times to come in and serve and also let the guests have the space and not always around. They were very pleasant and very approachable so anything anyone needed they delivered. 10/10 Dance Floor: Incredible. Enough space for dancing and vibing. 10/10 Rooms: Hotel rooms are updated and very beautiful. Comfortable beds and homey. 10/10 Overall: We cannot express how incredible the experience we had with the Norsminde Kro was. It is something we will never forget and all of the 70 Americans that came to Denmark won’t either. A dream wedding at

Had the smørrebrød ad libitum and tried all of them amongst us. The herring was good and the salmon rilette was also fine. All other pieces were just so-so and the rye bread was very dry. Ingredients were fresh, but taste was lacking a lot. For example, the pork was too salty and soft; the meat balls had a strange dressing and the veal tasted like… nothing. Good service though but not a memorable lunch.

We added a last minute stop to our road trip because we were very tired. We were very happy with our choice! The place is cozy, it has a cute and interesting historical yet modern style, nice views. The room was spacious, luminous, comfortable, and very clean. We slept really well. Breakfast was delicious. Kinda fancy but not uptight feeling. There was paper over the tablecloths, which is great for kids to draw on and be entertained during breakfast. As it is customary in Denmark, no minifridge in the bedroom, but there was a water boiler and some tea and powdered cappuccino. No elevator - Just mentioning it in case you're walking impaired. I use a crutch, and I should have mentioned that we'd prefer a ground room when booking. They offered a solution, there was no need anyway. All good.

Stayed here for one night during a trip to Jutland and was very impressed. Hotels of this type are plentiful in the UK but surprisingly hard to find in Denmark. Very well appointed, professional staff, clean and very smart. By Danish standards, really not that expensive either. Unless of course you eat in the restaurant (I paid more for dinner than for the room including breakfast). I expect I'll be back.
