Outstanding 9 day stay. We had the Master Suite which was a great size. Room had a great air conditioner - we were very comfortable. Here is the key discriminator for me on this hotel - THE POOL. Pools in the downtown area are hard to come by and our travel partners were all envious of our pool when it came to the 2 hour break before dinner! Staff is awesome. We had breakfast in the restaurant most mornings - very good, prepared from scratch, and portions are significant. Location is great. The area centered around the Zocalo (around the corner from the hotel) and Santo Domingo church (10 min walk) is the epicenter of tourist activity IMO. One thing to share that is unique to Oaxaca. For the past several years the Teacher's Union goes on strike 15 May for several weeks. The strike consists of road blockages in the Zocalo area because they set up hundreds of tents on the streets. There is very little noise from the group and some say it's less noisy overall because of the lack of cars. When you look at the group - they are what they say they are - TEACHERS with their kids. We would prefer there not be a strike but the strike was pretty much a non-issue. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Booked a Junior Suite and was upgraded to a Master Suite. The room was a perfect size for my husband 12 year old daughter and I. They have noise proof glass windows which were a big plus as the hotel is on the main zocalo square and is very noisy. The garden and pool are very pleasant and tranquil. You don’t feel like you are in the hustle and bustle of downtown Oaxaca. The staff are very pleasant and most speak English. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Oaxaca. It’s in the perfect location!

This is a lovely little hotel in a great location just off the main zocalo or square in the city of Oaxaca. We stayed a week. The people who work here are very friendly, kind and some but not all speak English, but they will use Google translate and do everything they can to help you. They are the BEST part of the place. They booked taxis and tours for us, all at good price, great guides. They were happy to move our room when the first one was too noisy. They are constantly cleaning, so the place is immaculate. It was a restaurant where we had a good breakfast. If you book, ask for a room away from the kitchen and main courtyard where any noise or speaking echos at all hours. The cons are: the beds are very hard, and the sheets- although look nice and are sparkling white, are rough against your skin. Also, there is soap, shampoo and conditioner, but really poor quality so your hair still feels dirty. If you bring your own shampoo and pillowcase, and take a room on the upper floors, then this is a great place, but pricey for what you get. (Twice the price of a four star in Mexico City.)

Our flight was cancelled by AeroMexico, but the Hotel Boutique de la Parra refused to provide even a token refund. We had booked a five night stay, but our flight was cancelled on the day we were to arrive, but the hotel would not provide us with any refund, even for one night. This is not the way to win customers.

Like many small boutique hotels this is a converted hacienda with only 13 rooms The rooms are not large but was perfect for the 2 of us The remodel done looks recent and well done with modern amenities (like a/c) while keeping old charm 1 block from the Zocalo The staff was great Pricing possibly on the high side but everyone’s budget is different Breakfast was included, but was just OK I would definitely return

Great location but Hotel needs new towels! For this price they should be able to afford them. Also they gouge you on rides to and from airport. Just get your own taxi! Rip off. Helpful staff and decent size room but wouldn’t necessarily recommend this place

This hotel is small and charming. The courtyard pool is lovely. But a warning: this is no ladder or railing into the pool creating an unnecessary risk. I had the same room two years in a row and it is more than adequate. I would recommend staying upstairs away from The first floor noise. The staff is friendly and kind the outdoor dining area w bird's around is lovely. Good food served simply yet good.

This is a small, boutique, hotel located a half block from the zocalo. The location is perfect to walk to the mercados, zocalo, and the andador touristico. The hotel is a beautiful, colonial, building with a gorgeous patio/pool. I gave it four stars because the rooms could use some updating but I am just nitpicking. It’s a beautiful, quiet, relaxing space. One of favorite things to do was have our morning coffee in the courtyard. The coffee and breakfast is EXCELLENT. Lucero and Flor deserve extra praise for their fantastic service. Special praise also to Edna at the front desk for her day trip suggestions. She is incredibly knowledgeable. Luis was also very attentive and provided excellent service. The few issues we had, like a malfunctioning room safe and not enough toilet paper, were quickly resolved and with a smile. I enjoyed my time here so much that I already booked an August trip!

I stayed at this hotel for five days. Although it is clean and the staff is excellent, it is far too expensive for what it is. We did not have hot water in two rooms. The shower and tap were alternately warm and freezing cold. We stayed in two rooms and both had items missing (e.g. a bedside lamp, a phone). Additionally, the windows do not open in the Presidential Suite and the furniture is dated in that room. I recommend staying in a balcony room if you can get it for $100-150USD per night.
