We have stayed at Fairshore for five years. This year the accommodation was a real let down. The cost has increased over that time (same holiday period) from $2500 - >$8500 for one week, meanwhile the quality of accommodation has declined at a similar rate. This year we were allocated apartment 20 - it came with its original fit out - it’s not tired, it’s absolutely exhausted. The dishwasher, washing machine and safe were all broken. Dishes came out of the dishwasher filthy (even when rinsed before going in), the washing machine sounded like it was full of cutlery and shook violently. It doesn’t fit the space properly so is jammed in on its side. The kitchen was very poorly equipped - no cutting board (& none provided when requested). The lounger on the balcony was broken - a slat was lying on the floor. The clothes horse was so cheap and nasty, the owner would have needed to try hard to find something so bad. It fell apart at the slightest bump or gust of wind. The apartment is classified ‘standard’. As is it’s next door neighbour, number 21 (where we stayed last year). That apartment had a new kitchen and bathroom & was vastly superior to this years allocation. N.b. You are unable to request specific apartments - it’s the luck of the draw (& at the discretion of a very arrogant management team). The Fairshore clearly needs a new category for their original apartments - ‘sub standard’ would be a better descriptor. At $1200+ a night, this place needs to pick up its game.
