Muskoka Lakes Hotel and Resorts

While the location of this hotel and the dock and water amenities (kayaks, peddle boats) is very good, this hotel is definitely not worth the money. We had a 'standard' room, with a small window. The room is spacious but there was NO housekeeping, the sheet was thin and cheap, the dishes were dirty (all 4 mugs provided) and the place needed a good cleaning in obvious places. I complained about the mugs which were quickly replaced with clean cups, but that experience made me reluctant to use anything else provided in the kitchen. Even a glass I wanted to use had to be cleaned before I could use it (it was greasy and smudged.) The air conditioning unit was a portable unit with the large hose through the window. The noise was like a 747 so we were not able to use it while we slept, and the room got quite hot. Generally, it was a huge disappointment for the money we paid and we simply won't be back.

Three words to describe MLH.....dark sky location! Place could use a cat too. Lovely views, really clean docks - no creepy crawlers underneath so makes it easy to stay in water hanging onto ladder. Great water craft available free of charge. The stars though -unbelievable and thats saying something as the view out from the balcony over the lake iis all "hills are alive" kind of vibe.

Very pretty view out over Lake Joseph. Last time I saw such a beautiful sky of stars was at Deerhurst.
