As a Canadian traveler with large family, this boutique hotel in central Montevideo was one of the finest places I have stayed at. The front lobby staff (especially Laura) were incredibly helpful and English was very good. They are available on whatsapp to answer questions prior to your visit. The roof top breakfast dining was really great spread with hot meals. The location is generally safe and walking distance to the central commercial district. The famous Palacio Salvo and Plaza Independencia are a block away. Lots of eateries (Americano Cafe really good), pharmacies, laundry, and convenience stores. The history of revitilzation of this hotel reminded me of the incredible boutique hotels of Queen St W in Toronto (a bit like Drake Hotel with a more family feel). The rooms are not large as it is an older building conversion but offers a comfortable and clean upgrade.

Das Hotel liegt sehr nahe der Altstadt und dem unabhängigen Platz und ist sehr gut zu Fuß entfernt. Die Zimmer sind sauber und sauber, der Kühlschrank und die elektrische Heizung sind verfügbar. Der Preis des Zimmers ist auch ein Frühstück enthalten und ist auch ein sehr gutes Frühstück. Obwohl nicht an der Strand von New City, ist der Preis bereits sehr wertvoll und ist wirklich unheimlich. We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Montevideo but there are improvements needed. We travel to Uruguay from the US every 1- 2 years to visit my husband's family and have stayed many places. This hotel is beautiful but the rooms were not as comfortable as expected. We wouldn’t stay here again unless improvements were made because comfort is very important when traveling such a long way and staying up to 2 weeks. Pros: The hotel decor is visually beautiful. The staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. It was nice that some of the staff spoke English. My husband is a native Spanish speaker and it was great that he didn't have to translate the restaurant menu for me. The morning breakfast was very good and the staff there great. The views from the 10th floor hotel bar and DJ were fantastic. Cons: Not worth the price of the upgrade, and not what you would expect for a hotel with hotel with 4+ rating. We asked if an upgrade was an available at check in because we were staying for 11 nights. We were offered a Suite room that was bigger in size and has a small kitchenette. The size of the room was better for us for a long stay but unfortunately the bed was the worst bed we have ever slept in. It was way too soft, no support and the pillows were too soft. I realize of course this is also about preference but we have stayed at many hotels and have never experienced such a horrible bed. We traveled a long way and a good nights rest is always important. The bathroom- I prefer a long sink or his/her countertop when we travel so that we can arrange our skin care, makeup, beauty products etc. This sink was tiny so I had no place to put my toiletries when getting ready. The lighting is too dark in the rooms even with the curtains fully opened. When I was getting ready, I could barely see anything. A dimmer light switch would be much better. It would also be nice if Restaurant Polo Bamba had a rotating menu for dinner options.

Gute Lage, in Punta Carretas, nur wenige Blöcke von den Ramblas und in einem Spaziergang mit Restaurants und Einkaufsplätze. Große Zimmer, mit sehr guten Betten. Durchschnittliches Frühstück, mit wenigen Optionen. Der Preis war sehr gut. Die Prüfung in der Erfahrung war nicht sehr gut, sie fanden die Buchung nicht, die direkt gemacht wurde ... Bei der Prüfung vergessen sie, dass wir eine Garantie von 20% des Aufenthaltes gezahlt und den vollen Betrag gezahlt haben, und musste es zurück ... Über alle sehr gute Option in Montevideo.

Sehr gut, kein großes Problem, grundsätzlich gibt es Dienstleistungen, oder entsprechen dem Standard von Geschäftsreisen, nächstes Mal vielleicht noch hier wohnen, empfehlen es, es gibt eine große Einkaufsmöglichkeit in der Nähe des Hotels

Excelente todo, la ubicación, las habitaciones, el desayuno y sobretodo el trato del personal. Sumamente recomendable! Sin duda para repetir. Estuvimos en una habitación de 4 y fue super cómodo todo , la cocina americana un plus.

I stayed 3 nights in the so called double standard room. My room was on the 6th floor overlooking the street. I enjoyed my stay at Own Montevideo. The room had a nice modern setup with a plenty of storage space, switches/power outlets in all the right places, many lighting fixtures. I could open windows and get a fresh air. The A/C worked fine. Wi-Fi was fine as well. The bathroom was of a decent size, with the separation between the sink and the toilet/shower. There was a window next to the bathroom sink, with a plenty of light coming in. Everything was in decent shape and looked clean. I found the small shelf was missing in the shower but it didn’t bother me much. Noise level was average. Nothing super loud that bothered me. The breakfast was adequate, with friendly personnel. One thing to know is that you have to specifically ask for coffee/tea and it will be brought to you. Everyone from the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located. I walked to Pocitos/Montevideo sign and back. Everything is a short Uber ride away, with a plenty of Uber cars available. Uber ride to Buquebus terminal for direct ferry to BA at the morning took around 15 minutes. If you arrive at MVD airport without a lot of luggage, you can take DM1 bus at the front of the terminal (84 pesos as of November 2022), get off at the last stop and walk ahead for 2 minutes and you are right there at the hotel door. Very convenient. All in all, everything was good, as it seems like everything else in Montevideo. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and am giving it 5 stars review. I certainly recommend it.

This place was perfect in every way. The check-in, the room, the service, and the dining room staff were all wonderful. Our room was clean, the water was hot, and the bed was comfortable. This hotel is ideally located as well. The mall and grocery are within walking distance, and some excellent restaurants are also within walking distance.

Five star period. Best hotel in Montevideo. We stayed for 2 nights and used the spa twice. We had to cancel an early morning breakfast and were not charged a penny. Friendly and helpfull staff, beautiful historical building, very nice and safe naighbourhood. What can I say more?
