Don’t waste your money on this place. Right outside smoking a cigarette, I was threatened with false arrest over a noise complaint not even 10 minutes after I arrived unless I paid the cops off. Staff working here did nothing to help me, the same goes for another guy who had his phone stolen earlier that night. Matter of fact, this hostels abysmal suggestion to him is what got me hemmed up in the first place. I don’t see the logic in recommending someone to call the police when their incompetence and abuse towards both Mexicans and tourists is a statistically proven, nationwide issue. I wouldn’t be in the least bit surprised if certain staff members get a cut of whatever those pigs scam off of your guests, especially when it comes to people having 3000+ pesos going missing after the cleaning staff pays them a visit. Not to mention the restaurant staff member Carlos is extremely rude, getting in your face when you’re on the phone or over crap that has nothing to do with you, like a friend who he wrongly assumed was stiffing him on the bill, then he demands a tip after catching a bad attitude. He’s lucky he backed down when he did. Also was lied to by reception about the chiliquales being included when it comes to breakfast, only for them to completely switch up on me the last day. I was the ONLY guest in my room where this wasn’t honored. Will not be returning here, I highly recommend you don’t either. The friends I made here and the teotihuacan tour are the only things that made my stay worth it, but I’ll find a way better hostel next time I’m down here, one WITHOUT mould growing in the bathroom. If you’re reading this, I hope and pray you do as well

Rad hostel experience in centro CDMX! Service is excellent and met lots of new friends from around the world. The breakfast is worth it. Views from the rooftop were a great way to start the day. They offer a lot of activities and ways to connect with others. Definitely recommend.

To preface this review, I love hostels and almost exclusively stay in them, party hostels included. This hostel was a huge disappointment. The private room was ok, basic but clean with a good shower. Bed was pretty hard. Rooftop terrace was nice, but quiet hours were meant to be at 10 PM, yet there was still music absolutely blaring and people yelling up there at 11 multiple consecutive nights, a weeknight included. I took a timestamped video, it was so loud in our room two floors below and we had to be up very early for a tour one day. Wifi in the room was also terrible. The water cooler in the tiny kitchen was empty more often than not over the course of our stay, even after telling them it needed refilled (conveniently forcing you to purchase water onsite). The worst part though was how money grubbing the managers were. We extended our stay by an extra night because we were going to the lucha with the hostel, but then afterwards we realized that they don't provide transport back with the tour and we also had a super early morning tour with a different company near where the lucha arena was. We asked to cancel the extension (after already having stayed two nights) about an hour after booking it, and although the receptionists asked for us, we were told management refused. This meant we were up at like 4 AM the next day to get ready and check out and uber over to drop our stuff off at the new hotel we booked near our tour pickup point. That brings me to my final point... this place is expensive!! It was over $100 US a night for a thoroughly unimpressive experience. We spent 104 USD our final night on a beautiful 4.5 star hotel that made me regret ever booking this hostel. Also, the city center area is not charming. Would recommend looking in La Condesa instead.

This hostel is in the heart of Mexico City. Everyday they have free walking tours (that were great) and also they have planned excursions for an additional price. There were a lot of solo travelers and the activities and daily "power hour" [5-6 pm $100 pesos (approx $5 USD) for unlimited margaritas/beer)] on the rooftop bar make it a great way to meet really awesome people. (People so dope we all got tattoos together!) The sleeping pods/bunks were great. You get a private locker for your bag, and also a smaller locker in the pod for your smaller things. I would suggest bringing TWO LOCKS! (I think you can rent if you don't have). The rooms do not have AC, we kept the window open. The temperature was fine, but it was loud. I would suggest earplugs. The "key" for your room is a bracelet with an electronic charm on it that opens the door which is fantastic for backpackers and travelers not having to worry about losing/carrying around a bulky key. Now, all of that being said. I found 2 bedbugs on my mattress. It was not an infestation (I picked up the mattress, checked the sheets etc. One was on the curtain and the other crawling across the sheets. It is not uncommon for a place to get bedbugs, and I was impressed with the way they handled it. They completely cleaned the dorm I was in that day, both with fumigation and changing all linens. They also closed off the common areas with fabric couches/chairs (I was on the same floor as reception) for the day). HOWEVER, they did not offer any type of refund or discount, which I did not agree with (I only had one more night so I chose to stay after they had cleaned and remediated). Additionally, they did not tell any of the other guests. I didn't agree with them not being transparent. I would think it would have been helpful to have other guests check their bunks etc, but they probably would have lost some business and it seems that was the reason they didn't. All that being said, it was one of the nicer hostels (amenity, staff, furniture, etc) that I have stayed at. I booked in advance and it was approx $45 a night (which in comparison to other places around the same area, was middle of the road and for what it was, seemed affordable. Bring your own towel, bring your own locks, I would not pay for the breakfast, as there are many food options on the same street that are much cheaper.

I stayed in a female dorm and on the first night I was bitten by a bed bug. Next morning I let reception know and showed the lady at reception a picture, and asked to be put in another room and offered to pay the difference between the dorm and private room. The person at reception advised that there was no space, but offered a full refund. I found this a little weird as there was availability on ******* and ***********. It's unfortunate cause the hostel has a really good vibe. Pros 1. Fast and stable internet for those that work remotely 2. The hostel does a free walking tour to a different location each day 5. The bar on the roof is a great place to meet people, and music stops at 10.30 - so it's not too noisy until too late Cons 1. I got bitten by a bed bug and am allergic, which ruined my stay in Mexico City, I ended up staying in the hotel a lot of the time as I was unable to walk due to my leg swelling from the bite location down to my ankle. 2. Female dorm that I stayed in the toilet did not work, which meant we had to go up to the next floor to use the toilet, which was annoying especially as the hostel would allow people that were not staying at the hostel to drink at the bar on the rooftop. (nothing like walking past strangers in your pjs on the way to the bathroom in the middle of the night) 3. Dorm that I stayed in had no AC, or fan so it got a little warm at night until it cooled down

Let me preface this review by stating that I stayed in a private room, so I can't speak to what your experience might be like if you stay in the dorms. That said, they bill themselves as a "boutique hostel," and very accurately so! In addition to the facilities being nicer than your typical hostel, they organize nightly activities on a swanky rooftop bar/lounge/restaurant, tours during the daytime, and tasty breakfast in the mornings. It's a great place for digital nomads who need a coworking space, or just backpackers who want to meet other travelers.

One of our best stays in 5 months of travelling the Americas. Friendly staff. Super tasty and affordable food. So many events on it is so hard to catch up (tip: join the Casa Pepe WhatsApp group on arrival). The rooftop is so much fun. Cheap beers and margaritas from 18h for a Power Hour every day. We noticed too if you book in their website their tasty breakfast was free ❤️

The 6 nights I spent at Casa Pepe was amazing! The staff were super friendly and helpful.. always willing to go out of their way to accommodate needs and help out. Sleeping arrangements and bathrooms were 10/10 and nice and the dorms were well ventilated. Thank you to Alejandro all the staff at Casa Pepe for the memorable experience ✌️❤️

Super nice staff. Huge hostel with everything you need. Great central location for historical tours. Multiple daily events great for meeting people - I did the lucho libre and had a great time! The rooms are impeccably clean and the bunks are perfect - super comfy with plugs, a personal locker, lights! Got given a towel too which was a great plus. Highly recommend
