Wonderful place Matlock. Breakfast good too. Dawn at reception made me feel very welcome. Nice and relaxed. Excellent place to stay. Nice and relaxed. A lovely place to stay, for that, get away, especially for the walkers. Lots of beautiful walks

Hosts 9/10 - easy check in on screen, free parking for guests again easy to log. Not much internet around area but Premier free WiFi is fine. A big Thankyou you to the lady who works in the restaurant area on a Sat who discreetly helped me out with ladies sanitary products. Facilities- 9/10 tea,coffee making facilities in room with spares available in reception. Nice little make up area with hairdryer and led mirror. Cleanliness - 10/10 very clean room and bathrooms Location-8/10 situated just outside Matlock town center but lots of taxi numbers available and only cost £4 Stay again - yes

We specifically picked this hotel for its location as we know that premier hotels are always quite local to attractions. We always find staff helpful and knowledgeable to their area. You always get a comfortable nights sleep and the breakfast time is not to early so you get a lie in, if you so wish. Food is always cooked well and a good selection of choice, whether it being breakfast or evening meal, and another plus kids eat free under the age of 16.

This hotel is conveniently located in the Peak District. The reception was manned on arrival and check in completed in a few minutes. The room was comfortable and up to Premier Inn’s high standards.. However restaurant service was disappointing

Good points: - Close to Matlock and surrounding areas, super easy to get straight on the road. - The staff we saw were very kind. Bad points: - Bathrooms have no ventilation so the whole room stank of damp as well as several areas of mould across the walls and ceilings. -We stayed in room 102 which seemed to be next door to the boiler room or something to that effect as it rumbled against our bed wall every evening. WiFi is £5 a day and is slow/drops out frequently. - Didn’t have the ability to hang a room service request on the door (they don’t give them to you for some reason?) so had to ask at the desk. Spoke to someone at 9am, came back at 3pm and the wet towels in the bathroom were still there which made the damp smell even worse. We were given new towels by a lovely girl at the reception who did apologise. - We avoided the restaurant entirely as the reviews were horrendous (cold breakfast, mouldy bread, staffing issues) so found local areas to eat instead - highly recommend doing this as their restaurant prices were quite high! - We drove in an electric car and chose this hotel partly for the charging points on site. However 2 out of the 3 days we were unable to access them due to non-electric cars using the bays as parking spaces all day and overnight. We ended up having to play their own game and park in the space overnight when we saw the opportunity just so we could charge for our journey back. - Room decor and general maintenance was awful and felt like a budget hostel rather than a mid-priced hotel. Huge holes in the wall from previous items being unscrewed and not patched up. Pictures on the wall barely hanging on and look like a child hung them. Bathroom covered in mould. Old and tired carpet. There were far better places we could’ve stayed and sadly wish we had. Wouldn’t recommend.

Stayed 2 nights recently, friendly welcome on arrival. Car park busy but always found a space when arriving back after a day out. Room 224 was spacious and comfortable. Clean and tidy, towels were a little worn with a hole in one. Toiletries provided in dispensers. Plenty of tea/coffee and milk - extra can be obtained from Reception. Booked a meal deal for first night, 2 courses and a drink plus breakfast the following morning. Restaurant was fairly busy but definitely understaffed though they did their best. Our order was misplaced so we experienced a long wait for our food, staff were very apologetic, even the chef came to see us. The meal was very tasty and good value for money. Staff were very polite and friendly and gave a very generous discount for our problem. Breakfast was very good too, staff refilled empty containers promptly and food was nicely cooked. Definitely will return when next in the area
