Bellissimo posto immerso nei sassi nel silenzio e nella tranquillità difronte si trova la chiesa rupestre a 10 min neanche da piazza vittorio veneto ....ottima accoglienza gentilissimi x tutto ,ottima colazione per evitare anche sprechi c è stato fatto compilare un foglio dove si doveva segnare cosa avremmo preferito per colazione...le stanze bellissime se volete vivere l esperienza d una grotta è bellissimo soddisfatti

My wife and I stayed here for one night to see Matera. The hotel, our room, and amenities were all outstanding. A particular compliment to Rocco at the reception desk who gave us great advice for our next stop in Bari and Linda at the bar who was very gracious. The location is perfect to walk and see the sights of Matera. I agree that using the hotel’s parking arrangement outside of Sassi with the accompanying shuttle is the best way to proceed.

We wanted to stay in the Matera Sassi district - this hotel was perfect. It started with staff offering to book a car park in the new area of town. It was walkable to the hotel but we chose to take them up on their offer to have a driver pick us up at the car park - 20 euro for 4 adults. The garage is new and was the easiest parking we've ever had in Italy. Hint: if you're driving, use Google maps on your phone instead of the car's nav system to get to the garage. The car system took us to the wrong place and we talked to another couple who had the same experience. When we put in google nav, we got to the garage easily. Check in was easy and very welcoming. We got lots of info and a nice orientation to our rooms. Everyone was telling us ”relax, this is your home now and we will take care of everything” (and they did). Our rooms were lovely, ours even had a sauna in the larger shower. Nice amenities like robes and slippers and cold bottles of water in fridge at no charge. Note that the rooms are carved out of caves so they are on the dark side. I asked for an extra lamp, and it was very promptly brought to our room. Beds were quite comfy. Breakfast was fantastic! Lots of typical Italian foods along with American basics. The coffee was great, and our waitress cheerfully accommodated our requests. Finally, location is perfect - we walked everywhere. Didn't need the car at all during our 2 night visit. All in all a five star experience!

this is a very exclusive hotel, at a very quiet and important point of Matera. out of that tourist mass, less crowded, with an amazing view from most of the rooms, and teracces.The decoration is spectacular, a detailed combination of the local architecture with modern comfortable hotel neccessities. breakfast room is a surprise in a Cave, also with a sunny terrace. The foof is excellent. the most important thing is : eventhough architecturally it is situated in a mixed geography of many small buildings, rooms, they manage the hotel ultra-proffesional, they make no excuses due to their very difficult setting, and serve like a 5*L hotels in a big city. EXCELLENT

Das Hotel besteht, wie schon beschrieben aus mehreren gut ausgestatteten Höhlen und einem Receptionsteil, wo auch das Frühstück serviert wird. Dank Entfeuchtungs- und Lüftungsgeräten in den Zimmern herrscht ein angenehmes Klima. Die Mitarbeiter sind super freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit - ein Service den man sonst so eher in 5-Sterne Hotels findet. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das tolle Frühstücksbuffet. Mit Käse, S*****en, frischen Tomaten usw. unterscheidet es sich vom herkömmlichen italienischen Frühstück. Wir können das Hotel nur empfehlen und werden es bei unserem nächsten Matera Besuch sicher wieder buchen.

I stayed at Hotel Nazionale-Matera while visiting family for 9 nights with my son. My wife recommended this hotel based on her stay a few weeks earlier when she visited Matera with friends. She knows how fussy I can be, so she knows if I didn't like it, she would be hearing about it for quite awhile. The hotel is in a great location, modern, and safe. The room was sleek, clean, and housekeeping came every day. The beds were comfortable and extra blankets and pillows were available. The breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of options-eggs, sausages, rolls, toast, pastries (lots of delicious pastries), fruit, juice, coffee, etc. I looked forward to going there each morning. The hotel staff was professional, friendly and very accommodating. We had to leave very early on our last day to catch an early flight and they arranged for a bagged breakfast for us. We enjoyed cocktails in the bar and sitting on the patio was an extra plus. After 9 nights you'd think I would have at least one negative take away, but I don't.

Diese Masseria befindet sich etwa 10 Minuten Fahrt vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Es ist eine bequeme Lage, mit Supermärkten und Gasstationen in der Nähe und auch nahe der Autobahn. Der Ort ist großartig, ein altes Gebäude mit viel Geschichte hinter dem, das renoviert und in ein Hotel/Gasthaus umgewandelt wurde, mit einem schönen Außenpool und Garten. Leider fand ich das Management sehr unerfahren - außer für Enzo auf der Rezeption, die von dem Tag, an dem wir ankamen, über und über unsere Erwartungen ging, und bietet viele gute Vorschläge für Orte, um zu besuchen, Restaurants und Geschäfte und immer bereit, uns zu helfen und uns zu begrüßen. Der Rest des Personals ist entweder sehr jung oder scheint nicht bereit für die Aufgabe, die sie zu erfüllen. Sie haben auch ein Restaurant im Inneren, verwaltet von anderen Besitzern, wo wir überhaupt keine gute Erfahrung hatten. Wir hatten dort einen Abend Abend zu Abend. Die Nahrungsmitteloptionen waren sehr begrenzt (und spiegelten nicht das auf dem Menü wider), die Nahrung war durchschnittlich und der Service schien improvisiert. Als wir den Kellner bezahlt haben, hat er unsere Rechnung mit einem manuellen Rechner zusammengefasst und konnte sich nicht einmal die Preise der Gerichte im Menü (er sah sich eine harte Kopie davon an) erinnern - etwas, das ich hielte für witzig und nie zuvor gesehen! Auch schlechtes Preis-Qualitäts-Verhältnis - Sie können etwas viel besser für einen besseren Preis in Matera finden. Insgesamt, OK Zimmer und Apartments, auch wenn nicht perfekt sauber, und OK Frühstück auch. Ich würde jedoch nicht zurück zu diesem Masseria gehen, da ich sicher bin, dass es bessere Orte in Matera zum gleichen Preis. Ein Trauer wegen der schönen Lage, die sie haben!

We arrived by car at this new, modern hotel. We could easily park the car in one of the free parking spaces in the fenced area in front of the impressive building. At the reception we were welcomed by a lady who was top friendly and super professional at the same time. When we checked in, we immediately felt warmly welcome. We were given valuable tips for our stay in the city, and we were also helped to book a table for dinner when seats in the restaurants were scarce because of the weekend. The spacious rooms have a creative design. At the same time, they are very homely. Everything is absolutely clean. The beds are comfortable with pleasant pillows. Air conditioning and rain shower are of course also part of the great equipment. At breakfast, we were equally welcomed by brilliant staff who complemented the rich, high-quality buffet with perfect service. We will be back!
