Evenia Olympic Palace

Since the hotel is connected to 3 other Evenia's, it was too crowded at the pools mainly! During dinner the same. Kids pool area is at Evenia Olympic, main pool connects Park & Olympic and another pool area for Palace. Several snack bars at each area. Enough to eat during the day but variety stays same. We didnt expect also a lot... Mini club is big with gaming consoles for bigger kids, and also play areas for small kids. Mini disco area and shows at night is small and the bars crowded at night. Bar at Palace where we stayed closed during night! In Overall, it was a good stay but defenitely the hotel rooms might need a renovation. The beds rather uncomfortable as the matresses are thin in my opinion. For a short stay of 5 nights is doable. The people working there are very friendly and nice! Speak English and try to help a lot. Most negative aspect is the parking around. Almost no space available. First days hotel parking was full but we got a place later. The first thing to mention is that we actually booked the Suites via Jet2 and with no warning were told we’d been “upgraded” to the Palace upon arrival. This came as a bit of an annoyance at first. It could be problematic for people who specifically like the Suites but as we hadn’t been before we went with it. The Palace appeared half shut. Bar closed, restaurant closed, pool bar closed and the pool even not available some days due to private events. If I had paid to stay there, I would have been quite annoyed. Saying that, the rooms were nice and clean and the hotel has a nice ambience to it and as a result was nice and quiet. We were allocated to the Coral restaurant which we really liked. A good choice of food, lots of meats, fish. Fresh fruit and veggies and also the usual stuff like pizza and chips and kids stuff. It was one of the better all inclusive offerings I’ve experienced. On the last night this restaurant was closed and we had to go to “Cadi” restaurant - oh my life, chaos and the noise was awful!! The main pool and kids pool and slides are brilliant. Snack bar great. Mini club was excellent for our 2 year old boy. Mini disco was enjoyed also by him and his cousin. Didn’t find queues too bad for bars and a nice choice of drinks too. The all inclusive ice cream truck and magnums, twisters etc. was also nice for the kids. All in all we had a brilliant holiday and will definitely return but have to be aware it’s a bit of a “lucky dip” which actual hotel and restaurant you get! The staff are friendly-ish, I’ve experienced more friendly staff elsewhere. There were a lot of Spanish people there for an event and they definitely didn’t like tourists, but I suppose you can get that anywhere. We will return.

Overall a good stay but needs more shade around pools and a better system for sun beds. House keepers do a great job in keeping room clean during stay.

Travelled as a family August 24, we ended up leaving for an air bnb as the hotel was SOO busy, we couldn’t hear each other speaking in the restaurant. It was a shame to spend our week together feeling like we were ‘getting through’ Was possible to get a sun bed at 8 in the morning to reserve for the day, but the pools were very very very busy ALL DAY Food was ok, plenty of choice but not high quality. And queues were very stressful,

The hotel room was dated and repairs here and there were in order. The should have been a little more clean at the beginning. Among other things, there was hair under the bed of previous guests. First vacuuming and then with a wet mop had resulted in a clean room. On the walls at the beginning there were squashed flies, stripes, sun cream spots, etc. The food was varied, abundant, tasty and thematic. The drinks were very good with silver wristband. The meal times need updating. These were at 8h00 - 10h00 (breakfast), 13h15 - 15h00 and 19h30-22h00. 19h30 Is much too late as a start time for small children. The children's disco at 21h15 lasting until 21h45 is also much too late for small children. It would be better at 20h30 followed by the other activities (22h00 now) that also turn out to be for children (the theater with the minions for example). The pools were spacious, very well equipped and the many water slides were highly appreciated by the children. The 2 beaches are about 1 km steps which is doable but actually a little too far. When we went on day trips we received a picnic meal from the hotel which we greatly appreciated. Upon arrival at the hotel the first night we also received this. 8/10

We have been to this hotel 5 years running and think it's great. Kids know the layout and feel safe and happy, the pools are brilliant and the food is good for the price. Everything you need is in the compound and if you wanted to walk into town it's less than 10 minutes away. I've seen other reviews that complain about lack of deck chairs and I have to say one of us gets up at 6 every day to go reserve some by putting towels down. There is a system that if they notice the chairs still 'reserved' by 10:30 the towels are removed. Doing this we had chairs every day of our holiday with no issue. There are also available spots throughout the day but if you're expecting to come down to the pool at mid-day and find 4-5 chairs together then you will be disappointed. The bar staff are very generous with their pouring so pay attention and tell them if you want less alcohol in your drink as if you're not careful you will end up with half a cup of spirit to half a cup of mixer which is great from a value perspective but as I'm nearing my 40s and traveling with wife and kids I don't particularly want strong drinks. Staff are always happy to oblige. The one thing I wish management would change is for there to be a place to get coffee prior to 8am. Restaurants open for breakfast at this time and if you're an early riser there is nowhere to get a coffee before this time. There is also nowhere to get a drink (other than water) between 8:00-10:30 other than the restaurant so if you've eaten early there will be a wait until you can get a drink. The water station by the entertainment area seems to be open 24/7.
