Chrysalis is a stilish boutique hotel with an amaising seeview and a wonderful team ,who took care of us.We travel a lot and I can really say ,this was one of the most beautiful vacations .The time spent in Astypalea was like a Haruki Murakami fantastic novel.Kindly thanks to Nikos an all his colleagues !

Without a doubt one of the best, if not the best, hotels I've ever stayed in. I travel a lot but this hotel was just a different level for so many things, but where it excels beyond any other hotel, were the absolutely wonderful staff. They were the loveliest, kindest, most helpful hotel staff I've ever met. Nikitas was so so so sweet to us, and from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, he was the absolute best. The two wonderful ladies who worked on the front desk and at breakfast were also amazing. They really made us feel so welcome and at home. From all of Nikitas' and their recommendations on beaches, and places to eat, to helping us with car rentals and so on: they just went above and beyond and always with a smile! The breakfast!!! Wow!!!! Probably the best breakfast with the best view from the breakfast table anywhere in the world!!! The breakfast itself was so delicious with so many choices. I loved that you could choose it the night before. The views!!! Just incredible. Such a beautiful direct view of the ocean. The rooms!!!! So clean and stylish and with a lovely little balcony. The extra stuff!!! Hotel gave us beach towels and a big beach umbrella during our stay. That was SO HELPFUL!

We spent an unusual holiday at Chrysalis: 2 weeks in which we were looked after, in which every need was met immediately and we received all possible help in finding beaches, restaurants or activities. And always with a smile. Thank you Marina and Anna for the many good tips, thank you Lukas, who served us our breakfast every morning and good drinks in the evening. Other hotels on Astypalea may be more luxurious, but the Chrysalis has something special: people who treat their guests like family. Many thanks also to Maria, who created this refuge!

A beautiful hotel with great design and lay out, ensuring all rooms and terraces profit from the fantastic view. We loved the lighting, the view from the terrace, the exceptionally clean rooms with lovely bedding and towels. The privacy, discretion and quiet were really appreciated, and it was also lovely not to feel like we had to rush out to vacate the room for cleaning (and often it wasn’t easy leaving the luxury of that view with coffee and reading on the terrace!) A couple suggestions - some more dairy free and gluten free options and fruit variety for breakfast would be great (know it can be tricky getting supplies to the islands but there are some very well stocked supermarkets). The early breakfast for an early flight departure for example, which is a lovely touch, was gluten based so couldn’t eat it. The shutters were missing with blinds instead so we missed the blackout effect, but hung a towel up so that was fine. Smells travelled through the air con between rooms, was usually ok, but some unpleasant perfumes in our first couple days which fortunately departed. The dark bathroom was tricky at first but we got used to it! The daily dessert offered in the afternoon was a nice touch and we felt bad declining everyday, but was either too sugary for us or with gluten/cow’s milk. We would much prefer some complimentary fruit or a daily bottle still/sparkling water in the fridge/room. We thank Anna, Marina and Nikita on reception for helping us have such a wonderful, healthy and relaxing holiday. Particular thanks to Anna for helping with the hire car and very good advice for a nervous driver/passenger on the cliff roads and tracks of the island!) And Nikita’s map was really useful thanks. And also a big thank you to the cleaning staff and room service team, the cleaning really was exceptional and what a luxury having breakfast delivered to our terrace every morning. Thanks to Marina and all the team for such a lovely stay, and apologies for delay with review - today on a dark, cold wintery day in UK we definitely wish we were back there now!

We have been to Chrysalis for a second time and it was as magical as our first stay 4 years ago. Everybody is super lovely and helpful, Marina and her team are just amazing!! The view out of the balcony is breathtaking, amazing breakfast. Rooms super clean and nice interior. We celebrated our wedding at Chrysalis and had our absolutely dream wedding!!! It’s our favorite hotel at the island, feels like home, a place where you can relax your mind. Big thanks to the whole team, we will come back every year = )

First time in Astypalea .. no connection to the hotel .. so here is my honest view :- A very well managed small hotel with a beautiful terrace looking at Chora bay. The room was comfortable and well designed .. staff was very attentive and polite .. Breakfast is beautiful and you have a choice every day to order from the night before ! .. First time I felt the need to tip hotel staff and I been to many Greek islands ! Mbravo to the staff .. Overall a wonderful experience !

Amazing boutique hotel with super friendly staff located in a strategic area with best view possible to the Chora and the see. Spacious room with all amenities and beautiful terrace. The manager, Marina, is very helpful in respond to all the request always with a smile and the good suggestion. The rest of the staff is kind and the welcome at the arrival and every day is a gift!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this charming place! We stayed for 7 nights, and the team made us feel extremely welcome and like treasured friends. Anna, Marina and Niko at the front desk were always so welcoming from the day we arrived, and helped to arrange absolutely anything we needed... and the afternoon treats were always a highlight! Breakfasts were fresh and delicious, what a luxury to eat in our room, overlooking the glorious bay. Thank you to Lucas for your cocktails, we enjoyed them all :) The room itself was stylish, with comfortable beds and a lovely, warm space. Also, a dark facecloth to remove makeup at the end of the day was a brilliant inclusion. Thanks again to the entire hotel team for such a warm reception and for all the recommendations to make our trip that much more special. This was our 2nd trip to Astypalea, but I know now where we'll be staying from now on... I'll be booking our next trip very soon! ＜3 Dan & Jules

Saved from an unfortunate experience at another establishment, Chrysalis turned our holiday from a disaster into a dream. From the moment we stepped foot into this oasis, we were met with warmth and hospitality beyond compare. Their generosity was exemplary; in honor of my partner's 40th birthday, they surprised us with an upgrade to a breathtaking junior suite. The room was exquisite, offering a harmony of luxury and comfort, and the views were nothing short of spectacular - an absolute feast for the eyes. Every morning started with a gastronomic delight. Breakfast at Chrysalis is a meal to remember, with the freshest ingredients that seemed to have been kissed by the Aegean sun. You have the choice of having it served in your room or on their terrace that offers an unrivaled panoramic view of the blue sea - a sight that continues to be etched in our hearts. Chrysalis made our holiday extra special by booking us a table at their sister restaurant, Ducato, located in the heart of the town. There, we savored one of the best meals on the island. And to top it off, a delightful birthday cake was arranged for my partner. The personal touches didn't go unnoticed. But the true highlight of our stay was Marina, the hotel manager. Her elegance, grace, and effervescence permeate the entire hotel. She embodies the very essence of Greek hospitality, always going the extra mile to ensure guests feel welcomed and cherished. This was our first time on Astapalalia. The hotel is in a perfect location in town. Less than 5 minute walk to the beach in town. From the moment we checked in we felt like we a part of the hotel family. Mary was incredible. After offering us a dessert and coffee, she pulled out a map and reviewed all of the highlights of this beautiful island and helped us plan our beach trips, lunches, dinners and road trips! She then ensured that each day we chose the delicious offering s for breakfast the following day. It was so nice waking up to coffee served on our balcony. We loved room 13. It sits just above the water and has spectacular views of the city and port and Aegean Sea!!! The room has a beautiful bathtub with amazing views. Loved the bed and sitting area. Very spacious and well air conditioned. Spotlessly cleaned daily with attention to detail The staff were truly amazing and made sure their guests were happy and well looked after ……Thanks mary and maria for your warm smiles and kind hearts We will miss you , the fabulous ( best on island)hotel and the island itself. The third Mary (owner of the hotel) was present every day in the lobby greeting guests actually came and went on their daily excursions. It was obvious that this hotel was her pride and joy and it certainly showed! Cant wait to return :)

We stayed at chrysalis for 5 nights and enjoyed every moment of it. The staff was very polite and professional and gave their best so we would have a smooth stay. The hotel is very very convinient, located just 10’ walking from all the restaurants and bars, yet is very quiet. We had to change room during our stay and the view from both of the rooms was breathtaking. (We stayed in the traditional suite and the deluxe room) We didn’t feel like leaving our room’s balcony, simply because the view of the castle and the sea was one of the best we got in the island. I would definitely recommend it! Very clean, polite and friendly people, tasty breakfast, beautiful rooms and unique view.

We stayed here for 3 nights during a recent island hopping trip and could not fault this hotel.Everything about our stay was excellent! It is in a great location with views of the harbour and backdop of the old town, castle and windmills. It's also close to the beach and shops and restaurants. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay including breakfast on our balcony every morning and sweet treats left in our fridge. The staff here are all excellent and extremely helpful. I had to change our booking three times prior to arrival due to problems with ferry connections and it was never a problem. Complimentary transport to and from the port was included. We will definitely stay here if ( when) we return to Astypalea.
