Ensueño Holbox & Beach Club

This place is absolutely AMAZING. From the staff to the comfort of the rooms. There is nothing bad to say about this quaint place. My kids and I have been coming here for the past 3 years, and I can not get enough of this place. Its always a pleasure seeing all the familiar faces and having their trust. This time around we stayed for 11 days at Ensueno. Their beach club, is wonderful. The vibes, the views, drinks, snacks, breakfast everything about Ensueno and Carolinda Beach Club are exquisite. Already booked for next year. Can not wait.

Overall our stay was good. The pools were nice, the beach club was perfect the staff there very attentive. Rooms on the ground floor are very dark. Much better on upper floors. Breakfast is decent with bread pancakes and fruit with granola. You can order eggs at extra cost. WiFi not working in rooms

Start to finish, a beautiful place. Grounds are gorgeous and kept so prestine. Front desk was awesome ( sorry I forgot his name) He was so helpful with everything. Got us hooked up with a cab that we used the whole time as it had rained so much the streets were flooded and you could not walk them. Breakfast included, delicious,,,, It was a quiet place, no TV but, surprise.... it was Ok. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

I stayed at the Ensueno Holbox & Beach Club for a week in July. Our primary reason for visiting Isla Holbox was two experience the Whale Sharks and the Flamingos. My daughter and I had a great time. The weather was warm but not as hot as I expected during the middle os summer. Our room was very spacious and the small kitchen area was very handy. The room was clean and attended to by the maid service daily. Fresh beach towels are available daily. The room was handsomely decorated with a local flavor. The hammock was perfect. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully landscaped and impeccably clean. The pool was welcoming and the rooftop pool is a luxury with a view. The front staff, Emilio, is very knowledgeable and about the area and helpful with arranging whatever it is that you might need. His command of English is impeccable.The rest of the staff are equally warm and friendly. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful especially the fish squeezed orange juice. The Carolina Beach club which is part of the properties a wonderful place to hang your hat or just enjoy the beauty of the ocean. They have beach chairs and umbrellas for the guest to enjoy. The food is excellent with ample portions. We enjoyed the cocktail of the day each day which was fresh and innovative. The staff are great and accommodating.Did I mention the view??? We did walk down to see the Bioluminescence at Punta Coco which was fun. Town is a short 15 minute walk along the beach. The hotel is just far enough to not be disturbed by the all night clubs in town. It is easy to navigate around town by taking a ATV taxi as this is a carless island. Highly recommend the Ensueno Holbox and Beach Club for anyone especially families with children. Couples will love the tranquility of the hotel property. The sand is safe and walking home late at night with a flashlight is easy. Holbox is a wonderful way to escape the rat race of everyday life. Wifi is okay given the remoteness of the island. My recommendation is to bring ample supplies of sunscreen and bug spray. The island is a nature preserve so yes mosquitoes are present. The beauty of the ocean offsets the nuisance of the mosquitoes. Rent a bike, kick off your shoes and just relax. We enjoyed every minute of this lovely oasis and will be gladly returning to the Ensueno Holox and Beach Club.

Pros: Nice place with large rooms, ideal for family. Breakfast is good, not too many options though. Simple Eggs are chargeable. Cons: far from the center, need to rent bikes or take a taxi ($13 each way) We didn’t have hot water. They have a nice roof top but we were asked to be quiet at 9pm. While not even having music or making noise. Wondering the point of the roof top.

Holbox is a beautiful island but also getting more busy with tourists. Ensueño is the perfect place when you want to feel that relaxed island vibe, away from the busy crowds. This is paradise! The staff is super friendly and make you feel more then welcome. They keep the hotel and garden in very good conditions. The rooms are nice and clean and all have a private terrace with hammock. You could really stay here all day long… oh and the beach club is definitely the best on the whole beach!
