The hotel staff is untrained ,the ac in my room did not cool.at all during my stay inspite of repeated complaints .food is ok .no knows or understand English language hence communication is a problem with staff..they should close soon due to poor service overall

We had a confirmed reservation for 10 people, 3 nights. When checking in at the lobby around 15hr30, we were told they had done an 'update' of their system and no rooms were available anymore. After I insisted, they called a manager (not sure if it actually was a manager), who listened to our problem, said he would look at it and then went away to never come back. No apologies, no compensation offered. Luckily, we did find another solution for 2 nights and Novotel confirmed us we had our rooms for the last night. However, after we checked in again, this time at 17hrs, several people of our delegation still had to wait for 2 hours before they had a room, others discovered the room they were given, still had other guests, and finally, some people suddenly had uninvited guests entering their room (so, these people were given the same room). For a Novotel, part of ACCOR, or even any hotel that asks this rate for a room, such things are just inacceptable. The contrast with the Novotel in Lubumbashi could not be bigger; there people at the reception are friendly, check-in is smooth and goes without surprises.

Clean and centrally located. Its relatively new so naturally all the finishing is still in its peak condition. I had a few hiccups but housekeeping and maintenance swiftly resolved the minor issues. Overall it was a good experience. The sandwiches at the coffee bar were delicious. Breakfast spread was good but can get monotonous for long stays. The restaurant menu as well.

Do not expect a Novotel standard Air conditioning never works They come everyday to fix it and it works for 1 hour and then turns off Seems it turns off when there’s no movement in the room assuming its empty So you would wake up in the middle of the night sweating Reception does nothing just keep on telling you “my colleague is coming” They keep forgetting to replenish coffee and when you request more than 2 coffee sachet to keep reserve for upcoming days they tell you that you have to pay You need to request every amenity that you’re entitled for 1 by 1 There’s nothing Accor about this hotel except the name

This is a good hotel. The rooms are well-appointed, the food in the restaurant is excellent, the breakfasts are fantastic, and the staff are very friendly. The restaurant prices are high, but not unexpectedly high. The restaurant menu is limited, so if you are here for a prolonged time, you will get bored pretty soon. But the food is excellent. I am a seasoned traveller, with 33 African countries visited so far, countless hundreds of hotels ranging from 15USD to over 500USD. I've stayed in places with absolute luxury, and places with no water, shared toilets, and no AC, so I have learned to accept and overcome a lot. I have a lot of patience and I don't complain easily. However, the Novotel in Kinshasa warrants some criticism from me. The service in the hotel is way below the standard I expect from a hotel like this. It's not that the staff are unhelpful, because they are, it's just that everything here is so imprecise and inconsistent. One day you get two bottles of water in your room, the next day one, and the next day none. You get two towels one day, and none the next. One day there's one towel, and no toilet paper. The upstairs bar staff are terrible. You can wait 20 minutes for someone to ask what you'd like to order, and then it takes 20 minutes for a simple beer to arrive. They don't pay attention to you at all, and will often walk straight past you to serve someone else. A simple snack took aver an hour an a half one evening, and the place was not even full. I like to sit outside on the patio in the restaurant. Sometimes you get serviettes, sometimes you don't. There's ALWAYS a shortage of ashtrays. Table clearing is extremely slow. Sometimes tables are left uncleared for well over an hour after the table has been vacated. The coffee machines in the breakfast area are ALWAYS malfunctioning and no one seems to care. Every morning there is a struggle to get a cup of coffee without having to call a staff member to fix the machine. The bar prices for spirits are confusing. The only price on the menu is per bottle. I tried to get a straight answer of the price of a simple vodka and coke, and ended up paying USD60 for Beluga Vodka. Who on earth mixes premium vodka with coke? If there was a price list per shot, that would make much more sense. Then I found out that the hotel doesn't give the tips to the staff. If you sign for a meal, and add a tip, the hotel keeps that and the waiter sees none of it. I'm not surprised the waiters have no motivation to give better service. After I discovered this, I started tipping in cash, and oh boy, did the service improve! Anyway, as I said it is a good hotel, but there's certainly room for improvement which could easily be achieved with a minimal effort on the part of management.

The hotel is new and really quite a nice place to stay. Our room was well appointed, the bed very comfortable, wifi strong, shower had amazing pressure. Staff need training which is the reason my review only has 3 stars. Once they train staff to be more customer focused and not try to make them feel uncomfortable then it will be a great place to stay. Much better price wise than the other big hotels in Kinshasa.

J’ai dîné à chaque réveillon au restaurant Nomads de l’hôtel Novotel Kinshasa et tout était d’un très bon niveau. Les buffets proposés étaient très variés et d’une très bonne qualité. L’accueil au restaurant était très convivial et le service pareil. Le buffet du midi est aussi de très bonne qualité

J’ai passé un semaine dans cet hôtel assez calme et discret, très bon séjour le personnel est vraiment top. J’avais mes petites habitudes en commençant par le petit déjeuner avec un très bon sévices de la part de madame Zizina, j’ai également pu rencontrer le chef de cuisine chef Hasan. Il y’a un superbe espace au 9eme au bord de la piscine très relaxant où j’ai pu travailler en toute tranquillité avec une salle sport ou j’y ai fait la rencontre d’un certain Izac qui s’occupe de l’entretien des espaces public très sympa et serviable. Un grand merci a Naomie la femme de chambre la plus souriante !! Je reviendrai et je recommande ! Ne changez rien !
