River Island Hotel

Good location, rooms a little dated but good size. Lovely staff

Myself and my parents had a lovely three day stay in the River Island. From beginning to end, we were very impressed with the hotel and its staff. Actually, before we ever set out for Kerry, I was impressed with how easy they were to deal with when booking, and again when we had to change our dates by a few days. Check-in was easy and welcoming, and the staff couldn't do enough to help us. We ate in the hotel restaurant on two evenings and found the food excellent. They have a nice menu with burgers, fish and chips, bsngers , stir fries etc. Something for most palates I'll bet. Breakfast was excellent, self-service with full Irish, fruits, yoghurts, breads, and tea/coffee, well worth including it in your stay. The room was clean as a whistle, modern, spacious, warm and comfortable. Perfect except for one thing. If you allow the door to close on its own, the spring gives it quite a slam. So the noises from other room doors in the morning and night would lift you out of it. Pity that. The hotel is right on Main Street within easy access to bars, restaurants, takeaways, banks, chemists, etc. No oarking but to be fair, it's free on the street overnight and for 3 hours during the day and the free library carpark is a 2 minute walk. All in all we enjoyed the stay immensely and would be happy to book this hotel again.

Ideal location to visit the Ring of Kerry and Dingle peninsular. The hotel is atmospheric and quite quirky, rooms are comfortable with all the facilities one can expect, would rate it as good 3star, the staff are friendly, rooms clean and serviced. Situated in a small town with some local establishments featuring Irish music for entertainment.

Absolutely beautiful hotel.. the 3 course meal and breakfast was fantastic,, the staff were the friendliest people ever 10/10..room also lovely, I will definitely be visiting again in the near future. Also met derry fleming so a big plus for me

Stayed here for four nights as part of a coach tour. Nice hotel, great location situated on the Main Street. Decor on entering the hotel is quite striking. Staff were helpful, polite, professional and always there to help. We had half board here and the evening meals were very good with a choice of three dishes per evening. The bar area was cosy, intimate with a nice atmosphere. Breakfast was also very good with a range of hot and cold buffet style items to choose from. Rooms were adequate if a little dated and tired hence the four star rather than a five star rating. All in all, though we enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

This is an amazing hotel. The staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and efficient. The food was excellent and the rooms spotless. It was also the best value I've had in a hotel in years. Well done River Island Hotel. I am looking forward to my next visit already.

Listen up as I’ll only say this once , if your looking to enjoy all that Killarney has to offer, and believe me that’s a lot , beautiful scenery, golf, historic homes , Jarvy Jaunts around the lakes etc., You will not get better accommodation , hospitality, excellent food, and of course value for money spent , than the River Island Hotel at Castleisland a few miles from Killarney. Money saved on accommodation is better spent on all various attractions. ( and no I’m not related to the owner)

Nice hotel, clean and comfortable bed, rooms are in need of renovation or repairs. Shower tiles were cracked or broken and the bathroom sink needs replacing. Breakfast was good. Stayed here with Trafalgar tours - basic hotel. Middle of the road for my liking. Trafalgar could have picky a better place. Good for an over night stay.
