The hotel is nice and comfy. Budget friendly but the service and behavior of the staff are very good. We requested for early check in as we arrived very early in the morning. They got us a spare room to rest, until our room is ready for check in. Definitely recommended , in a place like thamel where hotel prices are sky high.

I love the private space and big room. It is clean and peaceful here. It suitable for rest and the manager is great. I definitel will visit here again if I come to KTM.

The manager was very helpful and quite determined we should arrange some trekking through him and his travel business. We had a comfortable couple of nights.

Super Unterkunft im Zentrum von Kathmandu. Die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten können bequem zu Fuss erreicht werden. Alle sind sehr hilfsbereit, freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sauber und gepflegt. Habe mich rundum wohlgefühlt. Bestens zu empfehlen.

Were happy to stay at Green Horizon before and after the trek May 2024. Location is excellent in the midst of the tourist district, in quiet cul de sac. Staff was attentive, hot water was pouring!!! bedding was clean and comfortable. Would return there again.

I don’t doubt the previous reviews were genuine but you can find better for the price. We stayed in separate rooms the first night and then moved to a larger room to share the second night, but the water was, at best, tepid in all 3 rooms. That’s a bit hard to take in winter. It is in an alleyway away from the road so it does feel like you can escape the noise of Thamel.

We stayed for 4 days in this hotel, before and after our trek. The staff is fast and professional, showers are warm and the room are nice! I recommend to stay there, the owner also as a myriad of plan and advice for you if you ask.

Perfect location where you can rest after noisy and dusty days in Katmandu. Clean rooms, hot shower, friendly and helpful staff. It was possible to leave extra things that we did not in the trek. For the very early leave we had our breakfast to go. Very helpful.

My second time staying at Hotel Green Horizon. First stay was six years ago. They’ve since added a restaurant and huge book collection. Food is really good. There’s a variety of rooms, it’s in a great location down a long driveway so it is quiet day and night. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. I emailed directly for a better price. Rooms are clean and well-kept. Very safe for a solo female too. Lots of good dining options nearby. Can thoroughly recommend.

I recently stayed here -- on and off -- in between treks. I can recommend it highly because, though it is located in the heart of Thamel (Khatmandu's tourist ghetto), it is actually quite peaceful. It's back a little alley (50 meters), which means it's away from all the honking horns, chaotic/weaving traffic, touts, etc. But it's not a dark, little alley -- it actually opens up to a spacious area in which the small hotel sits comfortably. The abundance of plants, decks and public areas also creates a decent atmosphere. (There's also a restaurant/cafe, but seems to be mostly only used by residents, perhaps because no one else knows it's there; light breakfast included with room price, or you can order a la carte if you prefer something else). The room was also spacious and the hot water worked. Some rooms have little, private decks, but anyone can access a couple of larger public decks or the indoor/outdoor common area at the bottom. The only disadvantage of the location was some vocal noise from a nearby school at certain exercise times. For me, a key advantage of the place was that they stored my stuff in a locked room, while I went away on some long treks (one lasted over a month). They are accustomed to dealing with trekkers, but it doesn't have the feel (or facilities) of a backpacker "dive." It's a relaxing place to hang out in between site-seeing and shopping in Khatmandu.
