I have got a really bad experience with booking a preferred Agoda Hotel which I prepaid. When I arrived at the hotel the owner told me he did not see anything and he never gets paid from Agoda. So he told me I could get a room but I had to pay again and even twice as much as the Agoda rate. I refused, he then offered me a ‘free room' in a different cheap Guesthouse which was also his, but I had to write a letter to Agoda I got a room. The owner was very intimidating and hostile. I found myself another hotel. When I reported this at Agoda they told me I won't get money back because I annulated. I did not annulate, the owner scammed me. I found a lot of reviews on Google from people who experienced the same. The hotel is scamming tourist for years, I reported this to Agoda and asked why they still have this hotel on there site and even as preferred supplier. I then get an offer for a refund of 50%. I refused, they then offered arround 75% in Agoda cash as a gift. I accepted a gift but still wanted a full refund, now they are still investigate it but I now got an email they do not refund anything. So it starts all over again. It even looked like they played the game together with the hotel owner. Shame on you Agoda, can not imagine Booking Holdings is behind this. Got the gift in Agoda cash after asking a couple of times. Found out what preferred supplier means with Agoda Hotels. You can get preferred supplier if you pay, the hotel then gets more publicity on Agoda. But it has nothing to do with good quality or so. I think if you pay enough Agoda won’t place bad reviews. Because all reviews over here and on Google are really bad and the one on Agoda and *********** are good. Strange isn’t it? This way Agoda and Booking facilitate this.
