!!!AVOID GREEN BEACH HOTELS!!! The only thing worse than my experience of this hotel were the engagements with the owner/manager, Yavuz. We were there 5-9 August 2023 and stayed in the suite with private pool for reference. This was by far our worst stay in Turkey and unfortunately we had to deal with a very dishonest and obstructive owner/manager (Yavuz). Turkey is such a wonderful place, but he ruined our stay in Kalkan. We had such high hopes, we were however very disappointed. My wish is to help future guests avoid our mistake by shedding some light on what this supposed “hotel” is really like and how we perceived the owner/manager, Yavuz. I’m going to list all the negatives first for the benefit of the public, had we been aware of these we would most certainly not have stayed at Green Beach Hotels in Kalkan: 1. Very small and cheap quality rooms with equally cheap fittings and furnishings. This was the smallest room we’ve stayed at in Turkey, despite being in the higher price bracket. The rooms just aren’t the quality one expects at this price point. For context, all the other hotels we’ve stayed at in Turkey, some more expensive and others less than half the price have been better (Room size, quality). Views and location were similar. 2. Generally just cheaply put together and furnished 3. Dirty in the nooks and cranny’s, looks clean superficially but dirty when you look closer - Seems to be a general theme of this hotel. 4. The Hotel clearly favours day visitors and the owner/manager (Yavuz) instructs his workers to block all the sunbeds closest to the sea early in the morning before the paying “hotel” guests can get there. The hotel staff places towels there (Not hotel branded towels, to make it seem like guests placed them there). Then the hotel staff remove the towels as day visitor guests arrive and are guided to the “blocked” sunbeds. We observed this every single morning from our window. He does this as he wants day visitors to want to use HIS deck by blocking the best sunbeds for them. Otherwise they might not want to use his deck as the best places have been taken by the hotel guests. And then he misses out on their spend as they will just go to another hotel sea deck. 5. Yavuz blatantly lies when bookings are made and charges more than what is on booking dot com in order to squeeze more money out of bookings. (We have all the evidence available, screenshots etc) 6. He then proceeds to be very rude when he is caught out and he will proceed with an endured bad attitude throughout your stay. 7. Every answer to any request is usually “No” if you’re a hotel guest, because he now has your money and no longer needs to keep you happy. The oppositie if you’re a day guest using his deck. 8. He was generally just unhelpful and had a very bad attitude (Probably because we confronted him about trying to cheat us). 9.
