Riu Dunamar - All Inclusive

The only good thing about the visit was the checking process. But just as easy as they check you in to check out was horrible. To set up transportation the lady was short and dismissive. The food was nasty and cold. The staff was unfriendly and not welcoming. I have tried a Riu for the second time recently and am not impressed. I won’t be back to a Riu. Not worth the money.

Excellent stay. Property is wheelchair friendly. Allowed us to walk and enjoy facilities with wheelchair bound guest. Outstanding staff member Jose, the person that places and arranges the chairs on the beach. Helped me to carry my husband to the beach from where the walk ends and he was able to enjoy the beach and be close to the water he loves!!!! Thank you Jose!! You made the difference!

We had a great time until day 6. On day six we got a new cleaning person that did not clean our room good at all. They did not take out the dirty towels, clean the toilet, or restock the fridge or coffee bar. On the same day a credit card came up missing out of my wife’s wallet that was in the room and we got a fraud alert of somebody trying to use it off the property. We addressed it with the hotel staff and they opened a claim. The next day there was a hotel worker that was peeking in our peep hole and entered the room without knocking. My family saw him and made a noise which caused him to turn around, and when he saw my family, he ran off. He did not have a rag in his hand, cleaning supplies or housekeeping cart. While we were still at the property, I met with an assistant manager who took the incident very serious until we left the property. However, after we checked out, we could not get communication in regards to the progress of the claim very easily. I had to email them twice asking About the claim. Days later, they finally replied, saying that they were very sorry, but there was no evidence that their employees took the card and that what the other employee was doing was normal protocol. I don’t believe that. The timing of these two incidents is was a coincidence. This was a great resort in a lot of ways, but this made me feel very unsafe, which is my number one priority when taking my family to Cancun.

Food was not good. After reading reviews upon arrival I can see how people get food poisoning. The shows are unorganized and sloppy. The rooms don’t have double queens but full sized mattresses and it’s hard to accommodate 4 people in one room. Some staff was not very kind or helpful but given the massive flow of people it’s understandable.

We had a great time at Riu Dunamar. The place is well mantained, the staff is very nice and the beach is wonderfull! An special shout-out to the entretainement crew!

i went alone to relax and get away from reality and that’s exactly what i got, appreciate all the hospitality they gave

It was a very nice property with front desk staff. Esteban was fabulous. I did not like the breakfast choices. Everyone does not eat pork. I did not like that Charly told me that I needed to learn Spanish when I asked him a question and he moved my coffee when I was getting my food, He claimed that it was closing when clearly more ppl were entering.

Place was too expensive for the services and benefits. Our family picked up tummy issues eating at the hotel. They did nt have much restaurants. Beach and pools were good though.

Property was nice and clean. Staff were friendly. Food was ok, nothing special or memorable. Beds and pillows were not comfortable and small. Dressers in room were tiny and couldn’t fit much. For a family of 4, it was super tight! Overall stay was ok.
