"Even I received a free upgrade for a night the stay was not so comfortable. First I did not find a pick up at the Airport to the hotel. It was not possible to reach the hotel by Phone. Second my room was far away from the elevator and the floor a deep carpet. Third the dinner at the afternoon was 40 RMB more expensive than on the poster advertised. Most of the buffet was a typical hotpot. The free Shuttle back to the Airport was ok, the rooms are exklusive and great, free Softdrinks, free tea and coffee… breakfast might be better."

"Wir reservierten das Kangyi Family Connecting Room und es war eine ausgezeichnete Wahl für eine Familiengruppe. Eincheckung war reibungslos, und das Hotel erlaubte uns großzügig zu früh zu prüfen. Auch wenn eines der beiden Zimmer noch nicht bereit war, lassen sie uns sicher unsere Gepäck verlassen, damit wir die Stadt ohne Schwierigkeiten rausfahren und besuchen können. Das Front Desk-Personal spricht Englisch, was alles einfach machte. Beide Zimmer waren sehr sauber, geräumig und die Betten waren sehr komfortabel. Das Zwillingzimmer hatte sogar ein Bad, während das andere Zimmer mit Gedanken für ältere Gäste oder Rollstuhl-Benutzer, mit unterstützenden Handschuhen im Badezimmer ein Detail, das wir geschätzt haben. Das WLAN ist schnell, und das Frühstücksbuffet im Restaurant bietet einen angenehmen Start zum Tag. Einer der Highlights war, dass das Hotel uns freundlich eine späte check-out ermöglichte, was unglaublich hilfreich war, da unser Zugfahrt später am Nachmittag geplant war. Diese Flexibilität machte unser Aufenthalt noch komfortabler. Insgesamt ist es ein großes Hotel für Familien, das sich nach Komfort, Komfort und einem zuverlässigen Service sucht. Ich würde sicherlich hier nochmal bleiben."

"공항 근처 호텔을 찾고있다면 진짜 완벽! 언제 도착하든 셔틀 버스를 제공하고 공항 샌딩도 해줘요. SUV같은 차고 저는 중국 번호가 없어서 Wechat으로 연락했는데 정말 빠르게 셔틀버스 배차를 도와줬어요. 전화하면 셔틀 보내준다고 해서 긴장했는데 중국어 하나도 모르는 저도 Wechat으로 해냈어요. 그리고 정말 깨끗하고 넓은 방에 스태프가 정말 친절해요. 공항에 물건을 두고 와서 샌딩 부탁드렸는데 물건 꼭 찾으라며 바로 데려다 주셨어요 ㅜㅜ 덕분에 짐도 찾고 제가 중국어를 못하는데 계속 번역기 사용하면서 제 편의를 위해 소통하려고 노력했어요. 다시 한 번 감사의 인사를 드리고 다음에 또 지난공항 인근 호텔이 필요하다면 주저없이 예약할거에요. 아! 이 가격에 이 서비스 말이 안돼요 그냥 DAY USE해도 만족할 가격. 저는 실제로 4시간 썼는데 그래도 가격 값어치한다고 생각했어요! "I found what looked like an engorged tick or bedbug crawling up my bed. The hotel is pretty and I booked it for 1 night as a luxury treat so I could get a good rest for my layover stop to another destination. My room smelt like stale smoke unfortunately, though I had asked for non-smoking. I paid extra on my booking for breakfast and had to wake up at 6am, eat breakfast at 6.30am and go to the airport at 7.20am. My room had a bathtub so I took a bath before bedtime and went to bed at midnight, I got up to go switch the lamp off at 1am and found this bug crawling up the side of my bed going towards me. I think it's either a tick or a bed bug, the body was full of blood. It had 6 or 8 legs, difficult to see but I took a video which doesn't allow me to upload. I don't have any problems with normal bugs such as spiders, but if it is a tick or bedbug it is a big problem. I was really worried there were more hiding inside the bed, I called reception for help and they looked at the bug which I caught in a glass cup. They apologised deeply and changed my room, so I had to move at 1.30am. I explained I was already tired and have to wake up early. In the new room I was unable to sleep as I kept worrying about bed bugs. I got up multiple times to check my bed. And there was a noisy couple next door talking loudly until very late so I couldn't sleep. For a luxury hotel you should not need to loose a whole night's sleep because you are worried about bedbugs or ticks biting you. Nor should be able to hear noise from other guests through the wall. I was extremely exhausted the next day and did not have any appetite. I asked if they could refund the extra I paid for breakfast because I couldn't eat it, but they said it wasn't possible. So I forced myself to try eat 1 egg and some small rice porridge but couldn't finish it. Really expensive to pay for breakfast and hardly eat, it's a shame they couldn't refund the breakfast considering I had no sleep. For a 5* hotel, I would like to have good rest and peaceful sleep. But it was not like that. The staff were very kind and helpful, but it's not so easy to travel here alone. It was not easy to book a taxi for the following morning to the airport and it took 40 minutes of assistance, the man was very kind and helpful, but the hotel should make an easier system for foreign guests to book taxi. When I first arrived in Jinan airport, I had no idea how to get to the hotel. There is no ATM inside the hotel so you cannot withdraw cash, and you cannot pay with foreign card to book a taxi. The shangri-la website did not provide any details for public transport. It simply said bus transfer was available but did not say which number bus. I would give the details here but I have forgotten the route name and bus number now as it was hectic and I was very tired, sorry. I had to waste a lot of time trying to ask for help at the airport as the staff did not speak English. Luckily someone helped me. The bus will cost 20yuan and take you into the centre where you will see the intercontinental hotel and a large shopping mall on the left side of the bus, get off at that stop, it takes 1 hour. From there it's only 5 minutes walk to shangri-la. For a big hotel they should provide easy instructions on the website to guests. The staff apologised deeply for the bug on the bed, and offered 10% reduction of the room rate. Although when I checked out no refund was given and they didn't mention anything about it, I think they just charged full price. Personally I think 10% is not enough anyway. Nobody wants to change rooms at 1.30am because of bugs crawling on the bed. I didn't get any sleep at all and felt itchy because I kept thinking about bugs and couldn't eat the breakfast. I was absolutely exhausted the following day so I was unable to do anything at my next destination and had to waste 1 day more to rest. Unfortunately not an easy experience at the shangri-la."
