Good and good location

Very disappointed to be writing this review... Firstly, their website is dreadfully dated and their booking system puzzling, even comically so. It almost feels like using the Wayback Machine... I tried booking five or six months in advance and so I wrote to the hotel to express my excitement for both coming back to Imabari where I once lived and worked teaching English in 1999, and also that I had always wanted to stay at the hotel, as I actually lived directly across the road from the hotel and always thought it so exclusive and luxurious-looking, and it was the talk-of-the-town back in '99 when they were still very new. I was willing to pay a substantial room rate for a Tatami Suite (approx. ¥30,000 per night for three nights) however was advised that they were sold-out for my desired dates-of-stay in March 2023. What irked me is that no alternative accommodation options were offered, despite there still being availability on third-party websites such as *********** and ******* for other room types, and there was no acknowledgment of my excitement and enthusiasm for wanting to be a guest of theirs' after so many years, or for any disappointment caused. This is terrible service, and not exactly what one would call 'growing the business' to reject a potential guest despite having other rooms and suites available to sell. We instead booked ourselves a wa****su (traditional Japanese tatami room) at Hotel Kikusui Imabari down by the port, which was cute, comfortable, clean, and looks to have had recently had a refurbishment of their guestrooms as the bathrooms while small were nice and new. The cost of this room was also about a third of what the Kokusai Imabari Hotel asks for their Tatami Suites as well. I still wanted to go to the Kokusai Imabri Hotel however and at least see their gardens and lobby, pick up some Imbari towels from the official store at the front entrance, and have breakfast in their restaurant. The lobby is very nice and it does have the grandeur of a Japanese hotel trying to be a European hotel without being tacky or dated, and it does appear that they have recently cleaned all the chandeliers (I'd read other reviews and this seems to have been a first impression for a lot of guests, so this was a nice surprise to see them dust-free). We had a look at the gardens outside and they were very nice and maintained as to be expected with Japanese gardens. So why the 1 star review? Well, we wanted to treat ourselves to what we thought would be a five-star breakfast. We were told to go upstairs to the mezzanine level and we met a nice lady staff member who advised that breakfast would be roughly ¥2,400 per person. No problem, that's fair for a good buffet breakfast. We were then however lead into a huge banquet hall with only a couple of dozen guests dining, which made it feel even emptier and more like a school cafeteria rather than a classy restaurant. Wirklich hervorragende Einrichtungen. Meine Freunde und ich waren so beeindruckt. Es ist ein Hostel, aber Sie erhalten private Räume, im Grunde riesige Kubiklöcher mit Blinden und Gürteln, um Ihnen etwas Privatsphäre zu geben. Einrichtungen waren grundlegende, aber außergewöhnlich sauber und komfortabel. Das Personal war auch sehr freundlich und hilfreich, trotz des scheinbar ziemlich besetzt. Meine einzige Beschwerde, wenn Sie es so nennen können, ist, dass das perfekte Hostel immer noch ein Hostel ist. Sie erhalten Leute, die spät in die Nacht reden, um Sie mit ihrem Mumming aufrecht zu halten. Sie haben Leute, die schnurren. Es ist nichts, was das Hostel wirklich tun kann, aber es ist etwas zu bedenken.

This place was awesome! The staff is very helpful with multiple complicated requests. The front desk girl spoke very good English, and was one of the most friendly people we have met in Japan. There is an Italian worker who is practically fluent in English. The rooms are, extremely comfortable, clean, with a lot of amenities for the location. There is beautiful surrounding scenery, with beautiful views from the rooms. I travel a lot, and I loved it. I can not think of anything they could have done better. Keep these people in business. I don’t normally bother with reviews, but I had to leave this. Thanks WAKKA!

We stayed here for one night in between our bike ride on the shimanami kaido. We choose to do the bike route in two days to relax and enjoy it. Room: We had a very good futon in our room. The decoration is very nice. It is clean and simple yet beautifull. Service: the staff is amazing here. They helped my boyfriend plan a romantic dinner in the restaurant opposite the hotel (also an amazing good restaurant!). Location: The hotel is in a good location on Ikuchijima. It is not that far off the main cycle route and the town is very nice to walk through. Not many people may stop during the bike route, but we do recommend it. It is important to also see the local culture and towns on the islands. Breakfast was served in SOIL and was amazing! You can choose for Japanese or western style breakfast. We personnaly prefer the Japanse breakfast. Their coffee is also quite good. The design of SOIL is very beautifull. We felt very relaxed during our breakfast. A special thank you to the hotel staff for helping plan our special moment at their hotel and at the restaurant. ＜3

7～ Vor 8 Jahren, als ich vor anderen Superhotels (Zimmer im zweiten Stock) war, dachte ich, es war sehr klein, der Eindruck, dass es sehr schlau war. Die Größe des Bettes ist ok, aber die Gepäckstücke sind mehr, so dass weniger Platz auf dem Bett gelegt wird, nur auf dem Bett gelegt werden kann. Das Badezimmer ist auch sehr klein und es fühlt sich schwer zu bewegen. Weil es einen Leibwagen gibt, kann es schwierig sein, wenn es überfüllt ist. Aber auch die Bequemlichkeits- und Speisegeschäfte sind im Fußabschnitt. Das Hotel selbst hat neue Gefühle und ein klares Gefühl. Darüber hinaus gibt es 18: bis 21:00 Uhr einen kostenlosen Alkoholservice, und es gibt viele Arten, die hier sehr zufrieden sind. Das Frühstück ist auch kostenlos, es gibt nicht viele Arten, aber wenn es kostenlos ist, danke. Die Dame hat auch Einrichtungen wie Kosmetikwasser, das Personal 々 ist sehr nett. Danke.

Dies ist die Gartensuite, die ich für die erste Nacht eingerichtet habe. Es befindet sich auf der B1-Etage des Nebengebäudes des Hotels, der ersten Etage. Ich mag es auf den ersten Blick mit Blick auf die Gartenlandschaft. Die Ausstattung ist sehr komplett, Luftbefeuchter, Bluetooth-Lautsprecher, Kaffeemaschine usw., sowie eine sehr komfortable mobile Hängematte! Es ist wirklich angenehm, in der Sonne zu liegen und ein Buch zu lesen und Musik zu hören. Das Hotel hat nur ein japanisches Mini-Lokalfernsehen, aber bleiben Sie in diesem Hotel und denken Sie nicht an Fernsehen und erleben Sie die schöne Umgebung! Ich habe ein zweitägiges Spa, eine Signature-Massage und ein Körper- und Gesichtspflegepaket gebucht, um mich zu entspannen und zu entspannen. Das Freibad ist nur von Juni bis September geöffnet, aber Sie können trotzdem nach vorne gehen, um die Landschaft zu sehen.
