This is going to be long ,so bare with me. Myself and my wife paid almost €2000 for 10 nights with a pool and beach view. This was our honeymoon and the story I have to tell is shocking to say the least Upon our arrival in the room at 5am I unpacked some jackets and jeans only to find a plate in the wardrobe As I removed I noticed it had half eaten food on it ,crawling with maggots Maggots !! I brought it to the reception and the half daft automaton behind the counter just shrugged Anyway ,moving on On the night of the 11th myself and my wife were enjoying a drink by the pool bar with a group of holiday makers ,we weren't overly loud or boisterous but enjoying ourselves and laughing The manager came up behind me and put his hands on my shoulders ( I don't like being touched) he said we had to go to the lobby in 15 mins which I thought very odd. We complied and moved to the lobby where we continued our conversation and taking some pictures The management stared at us the whole time like we were being obnoxious and rude Another couple who had arrived the night before came in from being outside the hotel and told us about a bad experience they had upon arrival. This really seemed to anger the management as he sent for his minions and now there were 5 male staff members intimidating us Not wanting to ruin our honeymoon I told my wife we'd go outside for a cigarette As we stood outside we noticed a melee occuring in the lobby with the male guest of the couple being surrounded by 4 members of staff I could sense this was going to get violent so I took my wife with me and attempted to settle things as we walked through the lobby I tried to be the arbiter of peace by telling the guests to go to their beds talk to their reps in the morning about this egregious behaviour As I walked by lurch (the managers heavy handed minion muppet) he pushed me in the back **Note : to this point I had not engaged with this man on any level be it verbally or physically** That was the first assault My wife stepped in telling him he had no right to put his hands on me The same man then went to raise his hand to my wife so myself and another male guest intervened to stop him. As I ushered my wife aside the same man then punched a female guest knocking her to the ground , so hard she hit her head on the marble skirting And attempted to knock a phone out of another female guests hand I took my wife and left at that point When we complained the next morning to our Love holidays rep Nina she was less than useless siding with the management When we asked to see the camera footage from the night before we were told there were no cameras in that area (this was a lie) as we saw cameras above our heads by the lifts. At this point I had enough and emailed my parents in Ireland about getting us a change of hotel as my wife was absolutely terrified of the managers and their propensity for violence.
