Absolutely amazing place and room. Not everyone speaks English but it was easy enough to communicate via wechat with them and the inbuilt translate function. The place is a little hard to find but only because I arrived at 2am and it was dark. But this shouldn’t be an issue if you come at a reasonable daylight hour. The place is also already within the World Horti Expo so you can just head out and explore during your stay. Service was amazing; I have a lot of dietary restrictions and they catered perfectly for it for breakfast, asking exactly what I cannot take and customizing breakfast to be suitable. Loved every second of my stay here and have been recommending it non-stop to my friends who may be going to Kunming.

Our stay at InterContinental Kunming was exactly what you would expect from a true five-star international luxury hotel. The property is beautifully maintained, exceptionally clean, and offers a peaceful resort-like atmosphere that feels like a welcome escape from the bustle of the city. The grounds are stunning, especially with the beautiful jacaranda flowers in bloom, which made the hotel even more picturesque. The breakfast selection was excellent, with a wide variety of quality options to start the day. What truly stood out, however, was the Concierge team. I would especially like to thank Mr. Smulin and the entire team for their outstanding professionalism and dedication. Prior to our arrival, they assisted with receiving several packages on our behalf. When an issue arose involving a missing package, Mr. Smulin and team went above and beyond to help track it down, coordinate the recovery process, and even arrange for it to be forwarded to another hotel on our itinerary. This level of service is rare and demonstrates genuine care for guests. Their responsiveness, attention to detail, and commitment to helping us resolve the issue made a huge difference to our trip. Thank you to Mr. Smulin and the entire Concierge team for your exceptional hospitality. I would gladly recommend InterContinental Kunming to anyone visiting Kunming and would not hesitate to stay here again.

It is definitely more wedding venue, more local oriented, very nice territory around, good for photoshoot and stuff , nice and friendly staff helped me a lot, but it was a bit confusing in general, like i booked it cause of hotsprings and outdoor pool, turns out you cannot use the outdoor pool and from all hot things was working only one stone bath. So basically we ended up in a very strange situation when 3 groups of people have or to wait in line to that bath or seat on each other. However Indoor pool was nice, big and clean, but bring your towel. The room itself is ...let's say not cosy and a lot reminded a changing room, probably cause of sink right next to the bed. So sum up, good place to have fun, massage, spa say, nice photos and so on, but maybe not a best place to stay for tourist.

Wanted a special place for some relaxing time together. Do not want to try the usual hotel in the city. After going through the photos, decided to give it a try. And voila….. absolutely no regrets choosing this hotel. The service provided was top notch, the staff are friendly, courteous and prompt. Housekeeping staff always clean up the villa to a level which I had no way to complain. Always willing to go the extra miles in providing personal services to the guests. The Villa I booked had a private hot spring and a huge garden which had the best view in my opinion. Every evening, we are able to watch the sunset in our private garden. It was really out of this world, couples must definitely try it. Everyday the hotel will provide a fruit basket and top up the bar counter with drinks and snacks at no costs. The ever-friendly staff (Miss Lee) even told me to let her know if there are any fruits I would like, she would arrange to fill it up in the fruit basket. She even check with me a few times if there are anything she could do to improve the stay with the hotel. Kudos to the management team for instilling this high service standard. Miss Lee even contacted me after I check out to ask for my feedback. Keep up the wonderful work. I will definitely be back. For this trip is filled with so much wonderful memories. My stay at this resort was incredibly pleasant. The courtyard boasts thriving lush trees, neat lawns and bright blue sky, creating a refreshing natural atmosphere. The private outdoor hot spring pool is wrapped in dense green vines and rugged stones, offering wonderful privacy for relaxation. The bedroom adopts warm wood-toned decor with soft, fluffy bedding that guarantees restful sleep. The bathroom features premium dark stone countertops, well-prepared toiletries and sleek lighting fixtures with refined detailing. Every area is kept tidy. The tranquil garden scenery, cozy guest room layout and soothing hot spring experience help me shake off daily fatigue fully. I will absolutely book this place again on my next trip.

The hotel is about 10km away from the city center. It’s located right across the road from the Dianchi Lake and very close (within walking distance) to major tourist attractions in Kunming. This is a relatively small hotel with an elegant and relaxing ambiance. Rooms are beautifully furnished and very spacious. Breakfast is buffet style with plenty of delicious options. The hotel restaurant offers an extensive menu for lunch and dinner and is open nonstop till late hours in the evening. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. In fact, we ate at the hotel restaurant all the time during our three-day visit in Kunming. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place, especially for leisure travelers who want to stay in a quiet area and be close to tourist attractions.

The hotel facility is a bit dated, there’re stains on sofas and chairs. Beds look pretty clean. The hot spring is very relaxing, just try to avoid weekend crowds. Staff at the hotel and hot spring are all very friendly and helpful. It would be great if buffet meal is offered for lunch and dinner. Overall, it’s a nice resort to relax and enjoy the hot springs.

Ich nehme mir selten die Zeit für ausführliche Bewertungen, aber fairerweise muss man sagen, dass das Hotel, seit es Hotel und Thermalbad integriert hat, einen reibungslosen Ablauf gewährleisten und extreme Schwankungen für die Gäste vermeiden sollte. Insgesamt waren die Hotelzimmer, der Concierge-Service, das Essen und die Reisefotografie exzellent, mit Ausnahme des separat betriebenen Thermalbads, das enttäuschend war. Der persönliche Butler und das übrige Servicepersonal waren sehr aufmerksam und verantwortungsbewusst, auch die inkludierten Reisefotos waren recht gut. Gästemanagerin Eva rief proaktiv an und fügte den Gast auf WeChat hinzu, um nach den besonderen Anmerkungen in der Buchung Details zu klären. Fotograf Tao Tao von Hengyi Travel Photography hat ebenfalls fantastische Arbeit geleistet und die emotionale Atmosphäre perfekt eingefangen. Der Besuch des separaten Thermalbads hingegen war eine Katastrophe! Da wir ein Hotelpaket gebucht hatten, besuchten wir das Thermalbad gestern und heute jeweils zweimal, und es war ein einziges Auf und Ab. Die Damen, die am Freitagnachmittag Dienst hatten (an der Rezeption und im Badezimmer im ersten Stock), waren sehr nett und spielten sogar mit den Kindern. Als wir am Samstagmorgen wieder dort waren, waren die Angestellten erneut sehr streng und drängten die Kunden, ihre Angelegenheiten innerhalb von zwei Minuten zu erledigen und den Bereich zu verlassen. Da die Temperaturen heute stark gesunken waren, wollten einige Eltern (mit Kindern im Alter von etwa vier oder fünf Jahren) vor mir mit ihren Kindern im Pool im ersten Stock baden gehen. Sie wurden jedoch von den Angestellten mit der Begründung „Nacktbaden“ und dem Vorhandensein mehrerer Außenbecken für Kleinkinder und Mütter mit Babys abgewiesen! Mein anderthalbjähriges Kind hatte sich bereits umgezogen und wollte auf den Indoor-Spielplatz im zweiten Stock. Als wir jedoch am Pool neben dem Waschbecken im ersten Stock vorbeikamen, wollte mein Kind im Wasser spielen. Ich dachte mir nichts dabei und half ihm etwa drei Minuten lang am Pool. Wie erwartet, benutzten die Angestellten wieder dieselbe Ausrede, um uns wegzuschicken! Es ist wirklich unverständlich. Lag es daran, dass wir im Hotelpaket enthalten waren, oder daran, dass unsere Kinder beim Spielen im Wasser versehentlich nass wurden, oder daran, dass wir vielleicht ein paar zusätzliche Handtücher gebraucht hätten, dass das Personal immer wieder dieselbe Ausrede benutzte, um Familien mit ähnlichen Kindern zu vergraulen?! Wir waren extra wegen des bequemen All-inclusive-Pakets hier, um Mama und Papa den Stress zu ersparen. Und das Buffet im angeschlossenen Thermalbad, das extra kostet, ist mit Abstand das schlechteste Essen in ganz Kunming! Kurz gesagt: Ich würde dieses Hotel trotzdem empfehlen, wenn Sie eine Unterkunft suchen; der Service ist insgesamt recht gut. Wenn Sie aber nur hier sind, um die sogenannten „Thermalquellen“ auf Xiaohongshu (einer chinesischen Social-Media-Plattform) zu checken, überlegen Sie es sich gut! Das Essen und der Service sind... nun ja, im Vergleich zu anderen Hotels/Thermalquellen derselben Kategorie in derselben Provinz wirklich enttäuschend! Positive Bewertungen sind nicht immer ehrlich, aber die Kommentare, die Verbesserungspotenzial aufzeigen, stammen definitiv von Familien, die die Probleme tatsächlich erlebt haben! Ich hoffe, Familien, die einen familienfreundlichen Thermalbad-Urlaub planen, sollten dies ernsthaft in Betracht ziehen! Wenn Ihnen Essen und Service nichts ausmachen, können Sie diesen Punkt überspringen!

Dieses Hotel ist einfach erstaunlich. Ich habe dort schon geblieben und werde definitiv zurückkommen. Besonders, weil meine zwei Hunde erlaubt sind 🖤 Was für die Haustiere Mutter ist sehr wichtig. Sehr sauber, Service lobenswert, Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit, heißer Frühling ist gut.
