We checked in to the Hampton Inn on March 11, 2023 for a two night stay. I know that every stay or experience can’t always be perfect, and I know some things are beyond the control of the management or staff. However I think there’s a problem at the Hampton Inn Hermosa Beach that might have something to do with the management. First of all they have signs all over the building that say “Making You Happy Makes Us Happy“ and “Enter the Happy Zone” however, I can honestly say I never saw one staff member smile. Not the maids, the kitchen staff, the front desk personnel, or the man I assumed was the manager. I made a point of watching for a smile the second day after seeing the signs. I never spoke to the manager. He didn’t look approachable. I understand we couldn’t count on a specific room but why couldn’t we at least request one? We were told if we called back the morning of our reservation we could do it at that time if such a room was available. When we did so, we were told all the rooms were assigned the day before by the manager. Now, that aside, I must mention that the top of the vending and ice machines on the third floors are disgusting! In room 302 The doors to the toilet and clothes closet don’t open without one being adjusted out of the way. The heater which sits right next to the bed blows cold air directly at the person sleeping next to it every time it comes on. We didn’t get maid service. We noticed there was no “Maid Service Requested” door hanger and called the desk to report it and we were told, “Just make sure you don’t put the ‘Do Not Disturb’ hanger on the outside of the door and the maids will clean your room.” It didn’t happen and so I was told to come down to the front desk if I wanted a washcloth and towel. Finally, the breakfast the first morning we were there consisted of among other things what looked like over-stirred powdered imitation eggs, undercooked sausage links, and bananas that almost two weeks later might still not be ripe. I think I’ll avoid staying at Hampton Inns in the future. I felt like it wasn’t worth the money.

For the first time in two years (due to Covid travel restrictions) we were able to spend Christmas and New Years with our family in Hermosa Beach. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites was the perfect hotel choice for us! It was located less than a mile from our daughter and her family and just a few blocks from ocean front and the Pier, less than thirty minutes from LAX, on the Pacific Coast Highway. Due to our extended stay, we spoke with Raven Charitra, Sales Manager, regarding our reservation and then worked with Danial at the Front Desk, who was extremely patient in answering our many questions. Fred was also very accommodating in answering questions and handing out face masks when we forgot ours and Carlos did a great job on the night shift! The hotel includes breakfast, beautifully handled by George and Delmi. It also offers free parking. Our grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed visiting us at the hotel and being able to use the pool. Needless to say, we already look forward to our next visit and staying here again!

Wir haben ein Meeresfrontzimmer im dritten Stock gewählt, da es eine Pensionsfeier für mich war und ein Freund so etwas schluckte. Die Freundschaft des ganzen Teams war großartig. Wir wurden immer gegrüßt, wenn wir das Hotel einstiegen oder verließen, und jedes Mal, wenn wir jedes Mitarbeiter passieren. Das Front Desk-Personal wird geschätzt, um wirkliches Interesse an uns zu zeigen. Plus dieses valet Team - Wow! Sie kümmerten sich um uns für unser Auto, für unsere Strandstühle und Handtücher und waren immer so nett. Ich habe meinem Mann heute Abend gesagt, dass das Team im Beach House Hotel wirklich ein Team ist und ihr Service gleicht einem gut ausgebildeten Ritz Hotelteam, aber auf eine versehentlichere natürliche Weise. Kudos für alle! Wir werden auf dem Strand und auf dem Strand für alle künftigen Besuche auf Hermosa Beach zurückkehren.
