I found this place by accident on google maps and looking back i couldn´t be happier about it. I came from quite far away to TAS for the second time, and with the limited time available, every location on the itinerary should be as "good" as possible. Booking BCT was a wise decision! I booked 3 nights and looking back, it could easily have been one more (next time!). This place is remote but very easy to find, only a 15 min. ride from New Norfolk. When you are there, it is hard to realize, that you are only 15 min. away from the next Woolies, because it feels very remote there. There is only one main road to follow until you arrive there, but the last bit is gravel and the road is partly winding and narrow, but luckily the chances of other traffic are very slim. Once arrived, i was welcome by Alana and little Rhudi, and i really felt welcome. Later that day i was picked up by the manager Steve, who took his time to show me the huge property before he fed the Wallabies, Pademelons and Possums. So many positive impressions.... Since i am old and spoiled i booked the family cabin, which met all wishes and needs: 4 Bunks, 1 Kingsize, fully equipped kitchen, fridge, microwave... 2 heaters which make it warm and cozy in colder nights. Just bring your own food for the length of your stay! But most important: the view from the bed (literally!) is absolut stunning. You can see the forest, the mountains, and sometimes even the wildlife roaming around the cabin. Of course you can also sit outside on your porch and just enjoy what you see. Phone reception is difficult, internet is available, in case you need it. The surrounding nature and wildlife were the main reasons for me to come here, and you will get an essence of TAS on this property: walking trails through amazing nature, wildlife literally everywhere you look. You will most probably encounter wallabies, Pademelons, and Possums. You have a good chance to see Wombats, maybe even Tassie Devils, and of course heaps of birdlife, don´t forget the night active critters - thanks Steve for showing me a Tawny Frogmouth ;). What can you do there? Either enjoy the beauty of nature around you, or take a short ride to various destinations, i recommend Mt. Field National Park, very beautiful! With Alana and Steve you will meet managers / owners who live their dream and you feel their passion in everything they do - truly generous and exceptional people, it was a privilege to meet them. Overall I enjoyed literally every minute and i hope that it won´t take another 3 years that i can visit TAS again. BCT will then be on top of my booking list. Thanks again for everything and hopefully until next time!
