Grange Manor

Staying with Frank and Mary was a highlight of our trip. We stayed with them for about 5 days and everyday was fabulous. Room and house was gorgeous, food was delicious, and their hospitality is unmatched. Highly recommend the manor for your stay! We loved it!

For us this visit was all about top class personal service. Mary and Frank literally cannot do enough for you. If we had eaten all the scones and breakfast we were offered we would explode! We dined in Kilkenny and were safely chauffeured by Frank to and from. This is an older and historic house and furnished accordingly but that is part of the charm.

My wife and I stayed one night at Grange Manor this weekend. Really enjoyed our time there. Frank and Mary were great hosts. We were well looked after by them. The peace and serenity of the location is second to none. We had an early start and our breakfast there set us up for the day. The house itself is steeped in history and the interior is a step back in time. really recommended

Never mind the other hotels/ guesthouses around the Kilkenny area, this is where you want to stay. Mary and Frank are wonderful hosts, they take hospitality to new amazing levels!!! The Manor is fantastic, beautifully and cleverly restored yet keeping it authentic and true to its vast historical past. It’s rather like stepping into Downton Abby on a slightly lesser scale, but with all the comforts of modern conveniences. The house itself is sitting on several acres of land, peaceful and picturesque. Its a unique and interesting house, full of stories and lore, with the comforts of modern day living. Go check it out, you won’t regret it!!!

Just superb. Words can't describe. Stunningly restored home, a real treat to see and experience. Exceptional host, her attention to detail was unparalleled, especially the breakfast- leaf tea, home baked bread and scones, still warm from the oven, freshly hand cut fruit salad. Faultless

God bless Mary and Frank, they did everything they could to make us feel welcome, comfortable and at home. Room was huge, clean and very comfortable. Bathroom was modern with a great shower. Breakfast was wonderful with Mary's tasty scones. Mary gave us some great tips on sightseeing in Kilkenny and recommendations for dinner. We had such a wonderful stay here and we felt sad to leave Grange Manor behind.

The first thing we noticed was the spectacular location - the home is set among 26 acres of fields. We were welcomed by Mary, who does a fantastic job at making you feel at home. After a quick walk around to stretch our legs, we settled into the Theatre Room with its painted ceiling, incredible bathroom, and view onto the fields. Ate dinner in the village that night at Mary's Cafe (a different Mary) - very traditional Irish food, with pints of Guinness from the pub up the street! Breakfast was made to order, don't miss out on the delicious brown bread (with plenty of butter!) Spent the day in Kilkenny - first stop was the Medieval Mile Museum, which really helped to understand why the city has been so important for centuries. After a short nap back at Grange Manor, Frank drove us back into Kilkenny for a great dinner at Campagne. We didn't want to risk driving on unfamiliar roads after splitting a bottle of wine at dinner - definitely a good idea. The next morning, another terrific breakfast, and Mary even packed a few extra scones for us to snack on for our drive back to Dublin. The gorgeous home, in a beautiful setting, coupled with Mary and Frank's warmth as hosts, made this a memorable stay!

Arriving up to the front of the manor house is a treat, as are the stunning and huge rooms inside. Mary greeted us and within a short time, we were tucking into the best scones I'd ever tasted! We had 2 suites booked , both of which were huge and beautifully decorated. We booked the taxi service from the house to Kilkenny city and back in the evening and Frank took excellent care of us. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and set us up nicely for the day and Mary and Frank made sure my Mum left with a few scones in her bag. The windows in our rooms didn't open, which is a shame, as it would be nice to have the country air during the night, but we all had a great rest none the less. Excellent value for money.

Everything was just perfect to the smallest detail. Such a luxurious and confortable stay on the Junior Suite. The welcoming scones and tea were delicious and breakfast was something else. I definitely recommend it.
