We stayed in Emelisse with our little baby for a couple days and once again we had a wonderful time. Stuff is nice and helpful and we recommend spa treatments. We had a lovely welcome from Jenny who planned our wedding in Emelisse last year. She arranged everything so nicely and we felt really looked after. Definitely staying here again when we are next in Kefalonia

We had an intimate wedding here in May and we loved every minute of it. Every aspect was perfect and we were very lucky to have Jenny planning it for us. Everyone at Emelisse was great throughout our stay and especially on our wedding day. We wouldn't have changed anything about our stay here. Thank you so much to all the hotel staff and to Jenny for making our wedding day perfect.

We loved every minute of our stay at this beautiful hotel! The location was ideal for a short walk to Fiskardo (free shuttle also on offer) and stroll to a beautiful beach. The hotel, rooms, facilities and pool areas were all extremely clean and great, luxury quality. The breakfast was amazing, and the onsite restaurant was perfect for lunch/snacks/cocktails and dinners. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to come again.

You have to stay here if you go to Kefalonia. I have just got back from a week to Kefalonia and can't wait to go again. Beautiful hotel, excellent location and the views are amazing. The hotel offers a shuttle to the beach which is only a 5 minute walk. They also offer a shuttle to Fiskardo bay every evening. The rooms were clean, and tidy but the beds were quite hard. Staff were really friendly, and the hotel just feels very relaxed, clam and Greek it was lovely.

Lovely hotel in a fantastic location with a serene, calm and relaxing vibe. The room was large and nicely decorated with a shared private pool. The main pool area is beautiful with lovely views and the large pool is perfect for a swim. The second pool is excellent for lengths so its great to have the choice. The staff are friendly and always there when needed, never intrusive. The restaurant is great for an evening meal and there was lots of excellent options at breakfast. Shout out to Gia, whose cocktails are out of this world - highly recommended. Its a very short walk to Emplisi Beach, which is completely empty for an early morning swim but does get quite crowded later in the day. You can also swim from the rocks at the hotel, which is lovely. The walk into Fiskardo is just 15 mins (there's a bus from the hotel to bring you to and fro if you don't fancy the walk). I am already planning a return visit.

Had a fantastic relaxing week at the hotel which I would rate a strong 4.5 star hotel. Views from the main pool and restaurant are superb. Rooms are basic but fine. Every member of staff is very polite and a pleasure to have around. Fiskardo is a 10 mins walk from the hotel down a navigable track. There is also a courtesy bus from the hotel to town and back twice during the day and every hour from 6pm to 11pm. We will definitely be back. A wonderful hotel in one of the prettiest harbour towns in Greece

We absolutely loved this hotel and were very sad to leave after only 2 nights. Such a stunning place! The situation of the hotel is amazing; with the pool area overlooking the sea, the path down the rocks where you can jump in from the steps. They also have sun chairs there. It was lovely to walk down to the beautiful public beach as well, where you also can buy ice cream, drinks etc. To have Fiskardo so close by was very nice. The pizza night was very much appreciated; good food, beautiful setting! We would love to come back!

I've really struggled to write this review. In the interest of fairness, I have therefore gone into a lot of detail to assist other future guests to ensure this might be the right hotel for them. To be clear this place has masses of potential, but they advertise as 5 star when it is really an average 4 star. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels, in Greece, and this is way below the standard we have experienced elsewhere. I’ll start with the positives: the hotel is very clean, our room was always spotless, the views and location of the hotel are stunning. The food at lunchtime and of an evening is very good quality and portions are very generous. The sun beds are super comfy, with proper deep comfy cushions. The orange juice at breakfast is lovely - I think it must be freshly squeezed. In fact all the food we ate was very nice at the hotel - with the exception of room service. The rocks area is just dreamy for sea swimming and views. What lets the Emilisse down firstly is service. Don’t get me wrong, some staff work super hard, but some appear just plain lazy. We arrived at 3pm and by the time we had unpacked and made it to the pool it was 5pm. We sat down and flagged down a waiter and asked for two drinks. Note - we flagged them down - they never, not once throughout our entire 7 night stay offered drinks to us or any other guests that we could see. The pool was about 50% full at this time and there were quite a few staff. Most were standing around chatting to each other or looking at their phones. After ordering, we waited 40 minutes for drinks and only then got them after I chased them up. Not a great start but we thought maybe it was a one-off. Sadly, it wasn’t. Staff seem to get very confused even if you do manage to order and on multiple occasions we witnessed them ‘losing’ guests when delivering drinks. The guests hadn’t moved, it’s just I think they take so long to be made and delivered the staff had forgotten where people were sitting! Our main gripe is the adults pool. It is a lovely area but there is ZERO service. No drinks, no food, just nothing. We sat here for 3 days out of our 6 and it was always the same. The hotel are missing out on huge revenue opportunity here! We would have spent hundreds of euros more across the week had we been able to order drinks easily. As it was, we filled our water bottles and made do with them. If they proactively offered guests drinks they would make so much money. We once went to reception and asked if we could have a coffee which was delivered, but we felt awkward and didn’t ask again and it was never offered after that either. What really annoyed us was most days, by 11am, the cushions and towels are still not put on the sun beds by the adults pool - if you want these, you have to go behind the unmanned and unused bar area and put them on yourself. They are pretty heavy some a struggle for some older guests and we found ourselves being a little younger assisting older guests. Not really what

Despite the number of positive reviews, I was disappointed overall with our stay at Emelisse. I didn't like the attitude of most of the staff- they were not as hospitable as I would have expected from a 5* hotel and were not accommodating to some reasonable requests. Examples include not being willing to translate what fish is on the menu and denying the option of having a glass water bottle at poolside (for safety reasons?) despite allowing bottles of wine... During our stay, there was a wedding ceremony at the hotel and without prior warning, they closed off one of the pools on the day and also a balcony area used for sunbathing next to the other pool. There was a coffee machine in the room , but you had to pay for the pods. The breakfast provided variety and fresh orange juice. The hotel has beautiful views and a decent gym. There are weekly pizza nights with a hot stone oven.

Overall excellent location, however certainly not 5 star anymore. A few areas they could certainly improve. Breakfast is a buffet and equivalent to what you could expect more basic hotels. They have a large number of staff at the restaurant/bar pool, but service is none existent. The restaurant was good for lunch, but for dinner one evening was poor, we ordered the catch of the day, which they had to return to be re-cooked halfway through filleting. If you want a 5* stay in Kefalonia this place doesn’t quite cut it. We stayed at FZeen before which was on another level.

We stayed here for a week at the end of August as a family of 4 adults. Our flight was delayed so we didn’t arrive until about 1am. We were met at the gate and taken in a golf buggy to reception where we were given cold water (much needed after the taxi transfer!!) and a picnic as they thought we’d be hungry (which we definitely were!). The view when we woke up the next morning was breathtaking! We booked this holiday to relax and we were definitely able to do this! Hotel was immaculately clean, room serviced everyday and the food was excellent! We were full board and all came away having eaten far too much!! The service in the restaurants was fantastic, from the team at breakfast to the main restaurant team serving lunch and dinner, everyone was brilliant. The staff were so friendly and attentive, getting to know names and what you would order, they all deserve a special mention. They were on hand from 7 in the morning until late at night and nothing was too much trouble. The free shuttle bus into Fiskado was brilliant and the local beach was about a 5 min walk away. There were lots of repeat guests staying and we can see why. The only downside would be people putting towels on sunbeds early in the morning and then disappearing until late morning/lunchtime. A fantastic hotel on a beautiful island - would definitely recommend!

the 3rd visit to this hotel Always a joy highlight is the hotel boat trip with Costa shuttle bus into town every evening fab breakfast/ great service only negative is having to reserve a bed by the main hotel pool early yoga class at 830 lovely gym small but ok stayed in 203 with a shred pool but as we were on the upper level rooms below seemed to take it over

Amazing place, amazing service, very nice food. We have been at Emelisse as family holiday. I won’t spend time in confirming the beauty of the resort and surrounding area. The amazing service is what I would like to comment on. The staff is very friendly and helpful. From concierge to room services and staff restaurant. Our son suffers from severe allergies to nuts, wheat and sesame, a challenging combination to manage. Emelisse has been excellent in managing the allergies, from breakfast to dinner, always able and to accommodate and plan for food suitable for my son. This is also a sign of excellent management.

It’s not a 5 star resort! The hotel need renovations. Probably 20 - 30 years ago it was a comfortable accommodation but not now. It necessary to improve reception service. Rooms was less than we expected. It’s a family hotel with a big problems.
