Das Ritz-Carlton wurde in den letzten zwei Jahren zum besten Resort der Malediven gekürt. Damit war schon mal die Messlatte gesetzt. Eine Insel, vor 3,5 Jahren eröffnet und für mehrere hundert Millionen künstlich erschaffen - sicherlich nicht ganz unumstritten. Die Preise für die Übernachtung - ebenfalls Rekordverdächtig. Mit diesen, durchaus gemischten Gefühlen, kommt man am Flughafen in Malé an. Spätestens in der Ankunftshalle verfliegen diese Gedanken. Mit dem Arrival-Service begibt man sich quasi in die Hände der Leute vom RC und darf sich fallen lassen. Mit einer tollen Yacht geht es auf eine 1-stündige Fahrt (mit dem Speedboot dauerte es zurück ca.45min) mit dem entsprechenden Service an Bord. Die Ankunft auf der Insel verläuft wie immer auf den Malediven, herzlich und nett. Unser Butler Ibbe holt uns mit dem Cart ab und zeigt uns die Insel und bringt uns gleich in unseren Bungalow. Dort wird der Check-In erledigt - alles digital, schnell und unkompliziert. Der erste Blick ins Zimmer ist phänomenal - der Stararchitekt, der die komplette Insel entworfen hat, wusste was er tat. Ein atemberaubender Blick aus dem Zimmer durch eine komplett verglaste Front in Richtung des Bilderbuch-Strands. Nach über 10 mal Malediven kennt man eigentlich diesen Blick. Dennoch ist es jedes Mal wieder unsagbar schön. Um es kurz zu machen - Villa, Design und Ausstattung auf absolutem Top-Niveau. Besser haben wir es auf den Malediven noch nicht gesehen. Die Insel ist einfach zu erkunden. Es gibt eine „Hauptstraße“ in der Mitte, die die Sunrise- und Sunset-Bungalows teilt - verlaufen unmöglich. Insel umrunden aber leider auch. Gerade das hat uns immer auf den Malediven gefallen. Der Spaziergang nach dem Frühstück um die Insel, dieses „Insel-Feeling“. Ebenfalls etwas ungewohnt ist die Tatsache, dass sich wirklich alles auf dieser „Autobahn“ abspielt. Natürlich wird man per Cart überall hingefahren. Aber wir laufen gerne - was bei dieser Insel manchmal einem Spießroutenlauf gleicht: Carts, Fahrräder (die jeder Bungalow vor der Türe stehen hat) und sogar ein paar e-scooter fahren rauf und runter und bringen Leute, Dinge von A nach B. Wenn es mal regnet (was von Juni bis August häufiger vorkommt) und Pfützen auf der Strasse sind, kann es zu regelrechtem „Verkehrschaos“ kommen. Die Restaurants sind ebenfalls Meisterklasse. Vom Japaner bis zum legeren All-Day-Beach-Restaurant, der Italiener (mit Chefkoch aus Sizilien) oder das Indisch-Libanesische-Restaurant Arabesque (Butter Chicken!!) auf der Nachbarinsel. Preise? Naja - ich würde mal sagen entsprechend. Die Tage davor im St. Regis haben uns schon gezeigt, was man erwarten darf. Die Nebenkosten sind und bleiben auf den Malediven für mich immer das Haar in der Suppe. Ich weiß - alles muss hergeschafft werden, zum Teil per Flugzeug, Schiff usw. - Alkohol wird hoch besteuert, etc. Dennoch geht es mir nicht in den Kopf wie ein „Catch of the day“ - also etwas aus dem Meer von hier - 80 Dollar (plus 10, plus 16%) und mehr kos

Die ganze Hotelanlage ist ein Traum, wie im Bilderbuch! Auch die einzelnen Restaurants können wir nur von Herzen empfehlen. Das Personal war vom Roomservice angefangen unglaublich herzlich und zuvorkommend. Man hat uns die Wünsche von den Augen abgelesen. Das Restaurant la Locanda ist unser absoluter Tipp wo alles gestimmt hat Service und Essen einfach Top!! Man hat uns sogar auf Bestellung ein Maledivian Breakfast serviert und zum Abschluss ein Tiramisu was gar nicht auf der Karte stand. Ein grosses Danke an Pasquale den Manager von La Locanda und auch Camila vom Team!! You are the best!!

I was really excited to visit the RC and had extremely high expectations. The RC staff blew them out of the water. It was our second visit to the Maldives and it was hard not to stay at our previous property, but the reviews seemed too good to be true for tried the RC. Communication before arrival was great. We were assigned a sunset room -- very happy with the room and amenities. The service is what shined - the best service I have had anywhere in the world. Very friendly and personal. The house reef/snorkeling is a work in progress, but we still found spots of great viewing. We were sad to leave, but hope to return with the full family soon.

Beyond amazing.. the staff has been superb, they have taken our experience to another level.. the facility is fantastic especially for families as the kids club with their amazing staff and activities made our 4 years old boy happy and the same for our 12 years girl.. they didn’t want to leave! Our butler, Maryam has made everything for us seem to be easy and doable, she did personalise every step of this journey and she has been always there for us day and night! Whenever we walked into a restaurant the staffs’ smiles would brighten up the space, they take good care of us and they make the kids feel so special.. This trip was a mix of friends and solo trip and I absolutely loved everything there. The service was exceptional starting with Maryam, Grace, Hishu and Shahzab and Naseem! I also absolutely love training and practicing tennis there with Luke who made this even a better experience The property is great and there is plenty of activities to do and go about your day there be it yoga, fishing, snorkeling tote bag paintings I also want to mention that we had a one year a seven month baby and the staff were something else with him and he absolutely having the time of his life with them due to there friendliness. Room are a bit smaller than expected and also the bed is smaller than expected however the view from the room makes up with that big time where we stayed in lagoon over water room Tip: never miss a sunset or a sunrise there

I highly recommend this luxurious resort for a luxury trip or honeymoon. The food is amazing, earning a 9.5/10 rating. While it may be a bit expensive compared to other resorts in Maldives, it is absolutely worth it. Don't miss their teppanyaki restaurant (live cooking) and the incredible dinner buffet on weekends. It's a truly indulgent experience you won't forget.

Below, I detail specific aspects and personnel that made our trip memorable: ### Spa Services The spa services were exceptional, largely thanks to Masseur Malik and Masseuse Vujeta. Their skills were evident from our first visit, which led us to request their services again the very next day. The tranquility and expertise provided a rejuvenating experience that set the tone for our stay. ### Dining Experiences The culinary team across the various dining venues, including La Locanda, Arabesque, and Eau Bar, impressed us with their dedication and expertise. A special mention is due to Eresta and Yogi, who not only served us exquisite cocktails but also provided an enlightening masterclass in cocktails and wines. Their knowledge and passion added a unique flavor to our dining experience. Transportation Services Both our pick-up and drop-off services were handled with utmost professionalism and courtesy. Shaan at pick up, ensured our arrival was smooth and welcoming. Although he is not expecting us yet as the team that emailed me just mentioned that the pick up is at 11am, although I told them I am arriving at 7am from a liveaboard. Shaan tried his best to grab our luggages and passports as he mentioned about the weather disturbance, that he is arranging for guests to take the seaplane at the monent. We mentioned having came from a dive in the last 24hrs and would prefer to take a boat to the resort instead of the offered seaplane. He tried his best accommodating our request by checking all the parameters of safety while making sure we get to the resort as early as possible. He arranged everything seamlessly and was able to get back to us with a solution in less than an hour. That was the best! He picked us up where we are waiting with our friends, he settled our bill swiftly by speaking to the waitress, not sure how he did it, we left and borded from where we were. He even arranged for that! On departure, we had to leave early from the resort, again because of the weather disturbance. So we arrived 2:30hrs before the counters open. Yaseen met with us and made sure we settled where we want to go have dinner. He assisted us all the way to the check-in counter and send us off just before we went to the immigration. Yaseen’s calm and polite demeanor made our departure equally pleasant. Their prompt and efficient service was greatly appreciated. Although I am surprised about Ritz not having their own lounge, unlike the Four Season’s and Anantara. This will be expected somehow for a really expensive resort.
