Wilderness Club

Not a 5 star resort or golf course and do not believe the pictures. This is what the lake actually looks like. The golf course was fantastic a few years ago but now there is no sand in the bunkers, what little is in them is not raked. Your ball will bounce on the greens while you are trying to putt. Every flag is white and nothing tells you where on the green the flag is. So if you play here play the bunkers like ground under repair, because that is what they are and once on the green count a 2 putt and move onto the next hole. 5 star price but 1 star everything else including the staff from the pro on down.

We had a group of 16 golfers come up for a 2 day golf trip. The accommodations were nice. The grill was closed so there was no food or drink available. What kind of BS is that? After everyone checked in we were told to tee off on #10. Thought it was kind of weird the the supposed #1 golf course would do that for a group like ours, seeing there were hardly any other golfers. When hitting approach shots on 10, we found out why. They had just punched and sanded the greens. I guess the pro shop didn’t think it was important to notify 17 guys when they checked in. Total BS. Not only were they just sanded, but they weren’t even broomed yet. There were piles of sand on the green. Every approach shot hitting the green flew up a puff of sand. Putting was impossible. The course should have been declared unplayable. We left the next morning after we had to drive 10miles to the nearest restaurant for dinner. I wouldn’t have played that course again if it was free. You go to a resort to enjoy, not put up with all the shortcomings. #1 in Montana? Ray Charles must be doing the ratings.

The resort property is beautiful. We were very disappointed to learn that the horseback riding and stables were no longer an activity available on resort and wished this had been indicated somewhere prior to our booking. The cabin was very clean however it was overrun with flies at check-in. It took our entire stay to kill them all which was somewhat disgusting. We also had to go into town to buy our own fly swatter. Our family time was significantly impacted on three separate occasions by the unsupervised young people/ adolescents on the property. I can only guess that guests are coming to the resort then spending the day golfing or otherwise occupied while their spoiled kids run around doing their own thing without adults. Behavior we experienced by one group of pre-teens/teens included swearing, screaming (including racial slurs) for several hours over two days down at the lake. While at the pickle ball courts one evening, we were essentially circled by an unsupervised adolescent female, dressed provocatively, for approximately two hours. We were not the only people who noticed this, it was uncomfortable for everyone. For literally two hours, this person walked around this small area, alone, making strong eye contact. The resort is too small for a family vacation when you're trying to avoid certain areas due to unsupervised young people behaving badly. I would encourage anyone visiting the resort to ask ahead about their policies around guest conduct. Be cautious when asking questions however, management overwhelms easily.

It was very comfortable place . Everyone who we contacted are so welcoming. It was very nice to stay .

This place is beautiful! The grounds were wild, but also very nicely manicured. We saw numerous deer and birds around the property. The staff were plentiful and very nice. Our room was clean and the mattress was amazing. We loved our stay and we will be back!

Two couples played 18 holes on June 24/23. Checked in at the golf shop paid our $169 per person green fee. At check in no mention was made about the condition of the greens on the course. Went to the range and practice greens, everything in good shape. Practice greens were fine and no damage what so ever. Went to the first tee, played the hole to the green. When we got to the green we all noticed that the was severe damage to the green. Straight lines of 1” wide grass was non existent, then 1” of grass. The width of about 3 feet, some type of equipment obviously. This was present not only in spots on the green but, sometimes the length or width of the green. Clearly had to be misapplication of chemicals or fertilizer. This was the condition of all 18 greens. At the completion of the round went to the golf shop only to find a cart guy there who could do nothing, pro and shop manager all gone home already. Called to talk to GM, not there, left a message, no call back to date(1 week). This is an honest review, feel the golf course was totally misrepresented, a bait and switch type approach. You’re better off playing Indian Springs or Whitefish Lake or in Kalispell. The greens were even better at the little nine hole course in Eureka. Conclusion: first and last time playing Wilderness Club ever, save your money, don’t get ripped off by this so called new owner. Only positives, Josh at the bag drop, super nice guy but didn’t mention green conditions. Shelley at the restaurant, nice gal, great service, tips reflect service.

This was the most beautiful place I've ever been. While I don't golf I had lots of friends and family use the course and it's incredible. They reported it to be some of the greatest golf yet. I loved the peacefullness of this resort and unique experience it offers. 10/10- will go again.

What a great stay for our 8 golfers. The staff at check-in made us feel welcome. It was a great experience from check-in, the accommodations, to golf, and dinner (2 nights). Dinners were exceptional. Our server, Ella was the BEST!. Will be looking forward to our next trip here!....and....The golf course was in super-great shape!...Love this place!

The Golf Course is fantastic — pace of play was less than 4 hrs and it is in great shape. The food at the Wilderness Grill is wonderful in a relaxing atmosphere. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. The views around the entire property are gorgeous. We also enjoyed the beach!
