Tierra Magica B&B and Art Studio

This place is truly magical. Otto and Barbara are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to accommodate. The Sol room is cosy with a lovely en-suite bathroom and a very cool balcony with hammock. Breakfast..what can I say you don’t need to go out for breakfast. Incredible fresh fruit, granola and eggs cooked to perfection. Barbara is also an artist and her work is on display to enjoy. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The hosts were terrific & helped us figure out what to do in & around San Jose. They were so friendly. The breakfasts were superb & so filling that we often didn't eat anything else the rest of the day. The room was simple but very clean with plenty of space to store things & with a nice, firm bed. We played board games with one of the hosts two nights in a row. Our hosts had great senses of humor & were an absolute delight. The building is lovely & we spent much time reading & relaxing on the verandah, watching bird- and plant life. Highly recommended.

We came to San Jose for dental tourism and Tierra Magica was really perfect! They arranged for us to be met at the airport, and our driver was wonderful. We stayed in #5 which has a kitchenette, a comfortable king size bed and a beautiful shower. It is spacious, well organized for two people who need to do a bit of work, and the internet was very good. The building has some beautiful traditional touches - like the floor tiles - while also being completely modern with well functioning everything! Lots of hot water, and a nice coffee set up. Barbara and Otto are gracious hosts and were very accommodating to our dietary needs - we had fabulous breakfasts every morning, and very good suggestions for nearby restaurants that were walking distance. They were helpful with all of our questions, and we felt very much at home. It is nice to be surrounded by Barbara’s art that reflects the magic of Pura Vida . We hope to return next time we are in the area!
