Très bon accueil la chambre était très bien l hôtel est en bordure de mer piscine agréable et personnel serviable

The hotel is extremely dated, although clean. However the pool & sun loungers were filthy. The food was mediocre but the breakfasts less so. The reception staff were hostile & unhelpful & although the hotel is 3 star it does not deserve such rating - people were regularly locked out of their rooms when the key cards did not work. However on a postive note the location is great

We had a very mixed experience at Hotel Roses Platja Plus points - It has a great location, on the beach with balcony rooms on higher floors having great views. There is lot of beach front activities including dining, shopping etc. The front desk was friendly to guide us to local sightseeing spots. The breakfast has a good variety and is served in a nice sunny room facing the sea. Negatives- We were given a corner room which was kind of small with the bed occupying all the space, but the balcony had beautiful views. Some negative experiences to highlight was the non functioning of the air con ( it was quite warm and uncomfortable at night), non replenishment of tea coffee sachets by housekeeping on second day, issues with hot water in the shower. We will surely not book it again.

We were loyal customers of the hotel. We have been there for many times. Due to the pandemic, we did not visit the hotel for three years and we were unpleasantly surprised by the changes that we saw in August 2023: 1. The buffet became meagre, especially of a dinner. You can see savings in everything. The menu of dishes became smaller, from the main dishes - fish, pork, poultry and rabbit. The menu has not changed for 2 weeks. They do not know how to cook rabbit at all, some kind of dried mummy. We did not see beef and lamb even once in 2 weeks. The choice of soups is limited, gazpacho, which was always wonderful in this hotel, disappeared. 2. The choice of fish dishes is also meager. There is no seafood at all, except in paella. 3. Regarding fruits there were melon or watermelon for dinner and apples. No peaches, no flat peaches, no grapes. This was in August, the time of the harvest. 4. The location of the hotel is really great because it is on the beach. The hotel has its own lawn under the eucalyptus trees, on which the sunbeds were placed. The lawn was always limited by a wooden fence and bushes on the sea side, which created a certain privacy for the hotel guests. We were very unpleasantly surprised that the hotel opened a through passage to the beach through this lawn in front of the hotel to everyone who wanted to, cutting down the bushes and opening a passage through the fence. The place became accessible to everyone and unsafe for safety of things. Previously a calm and quiet place turned into a passage tunnel. The access to this lawn, which belongs to the hotel, became accessible to everyone. If you go to lunch and leave the rented sunbeds, strangers immediately took it and sat for free for the rest of the day. In addition, strangers came to the lawn, just sitting on the grass and even with dogs. The hotel staff turned a blind eye to this, although previously outsiders were not allowed into this area at all. Accordingly, the trees now smell of urine, not eucalyptus. 5. The sunbeds and towels are now paid for, and the hotel saved on an employee who supported the sunbeds, cleaned the territory, and was a gardener. The sunbeds were given out by bartenders, who were very unhappy with this additional responsibility. In fact, if in previous years the lawn was always well-groomed, filled only with hotel residents, now there are 2-3 people from the hotel and a crowd of strangers. 6. There are no more entertainment programs in the evenings, they even removed the stage for this. Before that, the entertainment was every evening. 7. The once beautiful Spanish-style hotel has deteriorated greatly. The rooms are old, there are chips and damages on the furniture. The towels and bed linen leave much to be desired. The air conditioning system in the rooms also requires updating, as it clearly cannot cope with the load in the evening and at night, or the hotel is also saving on electricity consumption. 8. Good location, next to the beach and boulevard. We were able to store out suitcases there before check-in. On check-in, the hotel offered us the option to upgrade to a room with a balcony which we accepted. However, they did not inform us that the refrigerator in the hotel kitchen was broken and they rented a cooler truck with running generator that was parked just outside our balcony. Basically we were not able to use the balcony because of the noise and the hotel did not offer any refund. The room only has 1 electrical outlet and was missing a bedside cabinet on 1 side. The rooms are quite outdated and could use a renovation. Breakfast starts late.

Stayed with Rail Discoveries. This is an excellent hotel. Previous reviews have stated that it is tired looking but this is no longer the case. Buffet food with a good different choice each night. Rooms are of a good size and very quiet. Bar drinks are cheaper than nearby places with very helpful staff. Beds are comfortable. Had a small problem with the shower but it was quickly sorted. Could not find any faults with this hotel.

We stayed here for a full 7 nights during our first visit to Spain. As we entered the room, it appeared stuffy and hot. The A/C isn't powerful but sort of just works away quietly in the background. The old Spanish tiles, clay floor tiles and wood bed is a very traditional feel so do not expect anything modern and shiny. Having a balcony with a 'lateral' sea view was great! It was lovely opening the privacy louvred doors and glass doors every morning. Our balcony was a great space to sit out with a drink and relax every evening. The staff speak several languages and were always helpful. It felt a little weird to relinquish our passports when we checked in but they only kept it overnight. The most amazing thing was the daily housekeeping service! We got back to our rooms each afternoon to fresh towels, made beds, emptied trash. We certainly didn't expect this. The buffet breakfasts and dinners were extensive with so much on offer. Each night the food was varied and they offered both local Spanish dishes and international favourites. The dinner staff were excellent in their service too. Lastly, you cannot get a better location. Staying on the coast is preferred than staying more inland. The hotel is at most 5 minutes walk to the main part of town and all of the activities, cruise kiosks, tourism info office and all the shops, bars and restaurants. If we returned to Roses, we wouldn't stay anywhere else! The only thing I would love to see is the offer of beach towels than having to buy any. Certainly the pool towels should be made available at the front desk for use at the beach. When I did go to ask for pool towels, I was told there were none. Also, we had to deal with water going outside the shower tub everytime we showered and it became standard to use the bath mat and a small towel to soak up the water and then wring the towels out. The hotel should really consider ripping all the tubs out and installing non-leak shower stalls, especially in a dry climate that is more and more experiencing drought.
