Juien is our go to destination. We love the location. It is close to locations we frequent when in the area. We've never eaten there.

Ein schönes und traditionsreiches Hotel in der Innenstadt von Dubuque. Angegliedert ist eine gemütliche Bar und ein schönes Restaurant mit Ausstellung von Tellern berühmter US Hotels. Hier kann man gut frühstücken, da die Übernachtung kein Frühstück enthält. Es hat ein schönes Schwimmbad mit Whirlpool sowie einen SPA-Bereich.

Drapes had no wand to pull open or closed. Tv remote was sometimes unresponsive. Tv was a little blurry. Thermostat was not working properly. We went to breakfast one morning and there was no staff to seat us so we left. This property used to be top notch but has sadly gone down hill. We won't be staying again.

1. Room one was 80 degrees when we checked in, you can't control temp in room. Called front desk, they couldn't get room to cool down so we got moved to a new room.
2. Temp in new room was fine during afternoon and evening but at night they must raise temps because it was hot in the night and morning, had to call and ask them to lower temp in morning.
3. No one comes in to do towels or take garbage, there were 3 of us in the room and only towels for 2. At 5 in the afternoon I put our garbage and towels out in the hall, they got picked up at sometime but no new liners for garbage cans or towels were left/offered.
4. In the lobby you cannot make your own coffee, you have to ask for it behind the front desk, no decaf, and no tea options. Coffee pot in room was not of quality that I would trust using.
5. Only rooms with full kitchen have access to a microwave.
The location of this hotel is the selling point, been going there for almost 20 years but it's being to the point that it's not worth what you get for the cost anymore.

Loved the history of the hotel. Nice hotel over all. Did not like the train at 6am. But would stay there again

Great rooms and hotel staff was excellent. restaurant service was very slow. 10 minutes to see a waitress. 10 minutes to get drink order. Things forgotten of order another 10 minutes. Food was fine. It did not seems as though there was anyone in charge to move things faster direct people to handle the customers or they were under staffed.

Beautiful historic hotel with smaller but remodeled rooms. Two floor lobby with sitting area, bar and historic pictures is the nicest I have ever been to.

Hotel is in a perfect location with lots of places to shop around. They have a restaurant in the hotel, which we didn't try but it looked and smelled delicious. We only stayed one night and the room was in excellent condition. The hallways and room doors and beautiful. The front desk was very professional and courteous. Would stay in this lovely hotel again on my next visit to Galena!
