It's got lots right. But there's room for improvement. 1 star knocked off for the rude management and 1 star knocked off for the poor evening food. Beautiful views, very comfortable bed. Great chill space, sunbeds, pool & a sauna. Never had a problem getting a sunbed and pretty much always had the sauna to ourselves. The breakfast was delicious, varied each day, a great spread, very friendly service, a highlight of the day. The location isn't great, whilst we don't mind walking, it is set on a hill which is quite a walk up and down from the sea which means options for dinner are limited unless you want to get a taxi. At the hotel, the fish soup was delicious, but everything else we had for dinner was disappointing. The beef was overcooked, very dry and the menu noted it came with vegetables and a sauce, it came with neither. We asked for bread with the soup, and got cheap sliced white bread that you would use for toast at best. The salmon dish (22€) was completely tasteless and dry. You'd expect a lot better quality for a 4* hotel and for the prices, especially when dinner options in the area are limited. We raised the issue with the staff, as we thought the feedback was important. We are not people to complain as don't like to be negative but feel feedback is important. The staff spoke with their manager and we were told there was nothing they can do and we'd have to pay as we ate the meal (even though we didn't, we left pretty much all of it). This is when we requested to speak to the manager. Unfortunately the manager was very rude. In the end, they agreed to remove the salmon only from the bill and the manager informed us that her staff would have to pay because we were refusing to. For me, after working in hospitality management for 15 years, this was the most disappointing part. It's a real shame, that could have easily been diffused with a sincere apology and just decent managerial skills. It wasn't nice to be belittled and to be made to feel like we were in the wrong. Trust me, I'd rather avoid conflict and all costs. I would struggle to recommend staying in this hotel after this experience. The hotel staff were so friendly so it's nothing on them but it's clear that the customer's experience isn't the most important part for the manager, it's about the profits and this would worry me for other problems that might arise for people.

Modern, clean, high standard, bay view accommodation. Ample parking. Attentive, friendly& helpful staff. Breakfast buffet and inclusive a la carte options. 10 mins walk to bay front / supermarkets / bakery (does pizza). Mixed bag of bay front bars and restaurants (Babilon and kanobo Boko best for us). Limited public beach space - can pay for sun bed sets at beach bars - circa 20 euros - not great food reviews. Kotor easily reached by car - parking can be an issue in Kator (parking Benovo seems to be best option - may need to queue to get in first thing in the morning / peak meal times - but very cheap. Great base. Good bast to explore

Case de Mare was our last hotel on our trip in Montenegro and we really appreciated the localization, the room, the very nice view on the Kotor bay, the breakfast service and the kindness of the persons on site. Our friends had a small issue and they did their best to correct the situation. We certainly recommend this nice place.

This hotel is advertised as a Boutique Spa hotel, offering treatments, massages, specifically a Hamman. This in fact is misleading and overselling of their facilities. There are no treatment rooms, if you wish for a massage, they get someone to come to your room. A Hamman cannot be given in a bedroom. All that the hotel has in terms of spa facilities, is a tiny sauna, (a little bigger than a broom cupboard), and a long narrow plunge pool, that has no shallow end, which stretches from inside to the outside. The pool is full of the petals from the external overhanging bushes, and does not appear to be cleaned daily. I stayed at the hotel for 7 nights, with a group of 15 solos, I was in a suite, which I paid an additional £170, it did have spectacular views across Kotor Bay, on a bed and breakfast basis, with 3 evening meals included. The breakfasts were lovely and plentiful, however the evening meals were appalling. 1st was a gloopy mushroom risotto, 2nd was pasta with prawns, only there were no prawns, (The waiter let us have the drinks on the house for this evening), 3rd Sea Bass with vegetables, there were no vegetables, no potatoes but a handful of mushrooms. The staff were very friendly and polite, but we never got to see a manager. My suite was very clean and spacious. Aside from the spectacular views, this hotel really does not have anything else going for it. If it rains, which it did a couple of days whilst there, you are stuck in your room, as there are no other indoor sitting areas, other than the dinning room.

It was one of the most comfortable hotel stays I’ve ever had. The room was huge and well decorated, bathroom was modern and well equipped. Everything was sparkling clean. The breakfast was two-part: first there was a generous selection of cheeses, meats, pastries, vegetables, etc. when you sit down, the waiter brings you a menu to order various dishes such pancakes, hot sandwiches, oatmeal and more. The staff is extremely polite and attentive.

Boutique hotel with a fantastic view of the bay. A couple days here was sufficient for us, with the room very comfortable and ample breakfast options provided in the morning. We had delicious food locally at Konoba Bonaca and Caffe del Mare restaurants.

Not what I expected but then why you would ask? Well for one the photos gave an impression it was ON the water or 20m away - not true! Its a good 15min walk up hill with an elevation of around 150m. A bit of false advertising! Secondly the price is ridiculously expensive for the offer - at €330/night per couple it was madness as you only get breakfast included. The staff was the best asset as they have as they were friendly and engaging but you will never see a manager or owner so they were not empowered to seal with real issues. Cut a long story short, I will never recommend it and ill never be back. So many better value for money properties ON THE WATER to rent at better prices!

We have just stayed three nights at the Hotel Casa Del Mare Vizura and had an absolutely wonderful stay! The hotel is a lovely little boutique with only 15 rooms and lots of charm. It’s incredibly modern inside (believe it’s only been open for little while) and our room was gorgeous. We had a deluxe room with a sea view, and the view really was stunning. I imagine if you booked a mountain view room, you wouldn’t be so impressed as these are at the back of the hotel, but then again, that’s the difference in price. However, we paid a relatively mid-range price and felt the quality we got far exceeded the cost. There were a few niggles, but nothing that was detrimental to our stay. The hotel is, as other reviews suggest, on an unmade road, and the Google maps location (if you’re driving) takes you to the wrong road - the road you want is just opposite the small supermarket coming away from Kotor, a little way down from the road it takes you. We had no issue walking up and down the road in the day time and got taxis out in the evening, so no problems there. Other very minor things, such as the room not having a plug or loo roll when we arrived, were minor hiccups that the very friendly staff fixed promptly. Breakfast has a good variety and the pool area is small but perfectly formed. Don’t be alarmed by the mass of honey bees at the end of the pool - I’m terrified of bees but they honestly keep themselves to themselves! We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel but the drinks were very affordable - €7 for a glass of wine, €2 for a lemonade. Recommend walking down the hill to the sea front, and if you walk around 10/15 mins left (towards Kotor) there is a fantastic newly opened restaurant called La Riccettaa which I’d highly recommend paying a visit for lunch! Overall, a really lovely stay with super friendly and helpful staff. Great value for the price and would recommend!

Please do not let the photos or other reviews of Hotel Casa Del Mare Vizura deceive you. If you book here you are paying luxury hotel prices but not getting a luxury hotel experience. First, the location. The surroundings of the hotel are, essentially, a building site. The track leading up to it is unsurfaced and full of rocks. Even worse, it is surrounded by large and uncovered or barely covered manholes - see attached photo. Given the lack of lighting at night this is extremely hazardous. And if your room is advertised as having a “mountain” view, then in fact it is this rubble that you will be looking out over. Second, the rooms are full of faults, some of which cannot be quickly fixed. In our room one large electrical socket had the complete cover missing and seemed dangerous. There was also a broken vase, and no plug in the bathroom sink (it became clear this was a known problem and nothing had been done to fix it). We also had no shower towels and had to ask for these. Third, the pool is small and when we arrived contained many leaves and generally did not look very clean, suggesting the upkeep of it is not as is required. Fourth, the restaurant was inexplicably not open for our first two nights. So despite the advertised and promised service of dining for all meals, this is not in fact available. If you are expecting a luxury experience I hope this makes clear this is not what you will get — whilst some of the aspects complained of are small individually, cumulatively they add up to a very poor experience. Particularly so when the price of the hotel is considered. On raising these various problems little was done, until we said we were moving to another hotel at which point an “upgrade” was suddenly available (initially at an additional cost; but later, once our intention to leave was clear, for free). However, by the time the hotel took the complaints seriously I had sourced and booked alternative accommodation. Notwithstanding the problems described above the hotel still charged us for the full amount held on the credit card (rather than the one night we actually stayed), despite having failed to resolve the problems when given an opportunity to do so. Aspects of this hotel look great on a photo but they are a façade rather than the reality. I would urge you to find alternative accommodation rather than have the dispiriting experience we went through.

A very nice hotel with lovely staff and fantastic views. The only downside was the cost of the wine. There was only one option with dinner which was a bottle of red or white priced at 34 Euros. If you had a glass it was an extremely small measure (I think it was 125cl) and it was 7 Euros. The wine in the mini-bar in the room was a small bottle (187cl) and was priced at 5 Euros which wasn't too bad, but you could buy it at the local supermarket for 1.95 Euros.

I had to leave a review for this hotel and staff, because in all honesty I had one of my most memorable, relaxing and fulfilling vacations by staying at this hotel, and being taken care of by the lovely staff that work at Casa Del Mare. The beautiful boutique Hotel has a very intimate setting, and is located in an ideal area in the bay - just north of Kotor, but not too far away from all the fun things to do. The rooms are very well put together, everyone that works there went out of their way to make sure that I was treated like a king (and I mean literally), and all in all, I did not want to leave. I will make a point to return, and will also try out their other hotel in the Bay for a different vantage point. I wanted ot give a BIG shout out to Dejana, Rada, Nicola, Sasha Tatyana and Andela for making me feel so welcome and taken care of. You all provide world class service. Thank you, and see you all soon
