Excellent, family-run hotel. Owners could not be more helpful. Lovely location and lovely food. Have been coming here for many years. Very comfortable beds and nice, clean rooms. The hotel is located very close to Ypres so is ideal for people doing visits to the Battlefields of World War One.

Stayed here as part of a school visit to Ypres. Centrally located. Food was fantastic and the children were catered for really well. Staff were exceptionally friendly - especially Alex, and made us feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to come back again next year. Dank je wel Hotel de Vrede

We have just returned from a school trip to the Battlefields of the First World War and the Hotel De Vrede was an excellent base for a four day visit. The setting is picture perfect with easy access to all of the key sites. Alex and the team offer excellent customer service and definitely have the attitude that nothing was too much trouble. The food was probably the best feature, both breakfast and dinner, and was the best and freshest that I have experienced in my time organising school trips. The fact that the hotel was completely self contained which allowed the students some freedom without disturbing other guests, and has a self contained outside are was also extremely useful. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable and offer a good degree of comfort for the price charged. All in all, an extremely positive experience and we will be requesting the same accommodation next year if it is available.

A wonderful hotel in a wonderful town. Ideal location for Battle Field visits. Family staff are so friendly and attentive. Rooms clean, neat and extremely comfortable. Food brilliant in the restaurant and great value for money. It’s the ideal hotel to stay in
