Premier Inn Dumfries

Nice room. Comfortable Beds but shocking communication. Restaurant closed for all but Breakfast for 2 weeks prior to our arrival and no one informed us. In addition main telephone booking line knew nothing of the closure.

Beautifully clean rooms. Really friendly staff. Delicious breakfasts looked after so well by Angela who was so friendly and helpful. Pity there were no dinner facilities at moment but reception gave us local dining places in area and we used one in particular each evening. Overall a lovely getaway.

This is by a country mile the worse experience myself and my husband have ever had in a hotel. First I had to book on line after waiting 27 minutes for them to answer I put phone down. On line you cannot tell them your disabled. So at reception was told we were up stairs. No way he could see that I walk with two sticks. No chairs at reception to sit on so for 30mins had to stand. He changed room to down stairs. Oh my gawd it was so far I could not breath and was in great pain by the time I got to room 32. Could not get a shower because it was over the bath and the bath was so deep I could not get in. We decided to have a cup of tea wow 2 teabags . Bed was like sleeping on a bed of rocks. Restaurant was closed at night no mention of the at time of booking.. the room to put it politely was tired, carpet stained, paint pealing off £175 for one night not worth £25 a night. The whole experience was a nightmare. Its a complete rip off. I e mailed them only to be told to give them 35 days to reply. It made me feel that I was been discriminated against because I'm disabled.there is a notice in the room saying the reception is open 24 hours a day ring if you need something. No phone in room , tried ringing on my mobile for 30 minutes no answer . The girl who's name is Angela was more than helpful in the Restaurant next morning fo breakfast and would like to thank her for everything, her smile and laughter cheered me up thanks love

The room was tired and smelled of feet. The internet was poor, even with paying a £5 supplement. High sided bath difficult for disabilities. Breakfast unimpressive - dry mushrooms, overcooked eggs and bacon. The bed was comfortable and a redeeming feature. We were told that the restaurant was closing and staff were being laid off.

Fantastic staff nothing was too much trouble. A great nights sleep. Food was great both at breakfast and our evening meal. We are visiting for a swim training camp in Annan so this was a perfect place to stay. Thank you very much for your care and attention

The company I work for has a corporate account with Premier Inn so I stay in various locations around the country. I have stayed in Dumfries three times now and I have found the team here are the most friendly and excellent in meeting and at times exceeding expectations and I thought them worthy on a review on my personal Tripadvisor. Georgina and Karlene are so welcoming and especially well prepared and efficient with the check -in process even when I arrive late at night and no doubt they are at the end of their shift - to their credit the smiles and warmth of welcome is still evident. The company books the Ultimate Wi-Fi which can be problematic in getting the codes and connecting - however, Georgina always pre-prepares the code in advance where as at other sites I have to ask. This proactive approach speaks volumes for meeting guest/!company requirements. The adjoining restaurant is good as you would expect. One server in particular, Angela stands out for her engagement and hospitality. I learned on my last visit the the staff at Table Table are having to apply for their existing jobs due to some National management changes. Having worked for over 20 years in tourism and hospitality I sincerely hope that Angela is re-hired as she is first class at her job and a real asset to the business. Wishing her and all the team well at this uncertain time. I strongly believe is important to take time to praise staff on this platform - some just vent and criticise afterwards and this can be very demotivating for staff to deal with - if a problem arises take it up with the manager before leaving and be kind…we do not know what is going on with people in their lives behind the scenes. Great staff very helpful at reception and in restaurant fast delivery of food hotel just as it should be. Very satisfied apart from the WiFi the ultimate WiFi is £5 a day and it's beyond shocking if the ultimate is that bad you should definitely stay away from the free version

It was so brilliant to stay at Dumfries Premier inn. The staff were great, I checked in, got a meal, got to bed and had breakfast all super easy and no fuss. I was a n a busy trip and arrived later with lots of luggage. The receptionist was brilliant, helping me in with my stuff.

arrived for stated check in at 3pm. unable to check in until 4.15. Reason given "room not yet ready- we've been quite busy" I am usually quite tolerant with this kind of thing but the casual and rather off hand responses from staff made me very cross especially when all other arrivals successfully checked in.
