We enjoyed a return three-night visit to Seaview House, well located just outside Ballylickey, on the 'Wild Atlantic Way' and about 6 km from 'downtown' Bantry. The atmosphere is 'country house' cosy, the décor is elegant, most of the furniture is antique - or looks so - and there is a ‘bath house’ with spa services. However, the 'sea view' is quite limited, at least in summer. There is no elevator and the top floor rooms are accessed by 30 + steps. Our ‘classic single’ room was spacious, with traditional brown furniture, and the bathroom was well sized (shower over bath). Both were well-equipped. All the staff we met were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast is excellent, one of the best we have experienced, with attentive service – the well-stocked buffet is supplemented by hot food cooked to order from an extensive menu. Dinner is also very high quality. There is plentiful free parking for guests. There is no EV charger (there are some in Bantry) but the hotel offers a connection to a standard wall power outlet – helpful but very slow. Overall, an excellent base for visiting Bantry, Glengarriff and the Beara Peninsula (but install EV chargers!). Recommended.
