Das Hotel liegt verkehrsgünstig nur wenige Gehminuten vom Gangaramaya-Tempel und dem für seine Bawa-Architektur berühmten Seema Malakaya-Tempel sowie einem Supermarkt entfernt. Das Zimmer war geräumig und hatte alles außer einer Zahnbürste. Was das Essen im Restaurant betrifft, wurden alle unsere Fragen höflich beantwortet und das Essen sah köstlich aus und schmeckte auch so. Ich wusste zunächst nicht, wie ich den Fernseher bedienen sollte, also fragte ich an der Rezeption nach und sie schickten sofort einen Mitarbeiter. Die Reaktion war auch großartig. Im Gegensatz zu großen Hotels herrscht in diesem Hotel eine klassische und ruhige Atmosphäre.

Hervorragendes Kleinod inmitten der pulsierenden Großstadt Colombo. Die nur 9 sehr geräumigen, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichteten und sehr sauberen Zimmer in einem alten Kolonionalbau liegen rundherum um einen großen Pool. Zum Hotel gehört auch eine nette Bar und ein Restaurant mit sehr guter Küche. Überaus freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, insbesondere auch der Hotel-Manager selbst, haben uns den nur kurzen Aufenthalt gleichwohl unvergesslich gemacht.

Das Boutique-Hotel Uga Residence ist eine elegante und herrlich ruhige Oase mitten im quirligen Colombo in Top-Lage, nur wenige Fussminuten vom Gangaramaya Tempel entfernt. Ich bin hier schon zum zweiten Mal. Die zehn Zimmer sind super grosszügig und eher als Junior Suite zu bezeichnen. Eingerichtet in einem klassisch-modernen Stil mit tropischen Akzenten - zum Wohlfühlen! Der Star des Hotels ist der Pool im Innenbereich vor der Kulisse der alten Kolonialvilla. Super schön! Ausgezeichnet ist das Essen im Restaurant und der High Tea mit kleinen pikanten und süssen Köstlichkeiten -absolut empfehlenswert. Die Seele des Hotels sind die ausgesprochen freundlichen, aufmerksamen, hilfsbereiten Mitarbeiter wie Thilo und Sithija und der Resident Manager Herr Peiris ist ein Hotel-Chef wie man ihn sich wünscht für ein Fünf-Sterne-Haus. Wir kommen sicher wieder!

Koloniales Flair inmitten einer pulsierenden Grosstadt. Service und Essen hervorragend. Grosszügige Zimmer mit wenig Tageslicht, auf Grund der Lage direkt an der Grundstückmauer. Fusionsküche international und Sri Lankisch noch im Expirementierstadium. Freunden des Speziellen unbedingt zu empfehlen.

At the epicenter of Colombo, between Slave Island, Galle green and Viharamahadevi Park, the Residence manages to remain tucked away from the city clamor around its century-old inner pavillion. What could have ended up a members-only address reveals a canvas for harmony of volumes, elements and above all personalised hospitality. Depending on the time or temperature of the day: private patio, pool side, terrace restaurant or cocktails bar each offer a quaint, timeless elegant framework for carpe diem. But the charm of the place wouldn't reveal without the dedication of the whole team, from housekeeping to restaurant to front of house. Silva at the front desk facilitated a last minute reservation for what turned out an ideal urban stay at the heart of Colombo. Not only he alleviated the online booking intricacies but ensured a constant availability throughout. Rarely service is provided with such genuine involvement and flexibility.

I hosted high tea for 12 ladies on 18 August . We expected to be in the main restaurant with the view but got dumped at the back in the hot area. It was too late to change.. however staff previously accommodating, the food was good. But missed being in the room with the view, empty restaurant ! I think the staff could not be bothered tidying up after us because they were expecting people for dinner . There was no one else for afternoon tea they should have done better by giving us some more pleasant ambience which was available if they hadtaken the trouble. The food was reasonable and there was plenty. Price was high at Rs 4298 per head. I am courage to be more generous in accommodating people in the main restaurant when it’s a large group so they can enjoy the view. and the ambience of UGA. I do not wish to be in generous so a score of 4 only, rather than 3 whereas I would have given 5

a professional standard of very clean room service. Always available with a bright smile. An essential part of the team. Sri, the head barman and general supervisor has an excellent knowledge of international cocktails made at perfection. Excellent food & great pool.

I loved the location in center . It’s a very colonial boutique hotel with only 10 rooms . The rooms are comfortable . Great personalized service . Food is average . They can improve on their breakfast . Next to the hotel is THE mews . Has several great small restaurants , bar and coffee places .

One of the best experiences I had with customer service. Their restaurant manager Shehan and Shahnaz were amazing. They went above and beyond to make sure that our whole experience and our big day was the most wonderful and stress-free time it could have been. Thanks a lot team! Keep up the good work! I highly recommend them for their quality of food and service for events and parties!

What a wonderful, elegant hotel. The suites are beautifully appointed and very spacious. Breakfasts were vast, the staff throughout the hotel were charming and helpful. The highlight was dinner! The chef got a big “thumbs up”. Wish we were coming back and definitely would recommend.

This is a perfect way to either start or end your trip to Sri Lanka, in the heart of Columbo but no noise, you are shielded from hustle and bustle of the city outside. The rooms we stayed in 4, and 6 were luxury class, really spacious, well decorated and make you feel special. Highly recommended to a short stay in Columbo.

A lovely hotel with character and large spacious rooms. The staff are friendly and because it was raining I had dinner in the hotel one night and it was excellent. Breakfast is pretty good but not up to the same standards but if I lived in Singapore I would even go here for dinner. The prawn starter was so tasty, the bar staff were also helpful
