Hotel Ludwig – ich habe hier fast eine Woche verbracht. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und jeden Wünsch wurde erfühlt. Mein Zimmer war nicht groß, aber es hat gereicht. Die Rezeption war 24 Stunden besetzt. Das Beste war Balkon, wo ich aus meinem Zimmer ginge und die schöne Aussicht genossen. Am Abend immer ein Buch gelesen. Das Parkhaus war nur bis 100 Meter entfernt. Die Lage war auch gut und relativ leise. Die Preise waren angemessen.

nettes Hotel, super freundliches Personal vor allem beim Frühstück, top Lage nahe Hauptbahnhof. Wir hatten ein Zimmer zum Hinterhof und dieses war herrlich ruhig. Ich kann dieses Hotel absolut weiter empfehlen

We had a very basic, small room with three beds, but the service and location made up for it. The room was clean and comfortable. The cathedral and train station were a short walk from the hotel. There’s also a 24-hour garage across the street for parking. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was typical German hotel fare.

This hotel has impressed me to such as extent that I'm now sitting in the balcony of my room writing this review. The customer service is superb, extremely helpful and polite staff, the rooms are simple but comfortable and everything one needs and recently renovated bathrooms. Breakfast is good and forget about machines, they bring you hot coffee in beautiful china to your table. Not to mention the amazing location close to the main station.

Just returned from a 2 day stay here where I had a single room with balcony on the 4th floor. Having spent my life working in the hotel industry I know what I'm looking for that suits me & this fitted the bill perfectly. It's clean, serves a delicious breakfast & it's small enough to have the personal touch where the reception staff can greet you by name each time you pass by. All of the staff were lovely, even when the language difference came into play, but special mention has to go to Hans on the desk who was so friendly & helpful & good at making recommendations (we even got around to discussing politics!) & who is definitely an asset to the hotel, as was the gentleman in the back office but whose name I didn't catch, but was a mine of information. The lady on breakfasts was also happy to serve me a cappuccino with my food then another one to take to my balcony to enjoy with a cigarette! Cologne is a lovely city, the hotel is literally 2 mins away from the central train station so getting around anywhere is very easy & 10 min walk from the boats for a Rhine cruise which I thoroughly enjoyed. Were I to return I would definitely stay here again & wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Thank you Hotel Ludwig!

Hotel Ludwig has exceptional customer service! Everyone was super nice and very accommodating. They held our luggage day of check out so we could explore the city for a few hours. The rooms are as described. They are the basics of what you need. There isn’t anything luxurious however it’s very clean and safe. I would stay here every time I come to Cologne. The breakfast had good options and was tasty. My family spoke German and I spoke English. The front desk clerks spoke both languages and made sure I had a good stay. Highly recommend for English speaking travelers. Plus the hotel was in a central location and in walking distance to so many things. Literally right around the corner from Moulin Rouge, which is why we were there. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
