Room is very large and there are extra pillows, always a plus! Nice bathroom and shower. Big wardrobe with a safe. Kettle for tea and coffee in the room, with sugar and creamer. On site restaurant was very good, we had dinner there. Staff are lovely. Free parking across the street. In an odd spot, sort of a ***** mall with the entrance in the middle. Very comfy. Only negative was the lamps are a bit dim, but the room has a balcony!

The two stars is for the skiing facilities and a kind member of staff who filled a kettle with boiling water so I could have a cup of tea in the evening. The rest is not worth the money!! The rooms are over priced. We had a studio with 4 beds upstairs (one double, two twins) and sofa bed downstairs. The sofa bed cannot be used by friends as it’s right next to a toilet and shower with glass sliding doors, no privacy and you would be woken during the night with people going to the toilet right next to you. There is no kettle, tea/coffee in the room and the cafe doesn’t offer any take away hot drinks. Nor do they offer a selection of caffeine free teas so it’s impossible to have a drink whilst staying unless you have their limited range. The room isn’t serviced daily, strange for a hotel. The photos showed a desk, but there wasn’t one, might not be an issue for some but my children were revising for exams. Worst of all is the food. The cafe menu is full of ultra processed rubbish that comes from the freezer and the quality and taste is awful. If you are staying for a few days you are stuck with this menu as nothing else was open for lunch. Dinner - the hotel charged myself and my two children (aged 11 and 13) €33 each for a buffet dinner - €99 for 3. For this privilege we were offered a tray and 6 choices, to be served canteen style. This was rice, couscous, mixed veg, chicken, salmon or beef stew. Plus bread. Pudding was a few pears and oranges served whole and unpeeled and plain yoghurt you can spoon into a bowl. Not a buffet, this was a canteen with very limited choice, no puddings or icecream. No drinks except fruit cordial and water. When I complained to the staff that for €33 they should be offering some proper dessert options they said they would get some icecream from the cafe but then hid in the kitchen and didn’t come out for the rest of the service. I had to hunt down a staff member to order a glass of wine and was asked to pay for it before leaving. However when I left there were no staff insight and after 10 minutes I got fed up and left. I’ve no doubt it will be added to my bill of €99 even though they said it couldn’t be added to my bill and I would need to pay separately. €33!!! For one main. How can they justify that? The ski facilities are great and ‘some’ of the staff tried to be helpful but it’s clear there are serious failings in how the hotel is run. I won’t be returning and cannot wait to go home and enjoy some fresh food that’s not filled with UPF’s and costing €33 per plate

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen und entspannten Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer war unter dem Dach und hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Hotel ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Wir konnten dort sehr gut entspannen. Alle Personen die dort arbeiten sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

We stayed here for a night and it’s basic and fine. The breakfast just had the necessities like some eggs, bread, cheese, ham, etc. but it was good. They also had a nice coffee machine so if you want to drink a cappuccino you can! While the breakfast area was small, it was enough to seat quite a few guests. When we arrived (I believe it was around 8:30am) there were tables that were not cleared yet and during our breakfast only one of those tables was cleared and cleaned which is something they could improve so the guests don’t have to stare at trash all the time. The room did not have a fan or an airconditioning, which is fine, but we also could not open the windows at night because they did not have screens and there were quite a lot mosquitoes and other unwelcome guests waiting to get into our room. The windows were also extremely dirty which is quite disgusting since they open inwards. The beds were clean and the mattress was soft and surprisingly comfortable! The bathroom had soap and showergel/conditioner attached to the wall and the showerhead was small but powerful. For the elderly there was a chair in the shower so you could sit down. The towels were clean and there were two shower towels per person. (the smell in the room also gave away a lot of elderly stay there) The surroundings of the hotel are beautiful so for people wanting to cycle or hike its perfect. Outside the hotel is a seating area where you can drink something. The seats were comfortable and there was plenty of shade. While you drink your cold beverage you can enjoy the view of a small lake and fountain separating the hotel from a main road. We read online this was a 2 star hotel but it was worth 4 stars. In our opinion everything was fine but compared to other 2 and 3 star hotels we stayed at it is definitely not worth 4 stars. Definitely a hotel to consider for an event so you basically only have to sleep there. Ich blieb hier im Rahmen eines Gruppenurlaubs von 'SNP Naturreisen'. Die Lage ist großartig für Wandern und Radfahren. Ich mochte die Wandmalereien, den Garten und die kleine Vogel in der Hofgarte. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und untergebracht. Ich hatte ein schönes Zimmer mit Blick auf den Hof und (über dem gegenüberliegenden Dach) auf die Hügel. Das Frühstück war gut, und wir genossen gute Abendessen in Geulhof Mechelen, da das Essensviertel geschlossen war (für Renovierung, wie ich es verstanden habe).

It is a historical venue with character and a beautiful courtyard. The rooms as spacious but old outfitted. Parking is outside exposed to the elements, and the restaurant is not always opened. The staff speaks several languages, the breakfast is abundant, and the location is ideal to reach the town center and walk in the woods. It is a good place but not one I would necessary choose above other options

This is a very nice place and probably we would stay again. It is in a historic building and that comes with certain quirks. The biggest thing to know is it’s not for people who are physically limited. You don’t park near the entrance and there are no elevators to the room. Everything has steps and there is no assistance offered, so unless you get a ground floor room you are toting your bags up the narrow steps. We are fully able so it wasn’t a problem. The grounds are gorgeous and the staff generally very nice and helpful. It’s a bit odd though as it combines high luxury with low frills, such as no help with bags. They seemed a bit understaffed. The food is great but expensive if you dine in. Not unreasonable for the food but high for every day dining. Overall the stay was very good but a bit on the expensive side. One oddity was we wanted to stay an extra night ( we emailed a few weeks ahead and got no reply) and when we inquired as we checked in were told they had a room but they couldn’t book us at the front desk we had go online. We decided to move on.
