The owners have clearly put a lot of effort into creating a lovely hotel, and for deaf visitors it would be. The view from the balcony is superb, the room was spacious and comfortable and everything was pretty smart. However, the soundproofing was fairly dismal, so we could hear the couple in the room next to us talking and hear their child crying. - 1 star for inadequate soundproofing on what was a fairly expensive room. We were then subjected to very loud music with heavy bass from the wedding happening in the hotel - I hope the couple had a lovely time, but having shelled out for a room with a balcony in the quiet bit of the lake district I did find the lack of quiet a bit disappointing. - 1 star for the rather less than tranquil surroundings. On checking out, the receptionist asked us if everything had been ok, so I mentioned it was a shame the wedding music had been so loud, as it had made it hard to enjoy a quiet evening (for reference think Travelodge room above a nightclub). The receptionist told me that the music had been turned off at 11, so was in line with legal requirements, not sure why that was relevant, considering I had paid for a room in a nice looking hotel with a balcony in the quiet bit of the lakes. Her colleague shrugged at us, clearly indicating she thought we were the problem. - 1 star for rude staffing. In short, this hotel could be wonderful, but isn't.

Während eines dreiwöchigen britischen Urlaubs war ich hier für drei Nächte gebucht, um meinen Geburtstag zu feiern und was für ein Geschenk es war! Obwohl eine Renovierung vorliegt, war das Landhaus großartig! Ich hatte Glück, am Ende des Halles ein Zimmer zu haben, das den Hof, ein Schaffeld und eine Aussicht auf das Meer! Es war ruhig und ruhig. Das gesamte Personal, vor allem Barry, war so willkommen, aufmerksam und freundlich! Ich bewerte selten 5 Sterne und Hunday Manor verdient es.

We stayed at Armathwaite Hall over the Valentine's weekend to celebrate our last weekend away just the two of us before our baby boy arrives. At 35 weeks pregnant, I was in desperate need of relaxation and pampering and that was exactly what I got at Armathwaite! We booked the 'bubbles and bliss package' and we upgraded by booking a lake view room which was worth paying extra for. I particularly enjoyed my meal in the Lake View Restaurant on the first night, the staff in there are lovely and professional, and clearly work very hard with the same staff being on duty at breakfast too. Special shout out to Elena (apologies if I have got her name wrong) who is an absolute credit to the hotel and looked after us so well. Nothing was too much trouble for her! The pool and spa facilities are wonderful, and I'm looking forward to coming back when I'm not pregnant so I can enjoy the jacuzzi/sauna. Top tip for mums to be - the pregnancy massage in the spa is top quality, and the non-alcoholic sparkling wine available in the bar is probably one of the nicest ones I've tried!

We stayed for 2 nights but would have liked to have stopped longer. Room was nice but a bit squashed for space , bed comfortable, shower very good. Meals all good. Great place nearby at the train station. Also used the local spa facility, very smart but not everything was working properly when we were there. Staff were all very friendly , helpful and worked hard. Food was good especially the breakfast. Liked the bars in the hotel and the decor and atmosphere of the hotel.

Die Volkswagen sind sehr gut mit ihrer eigenen Umgebung ausgestattet und ist eine sehr atmosphärische Unterkunft. Die Kuchen im Zimmer sind sehr lecker und das Essen, das die Volkswagen bieten, ist auch gut, das ist nicht sehr kostengünstig (einige Gerichte sind leidenschaftlich). Die geografische Lage ist relativ, das Gefühl, hier zu leben ist in der Regel selbst fahren, wir spielen Keswick und Devent Lake hier ein bisschen entfernt und der Bus ist geparkt, um einen Taxi zu rufen. Aber die allgemeine Unterkunft ist immer noch sehr gut!

On a 2 day break to the Lake District we stayed here on the Saturday night , was central to everywhere we wanted to visit , easily accessible just off the A66 . The evening meal & Breakfast were both 10/10 and the staff were all excellent , One lad sorry I didn’t get his name was extremely professional, I’d asked him about his Scottish accent but he was actually from Workington with Scottish Parents . Saying that all the staff were SO GOOD . Lovely clean quiet rooms

First class! We have just had our 3rd stay at this wonderful place. Clare and Craig are wonderful hosts and always make us feel so welcome. Spotlessly clean, peaceful, wonderful views and garden. Amazing breakfasts-lots of choice including daily specials. The home made baking is a lovely touch. Great location with off road parking. Just a twenty minute walk into Keswick. We would recommend Thyme bistro for dinner, book in advance. Also recommend the Farmers Arms just up the road from Dalegarth for a post hike pint of wainwright Thank you Clare and Craig, see you next year
