The most wonderful place to stay in Paphos. From the moment you arrive you are treated excellent from every member of staff. Very friendly, warm and polite and cannot do enough for you. We stayed last year and didn’t even consider going anywhere else this year as the hotel had everything you could possibly want… excellent food and choice from morning til night, great location all round, bus (cheap as chips) and very frequent. The room was absolutely amazing (even better than last year) with the maid coming in every day. Super clean in every part of the hotel and beautiful grounds. Have to say Agatha on the front desk is a real credit to the hotel going above and beyond so anything you need to know…. ask Agatha. Thank you to all the lovely and incredibly hard working staff, we had the best time ever and are already looking at dates for next year.

Kurz zusammengefasst: Restauraunt: von 7 Aufenthalten im Restaurant wurde ich 2 mal garnicht bedient. Bei einem mal habe ich einen Cappuccino bestellt. kam auch relativ schnell. 2 Minuten später steht der Kellner wieder da und fragt ob ich all-inkl. habe. ja, habe ich. OK, aber der Cappuccino ist nicht dabei. Er hat mein all-inkl. Band nicht gesehen. Gut, dann muss er es mir vorher sagen. Augenrollend ist er beleidigt gegangen. Rezeption: Auf die Frage, ob ich noch eine Wasserflasche auf mein Zimmer haben darf, bekam ich die Antwort dass das nur ein Willkommensgeschenk ist. Wenn ich eine Wasserflasche haben möchte, muss ich diese im Shop kaufen oder von der Bar einzelne Becher holen. Wenn ich also 4 Liter pro Tag (für 2 Personen im Sommer) im Zimmer haben möchte, soll ich also mit 16 Becher aufs Zimmer gehen? Antwort: Ja, so ist es halt. Snackbar: Gefragt ob sie Snacks haben. JA, aber die Kosten etwas. Wenn ich die all-inkl. Snacks haben möchte, dann erst ab 15:30. aha. Also, all-inkl. ist nicht all-inkl. Zimmerwände sind sehr dünn, Fernseher und schnarchende Nachbarn hört man gut. Lärm am Gang sogar noch besser. Zimmermädchen klopft und kommt im selben Moment rein. Man muss einfach vorbereitet sein. Das Essen war grenzwertig. Ich habe mir einzelne Hüherstücke rausgepickt und jeden Tag mit Kartoffeln gemischt. Das ging einigermassen. Den Rest habe ich mich nicht getraut...

Just returned from 7 nights at Helios Bay. It is a lovely hotel in a great location. It was really hot (approx 32 degrees each day at the end of September). Pros: - Pool is really nice, clean and a good size - Plenty of sunbeds - we had no issue finding 2 together in the sun at any time of the day - Pool bar is good for drinks and snacks e.g. ice creams, toasties, chips, small meals - Beautiful views and a coastal path (perfect place to watch the sunsets) - Bus 615 stops right outside and goes to Coral Bay or down to Paphos. Single tickets are 1.50 or you can buy a day ticket for 5 euros. We asked about a weekly ticket but were told these were not available. We didn't use the beach nearby as we went up to Coral Bay on the bus (much less rocky/stoney and the sea is calmer) - would recommend going there - the Corallia Beach (the last stop on the bus) is lovely and is 7.50 a day for x2 sunbeds and a parasol. We also used the buses to get to Aphrodite's Rock which was nice. The supermarket (I think called Sklavenitis) inside Kings Mall is far better than the Lidl and only a few stops further on the bus - go there if you want a larger selection of food. I have a nut & sesame seed allergy and was unable to find many suitable things in the Lidl but found loads there including British chocolate and bread safe for me to eat. We cooked our own breakfasts each day so can't comment on the breakfast at the hotel. There is a small kiosk style shop 2 doors down from the hotel where you can buy essentials e.g. drinks, snacks, gifts. The New Horizon pub next door to that was a favourite of ours. We ate there 3 times and other nights went to watch the rugby or football. Nice atmosphere and also very allergy friendly - menus are allergy coded and the staff really helpful. Cons: - We arrived very late (approx 2am) due to our Gatwick flight being delayed. We were handed a key and on arrival at our room realised were on the ground floor (104) with a view of some villas. We had paid extra for a side sea view room so I went and spoke to the receptionist and requested a room change. He reported he was just the night man and told me to go back in the morning. I went back at 8am and they did move us later that day to the other side of the block and up a higher level (room 216) where the views were 1000 times better and we actually had the view we'd paid for. Be careful of this as I have read this in other reviews. This is one of my only negatives as it did disappoint us on arrival and I felt like we had just been given the last room due to arriving late. - Only other small negative was the lack of entertainment on a night. The sun set at approx 6.45pm whilst we were there which meant it was dark early. The hotel became really quiet and you had to go to the pub nearby or into Paphos for any entertainment, drinks etc. It would have been nice to have music / something going on each night at the hotel itself. Ich habe dieses Hotel für meinen knapp 14tägigen Urlaub ausgewählt, weil es ”fast” am Meer liegt und eine schöne Anlage bietet. Es wird zur Zeit von vielen osteuropäischen Familien und Paaren genutzt, viele Polen und Russen. Engländer und Deutsche weniger. Das Service -Personal ( z.T. auch polnisch) ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Essen abends sehr lecker, vielseitig und abwechslungsreich. Immer mit mehreren Salaten und ca.8 Gerichten. Morgens auch ein gutes Büffet, nichts Besonderes jedoch. Bei HP zahlt man abends und tagsüber die Getränke selbst. Der Pool ist groß, sauber , mit vielen Liegen. Zum Strand jedoch führt ein Weg vom Hotel wenige 100m, ist dann aber ein ungepflegter Stein/Kiesstrand. Zum Erholen ist das Hotel richtig schön, manchmal nerven ( auch beim Essen) kleine, schreiende Kinder, weil die Eltern sich einfach nicht beim Essen um sie kümmern. Sehr angenehm ist im Zimmer ein kleiner Kühlschrank, Wasserkocher und Safe. Die Zimmer sind groß, mit kleinem Balkon, ich hatte seitlichen Meerblick gebucht. Tagsüber gibt es am Pool immer Musik-Beschallung, wer das nicht mag, Ohrstöpsel und eigene Musik mitbringen. In der Umgebung gibt es viele andere Restaurants, wem es nicht schmeckt, muss aber nicht sein. Denn das Essen ist gut. Die Sauberkeit der Zimmer ist top. Ich habe von hier mit einer bekannten Reise -App einige weitere Ausflüge gemacht, wo man in der Nähe vom Hotel abgeholt wurde. Mit einem öffentlichen Bus kann man nach Paphos reinfahren. Das kostenlose WLAN mit Hotel ist relativ schwach, man kann sich schnelleres mit Extra-Kosten zubuchen. ( teuer!) Der kleine Fernseher im Zimmer hat 1 deutschen Sender- Arte. Abends gibt's vom Hotel aber auch Musik-Unterhaltung. Alles in allem: empfehlenswert!

Das Hotel war im Großen und Ganzen ein schönes Hotel mit einem guten Pool und das Essen war schmackhaft. Wir waren Bett und Frühstück und entschieden uns, für eine der Nächte im Hauptrestaurant (katoi) zu essen. Auf den großen Restaurant-Reservierungsscreens sahen wir ein a la carte-Menü mit vielen vernünftig preiswerten Mahlzeiten (ca. 15 €) so geplant, das zu haben. Als wir auftauchten, sagten sie, es gab nur das Buffet verfügbar (€33), das ziemlich teuer war, aber wir konnten nicht irgendwo anders im Hotel gehen, da alles vor der Buchung benötigte. Das Personal hatte nie von diesem Menü gehört. Wenn wir mit unserem Toddler angemeldet haben, hofften wir, dass es bereits eine Cot in dem Zimmer gibt. Es war nicht so, dass wir eine angerufen haben, die wir gesagt wurden, dass es dort wäre. Eine Stunde später war nichts aufgetaucht, so dass wir wieder ran und es wurde gesagt, dass es da sein würde, nachdem wir aus dem Abendessen zurückgekommen waren. Als wir zurückkamen, war ein Bett aufgestellt, das völlig unpassend war. Wir mussten wieder anrufen, wann es nach ihrer Bettzeit war.
