The location is so strategic . The room is spacious but a liitle bit run down . Very basic amenities ..

This review is based on our experience of a member of staff we encountered on the complex, Assistant Manager on the morning of June 2nd 2024 was extremely helpful in assisting us at a time of great anguish. In our excitement to commence our cruise holiday we had forgotten to print some necessary paperwork. We stopped at the services in the hope there would be such a facility on site. Unfortunately there wasn't but a member of staff suggested Travel Lodge across the parking area. The Assistant Manager empathised with our plight and graciously provided a solution to our problem. They could have sent us on our way WITHOUT assisting us as we hadn't been guests at the hotel (on this occasion) but their understanding and kindness made us feel valued and i'm sure had we been guests we'd have experienced that level of service throughout our stay. Had a very enjoyable stay. Nice room adjacent to reception. Very little noise either from the Travelodge or the Service Station. Super friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel staff were fantastic. They were friendly, even when we raised multiple issues with our rooms. It is because of them, that we are giving two out of five. For the hotel, we would score it one out of five. It was watertight and had a decent bed, although not all the pillows were of a decent standard. In our first room, the shower sprayed onto the ceiling as we as into the bath and the extractor fan in the bathroom did not work. When this left us with a permanently damp room, the staff provided us with another room. This one had a working extractor fan and shower. Unfortunately, some of the pillows were old, thin and lumpy. Also, at times, there was no hot water. Again, the staff did what they could. As the first floor is floorboards, rather than concrete, we could hear every step from the guest in the room above ours. The windows blocked the noise from outside, provided they were shut. There was plenty of parking. In short, the hotel is badly designed and needs a lot of maintenance. It was clean enough, but dusty in places (not sure if the cleaning staff get enough time to keep the place spotless). However, the staff were great and happy to provide us with whatever we needed and a friendly chat. The staff were what made our stay enjoyable.

We were on holiday in Spain when we heard our house had been flooded. Knowing we had a late flight back we didn’t want to turn up at our house in the dark with flood damage. We therefore chose to book into the Travel Lodge at Cherwell Valley Services as it was very close. Following a flight delay we arrived to check in at 0200 hrs. We were given the keys to room 243. When we went into the room we were horrified by what we saw. The mattress was bare and looked disgusting, the sheets were screwed up and thrown in a corner. There was food and rubbish on the floor. The bath and toilet were dirty. We immediately went back to reception and showed the night receptionist photos of the room. He couldn’t apologise enough. He then took us to another room, 269. As he opened the door there was a stench of fish. The room was as dirty and horrible as the previous one but added to that the bathroom door was off its hinges and leant against a wall. I have never seen anything so filthy. The receptionist looked shocked. We told him we wanted to leave. We wanted our money back. We felt we would be better going back to our flood damaged house than staying here. The receptionist begged us to stay and took two sets of keys to look at other rooms. He came back and didn’t even offer to show us which says a lot I think. An email was sent to Travel Lodge the following morning and I got a response saying as a ‘gesture of goodwill’ they would refund my money. That is an awful response as that would be the absolute minimum response. Won’t be staying with Travel Lodge anytime soon.

Easy free parking , quiet, clean and basic but very nice staff . A safe place to stay as a single lady traveller. Right next to eateries and M &S shop being at service station.

Arrived late afternoon wasn’t aware of parking system but you log registration in lobby unfortunately this wasn’t working so we put our number on paper so staff can enter it after repair man came to fix which he didn’t so given direct number to hotel to cancel tickets if one arrives but one month on has not but still am keeping number. Staff on front desk great was given choice of room so we picked upstairs round back so quiet and did the job for our early visit to Bicester Village plenty of options to eat in services we never had to go out

Used this hotel a few times as a place to stopover when visiting my parents. Good value (rarely pay more than £60pn) and always clean. Bed comfortable & showers good power level.
