Hilton Garden Inn Chengde Mountain Resort

Stayed over for one night at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel at Chengde. The entrance to the hotel was congested with cars. The parking attendance in front of the hotel wasn't really helpful when my driver dropped us off to check in to the hotel. What he cares was just faster unload and removed the car form that area. He offered no help at all. I was not sure if the parking attendance was employed by the Hilton hotel. If yes then the service was really not up par with the Hilton standard for customer service standard. We carried one large luggages and few smaller bags. We have to carry it over few flights of stairs to get in to the hotel entrance. The sliding path to get into the hotel entrance was not located in front of the hotel entrance but was hidden at the side that was obscured or partially blocked by the parking car at the front. The reception lady was very friendly though. We were given high floor and she scanned my WeChat to easy contact with the hotel later. The hotel room was very spacious and beautiful but the room was stuffy. Only one tiny small window was able to open a little bit to let the outside air go in. The afternoon temperature was as high as 25 degrees Celcius and rather HOT inside the room. We cannot adjust the aircon in the room as it is central setting! Called to the reception to ask why the room air con can't be adjusted and it seems not working but was told it is central setting. Well, you paid a lots to stay at the hotel without proper ventilation but to rely on the outside air to go in the tiny window. Despite the hotel facility was complete but we still cannot really enjoy and sleep comfortably as we felt HOT. The hotel separates the bathroom from toilet. The washing basin was outside of the bathroom. The breakfast was good with lots of variety. After checking out, I realised I might have left my traveller adaptor in the room. Immediately Isent a text to the hotel via WeChat but to my disappointment, it took two days for them to reply my message asking me to self contact the front desk counter to ask yourself?! What kind of service of that??? Asking hotel guest to add them on WeChat but still asking us to self call the front desk? Not all tourists will have local Sim card to make phone call. That is really a disappointment. They should have offered a better service by checking with the front desk counter and then get back to us via WeChat. This Hilton is definitely still a long way to go to achieve better rating. The hotel is closed to q night market that offers lots of street foods. There was one food stall that offer very palatable Chu Cheong fun. The experience was not pleasant for my one night stay.

Hotel within walking distance to Chengde Mountain Resort . Lot of restaurants and shopping street around the hotel. Hotel room is spacious. Bed is very comfortable. Have a good sleep after long walk at Mountain Resort and surrounding temples. Breakfast has lot of variety.

Hotel is located in a good location close to major attractions as well as walking distance to departmental stores and a night market street. Room is also clean and spacious, while breakfast has a decent and tasty spread. Staff are also very helpful in arranging transport and booking tickets for attractions. However, as we came during the peak summer vacation, the lifts were pretty slow and breakfast can be quite packed.

Located at the city centre and near to the famous mountain resort

The photo from the hotel website is completely fraudulent. There is no view at all but looking to others clothes racks. House keeping did not make the bed but dumped the trash?! The entire hotel smells like an ashtray. I have asthma and am allergic to cigarette smoke, the website should be more clear on this is a smoking facility except the rooms. Anyone with a functional brain would know air circulates. Therefore despite you allow smoking at the elevator area, wouldn’t it travel to the guest rooms less than 10 feet away? I would never stay here again.

Very good hotel. Nice clean room with a great view. Frinedly staff! Convienent location on walkable distance to Chenge Mountain resort and the city shops and restaurants.
