Teochew Minglin Mansion

We liked everything about this refurbished mansion, keep the old structure and new interior for the room. The reception helped us with private car chartered, shared the history of this mansion, pretty nice of them. It's near to walk down the paifang street and others touristy spot too. Definitely recommended to others... :)

It worths every penny to have the chance to stay in a historical house. The architecture is beautiful. It is nestled in the old town within walking distance to all sightseeing places. The room is cozy, bed is comfortable, service is good.

Wonderful stay at this hotel. The workers are very friendly and willing to introduce the good locations or restaurants.

A tastefully restored ancient mansion, with modern facilities in each suite. Location is convenient in the old city, but still peaceful without much noise from the street. Beautiful inner courtyard to drink tea and rest after a day of sightseeing. Service was helpful and attentive; the best way to contact them before arrival is by Wechat. Only limitation is that direct dropoff by vehicle is not possible because of location, and entryway has steps.

Totally enjoyed my stay at the 400 year old home to a Ming dynasty governor official. Although the loft style accommodation is a little small, the beddings are so comfortable that it provided high sleep quality. We even bought 8 pillows from them to bring home! The people running the place, Xiao Lee, Xiao Weng and a part time gentleman (can’t remember his name now) were very hospitable and helpful, making sure we have what we needed and also get to discover chaozhou like a local. As I have been to Chaozhou before, the team mapped out a discovery route for me to explore beyond the usual touristy itinerary. Really appreciate Xiao Lee’s recommendation to a tea house which includes a short opera and pipa performance. The part time guy’s recommendation to a local oyster omelette joint was the highlight of our food trail. When I needed help to bring my luggages to the main road, Xiao Weng send them with his bike, and went beyond to hunt the didi down to make sure the luggages are loaded before we get to the didi. They stay at Ming Lin Mansion made our trip truly unforgettable. Having said all these, there are a few minor areas for the mansion to improve. While it is a high tech set up, some of the remote controls for the auto curtains didn’t function as they should. The stairs to the loft bedroom can be a little tricky (need to navigate carefully when turning corner), so please be careful when heading down to the living area. Apart from all these, overall it is fantastic stay. Thank you Teochew Minglin Mansion and the team for their warmth in making my stay in Chaozhou an enjoyable one!
