Scala de Faro

Wow. We have a room with a balcony over looking the harbor and directly across from the lighthouse. What more could one ask? Enjoying the wonderful area from the privacy of your room is truly a great experience. Rooms are comfortable and beautiful. Breakfast is included which is always a bonus when traveling. You do have to walk to the hotel but our driver brought our bags for us. The hotel will bring the bags to your room, no elevator from 1st to 2nd floor but they have a chair lift for those that can not climb. Great shopping and dining in the area.

The location and the people in the hotel made for a perfect, relaxed time in the relaxing city of Chania. Our room was lovely, the breakfasts were perfect, and the desk staff (Christina, Anita) were very helpful in all ways, as were the rest of the staff. We would highly recommend this choice for your visit to Crete.

The hotel is in a great location with beautiful views. The staff, especially Christina, were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good with lots of options. A few things that should be improved- there is no place to store clothes. The sink in room 8C is cool looking but not practical. Takes up a lot of space and the water is a trickle. The hotel should invest in a golf cart to transport luggage since cars can’t get close. But overall enjoyed our stay!

Rooms are very clean and organized. Breakfast was delicious and the ladies serving always had a smile and a friendly good morning greeting. Perfect location in old Chania with a fantastic view seaside or street side. The entire staff was extremely helpful with getting taxi’s and transfers, suggesting sights and activities, and suggesting restaurants. Christina at the front desk is a very special young woman and definitely an asset to SCALA De Faro. This is where I’ll stay when I return.

Small little hotel tucked right in the heart of Chania. We had 2 rooms for a family of 5. They provided a roll away for one of this kiddos. This place has the BEST location. We had rooms with balconies that faced the water. Best people watching ever. VERY busy part of town yet the hotel is a quiet oasis from it all. Lovely rooms. The rooms were very large actually. The air-conditioner works great! (unlike other hotels we stayed at) Plenty of nice fluffy towels, bath products provided. Coffee/Nespresso machine in room. And they gifted us a bottle of wine upon arrival! We were only able to partake in the delicious breakfast one morning. Yogurt, fruit, chia seeds, overnight oats, pastries, eggs made to order.... It was a generous offering. AND great coffee also! Would defiantly stay here again next time I was in Crete. Would recommend to family and friends. The staff is helpful and nice. Arranged a very early morning transfer for us! The hotel also shipped a forgotten item to us. In my opinion, the fact they called us to connect us with the item was beyond service. They took the time to ship it and then followed up to make sure we received the item. They go above and beyond. This hotel and the staff are TOP NOTCH!! Will recommend to anyone traveling to Chania. STAY AT Scala De Faro. Incredible!!
