JS Sol de Can Picafort

For over €1500 I would not recommend this hotel. It's quiet an old hotel with bad wires hanging off the walls and plugs that don't work. We stayed in an hotel room with with 1 bedroom and 1 "living room". The AC was great in one room but non existent in the living room. The living room had 1 chair, 1 fridge and 1 table not what one expects from a living room. The balcony was quiet small with 2 chairs tak8ng up the entire balcony. The area is nice small walk to beach and pool that's across the road from the hotel. The receptionist named Vera was extremely helpful and really made a drab holiday a little better. One morning breakfast was finished at 10:15 I arrived at 10:10 thinking I will just run around with a big plate and grab a few breakfast items, only to be yelled at by tge breakfast lady who pointed to her watch saying "we must close, we need to clean the room, youre too late", i have never in any of my holidays been given out to. I have heard the other JS sol hotels are newer and better versions of this hotel, so maybe stay there instead of here.

This hotel was reviewed with an 8 but after staying here for 5 days we don't understand why. When you enter the hotel there is a very musk smell (also in the room itself). The room itself is oke besides the musky smell, probably because of the old furniture. We booked half pension but after 1 evening with diner we skipped diner for the rest of the vacation! Diner itself is the worst. The food is cold with not enough variation and the quality is bad. Breakfast isnt much better. The only positive about this hotel are the beds, which are heavenly and the location (close by the beach and shops).

Can Picafort town is a lovely place and the hotel location is close (2 minutes walk) to the beach. Nearby there are plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. There is a decent size lounge area with comfy sofas and tables & chairs which we used on a few occasions. There is also a bar in that area which is serviced by the receptionist during the day and restaurant staff in the evening. The hotel also has a Spa which includes a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi pool. Although it was great to use it, the water jets in the jacuzzi were not working to full capacity. The hotel signs states maximum two users at one time and whilst I was there on my own, four other guests turned up and started using the facilities. There are no hooks to hang towels, bags, clothes, etc so the other guests were using the two chairs for these things. I found the beds soft and uncomfortable (need updating) which meant I didn't sleep properly during my 7 night stay. My friend said the beds were the same in their room. The room was clean. There is a decent size wardrobe with about 10-12 coat hangers - sufficient for myself. Plus the drawers on the bedside tables which is good for tidying things away. All the rooms have a small fridge. Unfortunately, the selection of food and seating in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner was limited. On a few occasions guests had to use the lounge area to eat their dinner. The restaurant seating area is indoors with some seating outside but too small to accommodate the hotel guest capacity when the weather is cooler in the morning and evening. Smoking is permitted in the outdoor seating area during breakfast and dinner service times which is not pleasant whilst eating as it permeates into the restaurant. We found the selection of salad and fresh fruit minimal so ended up buying fruit from local shops to top up our intake. However the food on offer at the restaurant all tasted good. If you're going to the beach, the hotel have a store of umbrellas for guests to use, but this is not common knowledge! This is my 4th visit to Can Picafort staying in different hotels including another JS hotel. My friend and I were both disappointed with this JS hotel so will not return to this one.

Fantastic location, hotel a bit tired looking but kept fabulously clean by the staff, we stayed half board, good breakfast, omelette made on request, evening meal can be bit repetitive, but always something to choose from, we ate out several nights which was our choice lots of places to choose from in the area. Plenty of sun beds for all, not sure about summer we stayed late September, loved the resort lots of eating and drinking places.
