Hotel Porta do Sol Conference & Spa Bewertungen

We have stayed a few times at the Porta do sol. Great staff, great breakfast, fab spa and swimming pools. Really enjoyed our stays. We will be going again later in the year. Overall Fabulous.

Muy buen hotel, con piscina magnifica. Relativamente cerca del centro ciudad, se puede ir andando. Lo que no entiendo es que no se pueda pagar con tarjeta si compras menos de 5€ en el bar del hotel. No te puedes tomar una cerveza sin metalico. Una de las personas que trabajaban alli insistió mucho que no se podia pagar menos de 5€ con tarjeta, tambien fue dificil que me lo cargaran a la habitacion mostrando el dni en recepcion, finalmente y como favor excepcional, me lo cargaron y lo pagué en el checking out. No debería ser tan dificil.😫

Foi uma ótima estadia. Os funcionários do hotel foram sempre atenciosos. A limpeza salta à vista por ser excelente. Os quartos espaçosos com tudo o que é preciso para ter uma estadia. O pequeno almoço é excecional, não falta nada e tem tudo. Fica próximo do centro e também das praias. Vou voltar certamente.

Selbst durchnässte Pilger müssen auf 15.00 Uhr warten, vorher darf niemand einchecken. Personal, falls vorhanden, sehr unfreundlich, als Gast stört man. In der Bar gibt es von allen drei Zapfanlagen kein Bier, nur Flaschenware. Die Zimmer sind großzügig, Steckdosen fehlen jedoch. Ebenso Badehandtücher, die gibt es nur gegen Abgabe einer Towelcard. Spa muss extra gezahlt werden, Badekappe ein Muss und kann nicht ausgeliehen werden, nur gekauft. Im Restaurant kommt das Hauptgericht nur wenige Minuten nach dem Couvert, man ist auch wenig willkommen. Das Hotel strahlt den Charme einer Friedhofskapelle aus, düster und ungastlich.

we had a very good experience here. we were 10 Ebikers on the way from Porto to Santiago de Compostela. This was the end of a long day. Very pretty location. I don't know why other's had bad experiences. Desk staff was good. They weren't the ritz, but they were helpful. Very helpful explanation how to store our Ebikes. Spa services that 2 of our group used and were very good. Huge pool. We did not avail ourselves of bar or restaurant; we walked into town. Room had a balcony and was very clean and well appointed.

The hotel is nice, and the rooms are refurbished. The rooms are big, and the bathroom was very nice and clean. The staff were nice and helpful. The hotel is located on a street, so the rooms facing the river have the street in front of them. Also, the rooms facing the pool have a train rail behind the pool and the hedge, so it's very noisy when the train passes, including in the middle of the night. Additionally, there was a constant noise, probably from the pool pumps or spa, which was quite bothersome. The breakfast was quite basic—no variety of eggs, just scrambled and boiled, no beans, no vegetables of any kind. They didn't refill the yogurt or water when it was gone. No fresh juices. Overall, not a four-star breakfast. We also had quite a stench in our room, probably from the sewer pipe or drainage. We informed the personnel, but no one did anything. The carpet in the rooms was worn out and has seen better days. The hotel is located approximately 1.5 km from the town, so we had to walk or order a taxi. Uber or Bolt are not available in Caminha.

Not aimed at the family customer segment - it may be different cultural views on child safety (I havent stayed at enough hotels in Portugal to know if this is usual), but we had a room for our kids and a room for us as parents which they placed two floors apart in a big hotel, and the hotel were unable (unwilling?) to change that. For us that is very stressful and so doesnt make for a good experience.

A big hotel- clean rooms if a bit worn out. Adequate amenities. They charged 5 euros for a kettle! shame on them. Very poor wi-fi, speed never reached beyond 19 MBP/s during my entire stay. Staff seem indifferent to the requests. Not recommended to solo travelers, especially non-native Portuguese speakers.
