Hotel President

We were very happy with our stay at this hotel. The hotel and pools were nice (though we didn’t use the pools, as we spent most of our time exploring the area and visiting the seaside). The staff were extremely professional, and the food was a pleasant surprise. For a 3-star hotel, the meals were fresh, delicious, and of a high standard. Lunch and dinner offered new options daily, which was a lovely touch. The rooms are a bit basic, but they had everything we needed. I can’t understand why some people leave negative reviews. If you’re expecting a 5-star experience at a 3-star hotel, that’s unrealistic. This hotel should be reviewed for what it is—a 3-star establishment that performs at a very high standard. With more luxurious rooms, it could easily be rated 4 stars. Overall, we had a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend this hotel!

I am not sure where the issue regarding being English is coming from. We had an excellent time and service. The hotel is spotless and everything is cleaned within an inch of its life. The staff are friendly and approachable, the entertainment we saw was good fun. Hotel is literally a 5 min walk from everything including the beach. We only did breakfast and glad we did as soon as we many nice places to eat near the hotel. As for the noise we slept well with the door open. This hotel does what it says and is a worthy 3 star. We noticed no coffee or tea facilities, but there is a fridge. We simply went to the local supermarket and bought iced coffee for the mornings. I would say that we did come the end of September so probably more quiet than usual. Our room was pool view and more than adequate. I would highly recommend staying here. It’s a central location and is clean and comfortable. As for Calella itself it is a lovely place to walk, stop, shop, eat and drink. We went on the little train around the area, gave you a good overview. There is a bus ticket stand in the first little square area. Can get tickets to Barcelona and Girona. The train station is not a far walk or you can get the little train to it. The only down side was flies. They are most prominent in the first little square. Drive you mad if you’re trying to eat. Hotel was in a great location with everything walking distance the hotel itself is very basic and boring. Entertainment is standard nothing going on in the day apart from a small water work out in the morning the food is ok if you want to eat salad with fish and pork everyday very poor choices same thing all the time and you don't even get the basic orange juice with your meals you have to pay for your bottled drinks. Food is not sign posted either just a small picture of a pig or a fish above each dish .Definitely Avoid if your ENGLISH I visited with my friend and the way people looked at us all the time was like we where aliens or something they have no time for English people at all !!

Great value hotel. Located within a 5-6 minutes walk down to the beach with an underpass for the road. A supermarket directly opposite and an Aldi around 5 minutes away. Lots of nice cafes, independent souvenir shops and what look like bars around too. The hotel itself is well kept, clean and tidy, entertainment some evenings and the clientele was older - there was a hotel nearby full of teens / louder partying guests so we were glad to have avoided that and chosen a quieter hotel. There is a school located next door but it was only noticeable when kids were on break. The pool has plenty of loungers even on a busy day, it's not heated but warm enough with a small shallow pool for younger children. There was a lifeguard on duty for most of the day. The room was small, on first impressions a bit on the older side, but the beds were very comfy (firmer) and the bathroom looked to have recently renovated and was quite smart. There's some storage and a balcony also which was nice to look out over the pool. The food (full board) was excellent. Not a huge variety but as vegan guests we had varied food each day and were more than happy with the salads (both mixed and separated) and the good selection of fruits. Lots of cooked hot meat dishes and sliced meats & hams, also lots of fish including some HUGE prawns! The coffee was nice in the morning and they had Soya / Oat milk available on request. Drinks not included at noon or in the evening but they were well priced. Would definitely return and recommend.

Easy to get to: I booked a shuttle straight from Girona airport to the hotel. It's only 30mins costs under £15 pp and booked via flybus.com and literally drops and collects you from outside hotel. Fantastic location: you can see the sea from the hotel so beach is easy to find and close (15min walk?). Lots of shops and restaurants literally within 20min proximity. There's even a long strip full of shops which is lovely to walk down. Plenty of bars to go to within 20min walk too and a club or two if you're into that but also very quiet at the hotel and no problems whatsoever. Safe and quiet area, not overly touristy like some of the big cities but enough going on to make a great holiday and everything you want in super close proximity. Food is about 15-25€ a head but cocktails you can get a litre (yes I said 1 litre) for €10 in some places like bobs bar. Barcelona for the day: we went to Barcelona for the day. Train station is 20/25 min walk and cost about 11€ return pp. Literally one train straight to placa de Cataluna (I think it's called) and that was literally at las ramblas (3min walk from station). Took about an hour on the train but liked looking out the window as you go past the beaches. Hotel: very nice looking. Pools are nice and you can't reserve beds which was great, so no annoying problems finding beds in the morning. Says adult pool and kids pool but practically mixed but not "loud" with kids in. Was perfect temperature too, not like some places where the pool is freezing!! They do pool workout in the morning, play some music in the day ( quietly) and there's a show every evening which begins with kids entertainment. We saw an illusionist, a Frank Sinatra tribute and Latina dancing. Really liked the hotel. Staff are nice and place is clean and well kept. There's an indoor and and outdoor bar and a well kept pool table Food: was really happy with the food. The photos don't do the canteen justice there's lots of room and lotsssss to choose from. Typical breakfast consisted of every kind of bread you can think of, jams/butters/etc, 4 kinds of croissant, lots of different sliced meats and cheeses, pork sausages (mini hot dogs), chicken sausages, bacon, boiled/ fried/ scrambled eggs, mushrooms, cooked tomatoes, baked beans, toastie/panini maker, loads of cereals, loads of fruits, biscuits, freshly cooked chuuros, and more (and that's all available. Dinner was very varied with meat fish rice pasta etc you definitely won't go hungry there's every kind of food available and there's desserts too. Breakfast was from 8am-10pm. Lunch is 1pm till 1:45pm. Dinner was from 7:15pm till 8pm. To be honest we only paid for breakfast and lunch and that was enough food for us! Overall we went as a couple (were mid 30s) and had a great 5 day holiday. Relaxed by the pool, went to Barcelona for a day and went out for drinks in the eve or watched the shows at the hotel. Plenty of families with kids too and lots for them to do so they were nicely distrac
