Hotel in einer ruhigen Gegend, sehr gute Betten, Möglichkeit zur Zubereitung eines kleinen Kaffees oder einer kleinen Küche. Wir schätzten die kleine Terrasse für die Zimmer im Erdgeschoss. Etwas weit vom Stadtzentrum von Caen entfernt, vor allem wenn Sie tagsüber viel gelaufen sind, empfehlen wir Ihnen, am Jachthafen zu parken, wo es viele Parkplätze gibt. Ausgezeichnetes Restaurant im Viertel Vaugueux: Avenue 21. Abends zahlreiche Bars in der Rue Ecuyere und auf dem Place Saint Sauveur. Lebhafte Innenstadt, zahlreiche Einkaufsmöglichkeiten.

We really enjoyed our stay, the room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It is ideally located and walkable to lots of attractions, restaurants and bars. Also very handy for public transport. The staff were extremely helpful and took time to tell us about the local area and answer any queries we had. The breakfast tray delivered to our room each morning was typically french and very nice. We would recommend.

POINTS POSITIFS : - Hôtel placé au pied de la gare, et prêt des commerces et restaurants, on peut vite prendre le tramway ou bus pour visiter la ville et ses monuments historiques, - L'accueil de tous les hôtes pendant 4 jours est irréprochable, je dirais même que de nombreux touristes ne se rendent pas compte de tout le travail qui leur est demandé, une seule personne pour satisfaire les voyageurs qui prennent les petits déjeuners, et quand la salle est comble, il leur faut sans cesse rajouter de la nourriture. Puis vider les plateaux, les nettoyer, et répondre aux multiples questions à l'accueil, merci messieurs et mesdames, vous êtes des pro ! - Je tenais également à préciser que les petits déjeuners où l'on peut se servir à volonté sont très copieux et complets. Boissons diverses, céréales, beurre, laitages, confitures, compotes, chocolats, pains, viennoiseries maison, il n'y a rien à redire, même au niveau propreté. - Salle de petits déjeuners modernisée, spacieuse, RAS. - Chambres spacieuses, un siège manque, bonne literie, serviettes changées tous les jours par les femmes de ménage. - Les fenêtres ne peuvent pas s'ouvrir entièrement, on peut juste le faire sur 10 cm, à cause d une chaîne, ce qui évite des défenestrations éventuelles, surtout avec des enfants... POINTS NEGATIFS : - L'environnement surtout en soirée et nuit est loin d'être génial, des personnes louches, droguées, alcoolisées, ou SDF crient parfois, ou se disputent. L'entrée de l'hôtel devrait être déplacée, il faut traverser ces bandes de personnes (2 à 6) qui vous dévisagent, surtout quand on est une femme.. et qu'il faut surtout ignorer, en visant la porte de l'hôtel pour rentrer. - Du bruit jusqu'à minuit à cause du bar à côté, ensuite, à partir de 7 H 30, les employés communaux viennent tous les matins pour nettoyer les déchets laissés par ces personnes. - A cause de toilettes mal nettoyées (traces d'urine), nous avons de suite changé de chambre, car nous étions à l'origine de l'autre côté. - L'hôtel d'après une réponse d'un responsable, sera rénové en 2023, et bien tant mieux, car il a bien son taux d'usure pour ce qui concerne les chambres, avec leurs moquettes usées, et pas entièrement propres. Les salles d'eau commencent dans certains angles à avoir de la rouille qui apparaît. Les rénovations des hôtels IBIS existent depuis plus d'une dizaine d'années, et cet hôtel aurait mérité des travaux depuis bien plus tôt. - Les couloirs, et ascenseurs mériteraient d'être nettoyés au moins 2 fois par jour, surtout quand des personnes déversent leur petit déjeuner dans l'ascenseur, et que 2 heures après ce n'est toujours pas nettoyé. CONCLUSION Bien placé, bonne qualité prix, bon accueil, bonne restauration, bonne literie. Environnement louche et bruyant, hôtel à rénover en 2023 c'est urgent. Pas assez de personnel. MES CONSEILS : Faites comme nous, prenez des boules quiès, et la nuit vous paraîtra plus paisible !

This is a really great hotel in the centre of Caen with a very friendly owner who seemed to just to know what you wanted, not overbearing whilst being available and full of advice if you wanted it. The only downside was one of our rooms was very small, but it was very comfortable and we slept well, so that is all you need ultimately. Parking is just around the corner, not cheap at 22euros but it was safe and secure and meant there was no bother or need to move your card from the street first thing in the morning.

This hotel was brilliant in every way - and good value for money too. Don't be put off by the eccentric exterior, because once inside you're greeted by friendly front office staff and in no time are in your well-appointed moderately-sized room. Plenty of off-street parking as well. The hotel has a well-stocked bar at reasonable prices and an excellent restaurant serving some of the best pizzas and hamburgers in Normandy. Highly recommended.

Ein hervorragendes Hotel war das Zimmer ohne Spott und das Personal sehr hilfreich. Große Verkehrsverbindungen mit dem Bahnhof über die Straße und mit dem Zug und Bussen laufen regelmäßig. Sehr empfehlenswert für die Erforschung von Normandie.

Hôtel François d'Ô besticht durch eine zentrale Lage in Caen, nur einen 4-minütigen Fußmarsch von Maison des Quatrans und 5 Gehminuten von Kirche Saint-Pierre entfernt. Dieses Hotel ist 0,2 km von Salle de l'Echiquier und 0,3 km von Mémorial de Caen entfernt.Genieße die den schönen Ausblick von folgenden Punkten: Terrasse und Garten. Pros: The location of the apt was central and convenient. Railway station approx. 15mins walk, plenty of restaurants nearby. The view from our room towards the church behind was great, especially in the evening. There were proper blinds for the windows, covering from the sun. The bed was good and we got a good sleep, no noise from the traffic. Cons: We paid extra for the bigger room, the promise was 20m2, but the room was clearly smaller, although the bathroom was quite big - not giving that much of the value. There was any table for eating, no kettle or coffee maker. The room did not have air-conditioning, but the air flowed well, when you opened the window in the room and the bathroom. Would recommend this hotel for a overnight stop-over.

Excellent in every way. Quick helpful reception. Extremely clean well appointed room. High level of security. Enclosed storage for bikes. Good value. I was rather concerned after I had made a booking after reading a review that complained that the bedding was not changed every day. Ignore this negativity, the People gets my vote for cleanliness. One observation. The windows in the bar/ pizza area could do with a polish. They seemed a little ‘ greasy’ in the setting sun. Apart from that minor comment, perfect. I have no connections with the People. I was an unnecessarily apprehensive visitor.
